2010 Trip planners, unite!!!

I'm jumping onboard here, too. DH and I are planning our first ever Disney trip for Dec 2010. This trip is going to be special to us in soooo many ways. MY DH and I didnt have a honeymoon and our sixth anniversary is in Dec. so it will be our honeymoon/anniversary celebration. Our son will be 4 and it will be his first Disney experience. We decided to bring my MIL and my father as well. MIL has never been and the last time my father was in Disney was 1977!!! I'm so excited to share so many celebrations with everyone for our trip:wizard:

I agree with some of you posters about having fun with just the planning of this. DH keeps laughing at me about how much I already have planned and organized for this. Every day I keep finding more and more that excites me and makes me think about all the wonderful things we should plan to do!

Wow, you do have a lot to celebrate. :cheer2: It's going to be great for all of you. Your plans will change so many times by then it won't be funny. I have changed ours several times already. Even today I was changing them.:lmao: The planning is such a great feeling but what's even better is the anticipation of it all. Just wait until you are actually able to book the reservation. Now that's happy time. Any questions you have, the DISer's will always pull through. :thumbsup2 You will get a lot of info on here. Happy Planning.

We just got back a few weeks ago and I'm already planning on 2010. Most likely, my mom and mil will be with us on the next venture to DW so I'd love to go during the Food and Wine Festival - that would make it end of September/early October 2010.

My dh just shakes his head at me and pokes fun but he's just as bad because he contributes to my habits..lol. We got back from our trip on 9/24 and for our anniversary on 10/9, he bought me a Disney book..

We love the POR but we're thinking about possibly upgrading to either AKL or WL next trip. Though, if there was any way at all, we'd love to try either the Poly, YC or BC. We'll have to see.
I just keeping reading TR's and planning away to get ideas for the next time:wizard:

How far in advance can one actually book a room? I don't see why we can't start making reservations at this point:confused3

I am planning our trip for June 26-July 2 at the Poly! Did I say planning? :surfweb: I mean obsessing over our trip in 2010! I guess it is good that I started so early, I started in July, and only just the other day settled on the Poly. I wish we could go sooner, but have to save the money first...

Picked the dates last week, we also have to work a visit in with my family who lives 45 minutes away and my sister begged for us to work it so we could spend the 4th of July with her.

Now I am on to ADR's... I'm not doing the DDP so I will have to be selective.

planning for 2010 I wish it was sooner, but I want to save for it instead of charging:rolleyes1

I hear that... we just froze our charge cards for real emergencies, and sadly, a trip to WDW doesn't fall into that category. I am sure it will be so much sweeter once we get there knowing it is paid already though. :dance3:

I want to do that too. I'm hoping to put some money away this year and next, this way, we'll have a better chance of upgrading to the resort we want. ...I'd love to stay at a deluxe next time. Also I'd like to price out to see if it will be worth doing the deluxe dining plan going out of pocket. We're not really into counter service as much. We only used the counter service for breakfast this time and we didn't even use all of our credits. We did use all our ts and snacks though. We want to stay for 7 days next time so we have a little more time.

I kind of felt bad that there were some things we didn't get to do this time around, because we were only there for 5 days. Katherine wanted to do Blizzard Beach but we had tix to SeaWorld and there was just no way to fit in everything.

I have two years to plan this one out now...:surfweb:

From what I have read here on the DIS you can book a room only at the current rate 499 days out from the last day of your vacation. So I will be able to book a room only the beginning of February 2009.

I am planning a trip for October 2010. My DH and I just returned in September and we have agreed to keep to WDW every other year. There are other places to see in the world but if we kept at it, we'd be at Mickey's House twice a year :goodvibes
Our 2010 trip is going to be special - my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins from Australia are going to fly to Canada for the first time in 20 years and come with us. My parents and my sister and my other aunt and uncle are going to come too so it will be a big group of us. I think we are going to stay off property in a vacation home as we are going for 2 weeks. That way, my DH and I can go to Disney whenever we want and the other family can do other things (as I have a feeling they won't tag along to "ride TSMM one more time" everytime we want to go :thumbsup2 ).
The only thing I don't like about off property is not having the Dining Plan but I think my DH and I may plan a one week trip in late January 2010, buy annual passes and the Disney Dining Experience card (named something new now, I think??) which will help save on meal costs.
Restaurants we have to go to are Le Cellier, 'Ohana dinner and character breakfast, the new T-Rex restaurant and Kona Cafe. I guess we have to let the others pitch in some meal ideas too, eh:rotfl2: Also, we will be attending MNSSHP and the reason we chose October was for the Food and Wine Festival.
Glad there are others planning this far in advance too! For all those that haven't been before, the DIS is a great place for info and funny stories.

We are planning July 2010. We will be celebrating a 40th for both my husband and myself and my dad's 70th - we are staying at the Poly.

We are planning on going Feb 2010, either the 1st or 2nd week. Our goal is to stay at CR tower w/a Bay Lake view. We are expecting a new baby this Jan, so the baby will be 1 yr old on our next trip. My plan was to book the trip around Apr/May w/the whole MYW package, but now DH is saying to just go ahead & book room only as soon as we can. Which is like now! I am tempted to book now to make sure we can get a CR room, but I need to check into Disney's cancellation policy, just in case.
We hope to get ADRs for Chef Mickey's this trip.

We are going in 2010 too! My daughter will turn 2 on April 9, 2010, so we have to take her on her first trip just like we did with Gabe! Gabe will be 5 so it will be fun to experience some of the big rides with him for the first time too! Since her birthday falls around Spring Break, and I have no desire to go then, we are going to go either late April or sometime in May. It will be me, DH, Gabe, and Helen, and then most likely my parents will join us again! I have narrowed down our resorts to either CSR or WL. I am hoping we can save enough to stay at WL!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Count me in!! We are planning on going in May 2010 for our 5th anniversary, staying at the Wilderness Lodge, woods view room. It seems so very far away but at least there is plenty of time to save the money, right!?!?

We're planning to go the last 2 weeks of Feb 2010. We have the Winter Olympics here in Vancouver and they're talking about maybe closing the schools during this time, so we're crossing our fingers that they do and then we can escape the craziness and go to Disneyworld! (A better kind of craziness). Does anyone know how February is for crowds?

Feb has low crowds for the most part. If you go around Presidents Day or Mardi Gras, then there will be more crowds.
In 2010, Pres Day is Feb. 15th & Mardi Gras is Feb. 16th. So that week will be very crowded, but the other weeks should be fine.

Thanks Nemofans. That's good to know. We'll definitely wait until the later part of February then.

Just thought I would come in and add my date as well! My mother and I are going in September of 2010 to celebrate her 50th birthday! It's going to be a mother-daughter trip, and we're planning now in hopes that we can save for a for more nicer things for when we go!

I am planning a surprise Surfing Down South trip for my three boys in August of 2010. :dance3: We live in PA, so I plan on driving down to Florida and stopping off at different beaches for the boys to surf. I think we will travel as far as Vero Beach. Disney has a vacation resort down there. On our way back we will stop off at Disney for a few day. I hope to be able to stay at the Poly. We stayed there for the first time this August..during tropical storm Floyd...but we had an absolute blast. What a great hotel. My boys had the time of their lives between the pool, boats, and easy acsess to the parks. We were totally spoiled. Here's to Surfing Down South to Disney 2010!I can't wait to start planning. :cheer2:

Happy Planning!
:woohoo:

oooo... I'll join in. DF and I are getting married in April 2010 at Disney! I am a planning machine! :goodvibes We will be going in sometime in fall 2009 for our planning session but that still isn't planned yet!
