I just got my email newsletter from Passporter and while the 2010 DCL book was due out this month, it hasn't even gone out yet!

With all the new changes (the Remy restaurnt for the latest update) they are updating the book some more.

Per the email:
2010 edition of our Disney Cruise guide is undergoing major revision -- significantly more than we anticipated -- and we're still working on it. That means we won't make our projected late April release date (more like mid-to-late May). We will, however, make an e-book version available as soon as we can. Watch for details on that to come soon.

I was hoping I'd see that book soon (I know it will mostly be the same for the Magic, but I just love the new books!). More waiting. popcorn::

Ugh!!!!!!!!!!! I pre-ordered mine through Borders. Our cruise is May 26 and I really wanted it before then. I was looking forward to the stuff on the Med. ports.

I pre-ordered mine in January. They have been holding on to my funds (and obviously others). What good is having a 2010 travel book if you don't even get it until mid to late 2010? I was hoping to use it to plan my WB Transatlantic. They have stalled the release several times now. I'm not very happy with Passporter.:confused3:sad2:

(I guess I should have ordered a 2009 version, but when I pre-ordered the book the original due date was April (plenty of time to plan). Pay attention Passporter and learn a lesson: don't anounce due dates if you don't know them for sure!)

Yes - I preordered mine in early March, they should have kept to the deadline so that people going on the Med cruises would get their copy before they set sail so that they would have all the port info.

If you are reading this - sort it out Passporter! Boo!

That sucks:( It seems I've been waiting forever for the new passporter, Oh well... I'd rather it have as much current info on the Dream as possible.

I think the email also said they would get an online "e-book" version up as soon as possible. Not the same as having the book in hand, but it may help those of you sailing soon.

I'm really bummed about this. Usually, travel guides come out in plenty of time. It feels like they should have done a 2010 that came out in late 2009 and let this next update be for 2011, coming out in late 2010. Isn't that how it usually works? Its more like 2010 and a half at this point.

It better come before we go or I am going to be ticked, May 28!! What a waste of money if it doesn't.

That just means it will be better than ever. Good things are worth waiting and DREAMing or FANTASYing (ok that doesn't really work) for!

I agree.

I sent Customer Service an Email explaining my dissatisfaction last week (as it said to do on their web site) and they haven't returned a reply. Not much good business sense to treat their loyal customers this way. :sad2:

You should shoot them an email or call them. It is possible that they will be able to send yours out in an early batch (or expedited) so you have it prior to your sailing.

You should contact them. I'm sure that they would be happy to send you a 2009 book, instead. That would have the same effect as your hypothetical.

I doubt they will be able to ship early but they said they'd try to make an e version for those who pre-ordered. I cancelled my 2008 WDW one due to a delay. Really easy to sort out.

The 2009 book doesn't contain stuff on med ports really

Exactly why I really wanted the 2010 version of the book!
If the book comes out in mid to late May (or June or July), you will certainly have it in plenty of time for your Westbound TA in mid-September.

It's also possible that Wrennies could get it before her cruise in late May. If not, at least she will be able to access the online version.

Their phone number is 1-734-332-7801 or 1-877-929-3273 if anyone wants to call them, I will be calling later to see what they have to say.

Im getting mine for the TA Lynne and am equally annoyed about the delay! Was hoping for it before we had our Trip booking date open up but worrying it wont be here early enough! Fingers crossed we get a confirmed date soon!

I'm a big fan of Passporter for years but this to me is poor business to offer a 2010 guide book that comes out when 2010 is half over?? Is it going to be %50 off?? Would you buy a 2009 guidebook for a 2010 trip??

But probably not in time to have an idea what shore excursions I want when I can request them on June 5. Or an idea when to schedule Palo, etc.

Thank goodness I have the DISboards to give me an idea about the answers to these questions!

I really LOVE LOVE LOVE Passporter. I periodically update by getting the new book. But I have to laugh at those of you who are annoyed that the book isn't yet ready.....sorry, but I do.

We typically cruise in January and so we NEVER EVER EVER have the right book for the year.

I bet you don't feel bad for me, either. :rotfl:

Realistically, the information in a previous edition will do; combine it with all the amazing good stuff you learn here on Disboards and you will be absolutely fine. Really!
