2010 WDW Resort Packages Watch!

Well, we are booking ours through AAA this morning as soon as they open. We are going to start out at Pop Century but if they announce discounts for March later then we will stay at our favorite mod Caribbean Beach Resort.

I was going to go in and book my trip for next May and it said for $166 I could add travel insurance. What should I do?:confused3 Does every one usually add this to their package? what does it include? If i dont add it does it mean I wouldnt be able to cancel the trip if I had to?

I declined travel insurance this time. We bought it last year but for the reasons we would need it for doesn't apply for cancellation.

Well we are booked for March 2010!!!! I went ahead and made our reservations at Caribbean Beach because that is where we really want to stay. Now the wait begins for discounts but we plan to go no matter what.

You can cancel your trip without travel insurance. If you have a package and it is within 45 days of your arrival date you will be charged a cancellation fee
(not sure how much the fee is).

Travel insurance covers lost baggage, medical expenses, emergency transport, accidental death, etc.

My husbands insurance covers most of what they offer and we never buy vacation insurance.

If I buy trip insurance I will buy it on a different independent site. It is usually less expensive and it also covers our flights even if they are booked separately from the resort reservations.

I went on the Disney website just now and decided to see what the price would be for a package. It would be 2 adults at Pop Century, DDP, going January 16-23. It only pulled up packages for Allstar Music and I think Sports. But not Pop Century. Anyone know why this is?

It did that for me too... and then I went over to the left hand side and clicked the Edit button and it brought up a little drop down box where you could click the specific resort you are interested in, and I was able to bring up a package with Pop... thought that was kind of weird though....

Oh. I am glad to hear that. I called and got my room only reservation changed over to a package deal. I asked the CM about it and he said it could be that all the rooms at POP Century were booked. I thought that kinda strange since it is mid January. :confused3 Then I got worried that if Pop Century was already that full the parks might be full and then Disney would not offer any deals. Glad to see you were able to book it at Pop.

I was told the cancellation fee for packages is $100 for cancellations between 6 and 45 days out, $200 between 0 and 5 days.

Amen! It would be fantastic to see the 4/3 deal again in January, or maybe some free dining! :goodvibes

Waiting for a good rate for my late January/early February trip is driving me crazy!! I really hope I am able to get a good discount. This will be my family's first trip on-site after my years of begging, pleading, and bullying. If we don't get a good rate we might have to stay off-site.

We are planning on staying for 11 nights. I am already trying to talk my family into staying for 14 nights if we are able to get the 4/3 deal!!

I just booked a package to stay at THV in early Jan. I'm really hoping for either free dining or a good room discount!!:worship:

Pop Century June 27-July 9, 2010...Room-only already booked. Discount would be awesome! Would really make our 4th of July incredible!:wizard:

Hooray it's done!!!! We just booked last night. 9 nights at the Caribbean Beach for our Grand Gathering of 14! Feb 1- 10th. Cant wait. Now we have to hope for a good deal to come our way!

I buy it every year. Last year my son left his Nintendo DS on the plane home and it disappeared with the games. I was able to file the claim easily and it was replaced quickly!!! WELL worth it if you ask me. The claim was more than what we paid!

I had the 4/3 last year but I can't remember what all it includes - is it just the room?

We had it too, and it included room & tickets. We were there when we also got a $200 gift card as well. It did not include dining.

I'm in need of some serious help...and I couldn't think of a better place to go then here! Here's my situation....

I already have airfare booked for our January trip. We're going to need 3 rooms total: one for my parents, one for the in-laws and one for hubby, me and our 2 boys. We were each going to book our own packages seperately. And we normally go through AAA, but if there's a 4/3 or free dining deal that comes out, it would be cheaper to book through Disney. That being said, should we book the room only trip now, so we can get preferred rooms at the same resort? And if we do that, once the deal comes out, will it cost us $$ to add the deal to the rooms? I'm assuming we would have to cancel the room only and rebook at the package price, correct? One more question, if we all book seperately, is there any way to request that we be in the same area together?

I know, that's a lot of questions, but believe it or not, as many times as I've been to Disney, this trip is stressing me out the most!!

Thanks to all of you for your information on here...it's just amazing!!:grouphug:
