If the various rumours going around are correct, and many people report these and from good scources you might be looking at something like this for summer 2010, However, I have read St Petersburg Russia being mentioned a lot as well so maybe one of these ports would be dropped.

To Southampton I could only recommend London.

I understand that St Petersburg is mentioned a lot. (Not the Florida one!)

How far is Southampton from London?

Jodie

Southampton is just 75 miles from London and 21 miles from the Channel ports. From the North:

London and the Home Counties, the M3, M27 and A34 provide fast, direct road links into the heart of the city, The A36 is the major route from the West Country, Bristol and Wales. From the East follow the A27/M27 and leave at Junction 8.
By Rail
Southampton has good access by train from London's Waterloo station with a journey time of around 75 minutes. Trains run hourly from:

Reading Oxford Birmingham Salisbury Bath Bristol
Cardiff Chichester Hove (for Brighton)
Gatwick Airport Weymouth Bournemouth Winchester
Fareham Portsmouth
Southampton Airport has 5 trains an hour to Southampton Central journey time 7 minutes.

Eurostar services are based at St Pancras International, London just a short tube train ride from Waterloo.

These connect on fast tracks to France and Europe:-
Paris Lille Brussels Avignon
and Disneyland Paris

Where did you get this information? Is it something you came up with looking at other cruiselines' itinerary or is it from your "oh so secret inside sources"?;)
I truly cannot see a Baltics itinerary without St. Petersburg. That overnight port stop is appealing to most cruisers looking at a Baltics cruise.

I agree that St. Petersburg is great. But it can be a Northern Europe cruise without being a "Baltic" one. If you're going to go to St. P. - you should also stop in Stockholm and Helsinki.

*If you're going to start this cruise in the UK and go all the way to Russia, you need at least 12 days. Cruises that are shorter start elsewhere - like Copenhagen.

Yes, you are right about that. That itinerary posted is not real appealing though. I guess with DCL being the "new kid on the block" in Northern Europe/Baltics region it might limit the port selection.

If DCL is going to Europe in 2010 - wouldn't they have applied for berths at ports by now? Where are the detectives who figured out the ports on the 2007 Med cruise?

I think he was banned. There are still some pretty resourceful people here and I'm surprised nothing has been found. The Glacier Bay prospectus is the only thing we have seen so far mentioning 2010. But we've been told Alaska's not possible from some folks with "secret" inside information.;)

That's too bad. But - there's only 1 more month of speculating about what DCL will do!

To us, both the Med ports from 2007 and the Northern Europe speculative ports for 2010 sound pretty enticing. Sounds like an amazing adventure whichever way. Were there that many days at sea when the Magic went to the Med?

the med was 10 and 11 day alternating...and they weren't long enough! Too many port stops..which were amazing...but no time to spend on the ship. When you finally had a sea day, you were exhausted from the previous days.

So if you flew into London, do you then rent a car and drive to southhampton? And the weather is mild in the baltic right?

I would probably take the train from London to Southampton but then again I don't live in London

I agree....the Med. cruise was fantastic, but there needed 1 or 2 more sea days. We were exausted going from port to port. (most excursions left the ship at 8:00am and we didn't get back until 5-7pm). I could not imagine doing the 10 day. I really needed that sea day.

We felt we needed a vacation from our vacation...

The Transatlantic was INCREDIBLE!!! I will do that again in a heartbeat. The most relaxing vacation I ever took.:thumbsup2

There are many different itineraries that can be done for the Baltic or Northern European cruises depending on length and departure point

Here are some of the itineraries from other cruise lines currently visiting this part of the world

I just love all things disney but would not do europe, to me disney is not europe, but every body else loved it, also the transatlantic thing does not interest us, I believe it would be amazing but again, to me disney is blue water not grey!

I would love to go to hawaii.:thumbsup2 big time.

This is just an 'example' like others on this thread.

They would have applied for and secrured ports by now for 2010

In early 2006, before the MED cruises were released in March 2006 for Summer 2007 , one Disser found the Magic listed at Villafance for all the 10 and 11 night cruises, they posted it and shortly afterwards it dissappeared of that website.

DCL trys to guard secrets well, and maybe one reason the cruises are coming out on October 7th, is around that time some other Web source will show something. The earlier they release cruises the more difficult it is to be a detective.
