Hello everyone!

First, hope all the Disers heading to BC in December have a wonderful time! I just can't believe how many of us are visiting next month - yay! Our February list is only about 5 families right now - let me know if there are any more of you out there, and I'll add you to the list!

I do have a question regarding an early Ohana breakfast. We usually stock BC Marketplace items in our room for breakfast, but we're adding a few pre-rope drop breakfasts for our February trip. I promise I ran a search on this, but the most helpful results were from 2006.

So has anyone gone from BC to a 7:30am breakfast at Ohana? I'd love to use Disney transportation, so a Disney bus is our first choice. The older threads report buses running at 6:30am for character breakfasts, and either dropping guests at MK or taking guests to resorts hosting the breakfast. But if those with experience strongly recommend a cab, we might go that route.

Thanks!!:wizard:

I'm Feb 5-9, will be arriving late 4th but checking into BCV on the 5th.

It's almost our turn!

We told our kids about our trip about two weeks ago. We wanted to surprise them, but also wanted them to have a little time to get excited and enjoy the anticipation. We have never stayed at BC before and are really looking forward to it. I checked out this board months ago when we booked, but haven't been back in awhile, so looks like I have lots of reading to do!

I noticed on the FAQ there's a movie at night and marshmallow roasting. Does anyone know about what time these activities start? And is the marshmallow roast free, or do you buy a kit? Also, are the pools heated? The kids are really hoping to check out the pool on this trip.

Thanks!

They start the fire and movies right around dusk (at least in the summer). I guess it would be later at this time of year. If I recall from July, we did the fire earlier, then the movie started. At that time of year it was 9 p.m. They did not charge for the marshmallows and sticks. They had a bag with some of each and handed them out.

Somewhere there is a picture of the sign on the beach. That tells the times and the movies for each night. Okay, looking back in my TR, there is a picture that showed the campfire at 8 and the movie at 9. But of course, that was in July. It can be changed on the sign.

Here's the actual picture

Of course, I suppose it's not all that useful! I'm sure someone who has just been can update as to the times for this season.

I should have saved the sheet about the daily activities. We just got back from a 3-night stay at YC from Sun 11/21-Wed 11/24. I booked the room on Fri 11/19. So we just got the 40% off rate. Looking back don't know if the extra $$$ for the YC was worth it as we were in the parks a lot. But it was first trip to Disney.

We were very lucky in that we arrived at 445am and were able to get checked-in basically immediately. We were in our room about 520-530am and were able to get a few hours sleep after an all-night drive (So I guess we got 4 nights hotel).

We were on the Conceriege level and it was nice being able to grab whatever you want, etc. Even at off hours.

The pool was great, my kids and us enjoyed it very much. Especially the sand bottom. The water slide was good also.

The boats from the lighthouse are slow as molasses. Its definitely easier to walk to Epcot. And might even be quicker to walk to DHS.

The hotel still seems to be in good shape for a 20 year old resort. Beaches & Cream is a great place for ice-cream. And they don't nickel & dime you with the ice cream. A scoop probably is a scoop + 1/2. I'll have to go back one day with a few friends and tackle the kitchen sink.

The trains, lights were up the day we left. It was good experience and no real downside to the resort. Just the whole $$$ vs. time spent at resort versus parks.

Can't believe that in just 3 days, we'll be checking in at the YC! That means by now, our room has been assigned. We requested a lake view, so here's hoping! DH and I are sooooo excited!!! Now to try and calm down so that I can tackle all the final prepwork.

We will be arriving Dec 10- can you tell me if the Club level loumge is still open 24 hours?

/
I'm not certain about the club level lounge is still open 24 hours/day. It was a trial when I was there in the middle of October-club level staff said it was going well but that no final decision had been made.
There were drinks in the cooler and a few snacks in jars (trail mix, large Swedish fish, yogurt covered pretzels) as well as fresh whole fruit available.

We returned a week ago from YC, and the marshmallows started at 7pm, with the movie at 8pm. Have a great trip!

I've been reading through the thread for months. Less than two weeks to go and I have a question. We are staying at BCV in two studios. Us and 2 kids in one and the grandparents and 1 kid in the other. We have requested they be close to each other. Should we call now that it is closer and request again? Should we do online check in or wait until we get there to check in so that we can make the request in person? Thanks. I think the grandparents would feel much better if we were close.

There is no problem calling to check your request. I'd call about 5-7 days out. I seem to remember they assign the rooms around three days out.

Do not do online check in.

Check the room numbers at check in to see if they are close. If not explain your situation and I'm sure they will try and honor especially with kids. Of course availability will be a factor.......

We leave on Thursday for our trip. We have 1 night at BC, 5 nights at CR, then 5 nights at YC CL. The first night at BC was a reservation for a standard view room. I could not get CR for that night, so I chose BC, since we will be at DS our first day.

I checked in online several days ago. Just went to check my reservation, since I know the system is going down and I wanted to make sure everything was in there.

The reservation page says "Deluxe Room-Stone Harbor Club"...does that mean that we were upgraded for that first night? :confused3 Stone Harbor Club means club level? What is a Deluxe Room?

I am so excited!

It sure sounds like it. Off Disney website>>>>> "Access to Concierge service at the Stone Harbor Club located on the fifth floor" <<<<<<<. I would always gear my trip toward NOT having it in case it does not happen but if it does then pixiedust:!

We are adding a few extra days to our Grand Gathering trip. You know get in some "family" time before the rest of the gang shows up. Anyway we decided on BC. I was wondering I can upgrade our room to CL for $200 more. I know DH might enjoy this as well as DD. What I was wondering is what is offered? Are their drinks available at all times? What about beer? Snacks? We won't start our dining plan until we check into our other resort so I was thinking this may be a good choice? TIA

We stayed a week CL last summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our beloved Dee has posted a lot of information in post #3 of this thread that should help you with choice. The more you are at the resort the more it is worth it.

Thanks we will be spending all our time at the resort. As our package w/ our tickets and dining plan don't start for 3 days after we arrive.

We will be arriving Dec 10- can you tell me if the Club level loumge is still open 24 hours?

The room is open. I don't remember the cookies being there? Maybe they were or maybe they were all eating. But we arrived back late, like 2-3AM and saw the yogurt pretzels, swedish fish and granola. Plus the soda in the fridge and fresh fruit. Plus I believe the coffee machine was still open.

However, from 7am - 10pm, they will get you anything that is available during those times if you just ask. Such as beer for some mid-afternoon pool time, etc. Beer in stock was Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Long Hammer India Pale Ale, Heineken, Bud Light.

hi all
hoping someone here can clarify something for me...Ijsut made areservation at Beach Club for the end of May. I received a PIN mailer for 35% off deluxe resorts! Anyway, when I called for a price for 5 of us in one room, the CM told me that the standard room does not accomodate 5 and put us in a garden view room. But I just saw on the first page of this thread that standard rooms do accomodate 5. :confused3

Should I call back and inquire again? I hate to call because the calls always take forever! I never know if the CM's are correct with their info...I've called so many times before and had totally wrong info given to me,like that the last time I called the CM told me that only the Polynesian slept 5 in one room, none of the other deluxes:confused:
thanks for any help!

I have one more question- did you receive a bounce back offer in your room?
