2010 news from the Magic

That would be a great shore excursion wouldn't it - great marketing for DCL to show off their new ships. Wow, I'd love to go to a ship yard!
Lisa

I think its something they wouldn't 'miss out' on, everything links up on this Hamburg is also a gateway for Berlin, its also within reach of the Disney shipyard, and Cruisers could go and see it, it has tours, and workers there can see the MAGIC first hand to get an idea.

It would be typical Disney using all its recourses together.

Remember we also have Disneyland Paris, we have Disney excursions abroad coming to Europe and there are good cross sales here. And the Captain can show of his ship to his home country.

I can't find it!

great detective work - I am so bad at this. Can I ask what you searched for to find it? If I have time later I want to search some of the other ports out that way to see if they list anything.

I tried to seach for the Copenhagen port to see if I could at least find that one since I knew what it looked like from the link but nope didn't get it listed in the first 5 pages of the search. I am hopeless when it comes to this :lmao:

Actually she -steph has done very well, for months now, I have been 'checking' port schedules for the Northern Europe ports of call and cross referencing the Disney Magic, I knew from quite a few different sources it was going to the Baltic, or that was the common information coming in, but searched and searched for evidence for months and didn't find any,

i have looked at the Port of St Petersburg, Russia, cant find anything there, Hamburg, and the Port of Amsterdam, So its excellent detective work and a repeat of 2006 for 2007 in the Med when Villafrance was found to be accommodating the Magic.

I do not think there will be just one special cruise, I think there will be a few, some different types, some Baltic ones, maybe one around the English channel down to Portugal to Spain, or a transatlantic via Bermuda, it isn't going to be just a special cruise, I have herd the plural used many times, special cruises.

So well done steph.

Thanks andrew..you inspired me from the med! It was you who found that out and I used that early information to help me plan my first disney cruise and first med. trip! One of which (I hope) to be many in the future! Now the questions for me...summer cruise in the baltic or repo???? Summer cruise would involve the kid, but repo would just be adults (kids still in school) hmm..choices choices. OR if I win the lotto..I could do the repo and the first cruise. 27 days on a disney ship=heaven!

Love the response!:rotfl2:

Thanks! Now to decide if I can do both the TA and Baltic!

Steph - how about finding out when the TA is??

Saturday May 8th 2010 the Magic I think will leave PC for Europe, but maybe not direct as last time.

Arrive May 22nd in Europe. Maybe a week later if via New York or Bermuda

We're off to our local Seafood Festival now, have fun discussing. I hope someone can figure out an estimate on when the ship would leave florida to cross over!

I personally would try for a trip in Europe, I do not like a lot of sea days i a row, and the sinlge fare by plane is nearly as much as a return trip, but REPOS have good entertainment and they do look after you very well.

Great work Steph! Oslo will be the port after Copenhagen.

I can't wait to see what itineraries they will offer!

We just got back from a Med cruise on Independence of the Seas. Southampton is a great port to sail out of, as far as the facilities go. Although it's an hour or so from LHR.

Its 75 mins from London but very good road and rail connections and a very modern Cruise and commercial port, thats why I feel its really the only option however we do have Dover, ( too busy more a cross channel ferry port and commercial than Cruise-lines) and Harwich, but that is more of a commercial port, and not good for transatlantic, of course there is Amsterdam or France but, I feel they are not as good as the UK ports, Well I would wouldn't I!

All three have good connections to London which will became more of an in place to be for the 2012 Olympics, and of course good connections to DLP.

Airports there is also London Gatwick, a bit closer.

Still keeping our fingers crossed for anything over this side of the pond but will wait until they are announced although a few hints were made during the W/b. Just wonder if Hamburg could be a stop as new ships are being built at a German shipyard? or perhaps this is a decoy to just keep is all guessing more.

You might even be able to wave at the Magic every 11 days or so as it goes past Kent, but maybe not the Thames Estuary, unless it goes into Tilbury.

Now that would be very spooky, as a few years back I posted an April fools joke saying the Magic would go to Tilbury, and visit Lakeside, for shopping, and the new Castaway Cay was Southend!!!!!!:rotfl2:

That would put the Magic there too early for the stop Steph found on the 15th. Maybe they will leave later since the 1st TA didn't do well leaving so early. Or maybe ther's another cruise that we don't know about!

I loved the last TA except for the loss of hours.

Note to self- if I need a Private Detective for anything- all I need is a bunch of Dis-sers on the case!!:lmao: You guys are awesome!:thumbsup2

How do we find out when the Magic will be in Southampton? Where's Steph when we need her???

As said, I personally do not think its just one special cruise and a repo each way, I think there is something in-between as well, something else special, Some cruises you could, if you have a lot of money, link together, They will do this for Alaska as well, with an add on repo up from LA to Vancouver, /Seattle, to a Panama, then the Alaska ones.

A series of special cruises.
