I can dream I would have maybe made it Yes, I am at an old store with the old moving fixtures, like it used to be. The managers seem very nice, and I have always wanted to be part of the Disney family. I am excited and I am praying since I can't continue with the MOM's panel maybe I will get lucky and be kept on after January, but that is only a wish right now! Hopefully Tinkerbell will sprinkle bucket fulls of Pixie Dust on me!

Of course we should still set up a visit!!! I am rooting for all of you DISers...



Yeah, I wanted it very badly! For many different reason, but if I didn't get another job then I would have been lying. I did not want to do this dishonestly. I also, am hopefully giving someone else a chance at getting on, or maybe each of you have a better chance with one less person there. Believe me sending the two emails was the hardest thing I have done in a while. I do not think I have been so proud of something I had done besides of course my kids (they will always be the thing I am most proud of) in a long time. They already have my letter, I can not take it back, and their decision I am sure is final, as it should be.

I think you are an incredible person, I would imagine the Disney Store will find they need someone with your integrity to stay on after the holidays. On the upside you are giving up one Disney opportunity for another, what fun to work in a place where you get the sights and sounds of Disney all day. I don't know what a new store looks like, out here in the sticks we only have old ones, which I love.

Being such an honest person is a great gift to your kids. My kids are teenagers and every opportunity to see integrity is important, so many people think their kids don't really see what their parents do, but believe me they do.

Oh, I knew you weren't. I accepted right away. I knew I had to. This panel experience was awesome. I hope things get better and I can apply in the future and am considered. I had a blast along the way. I can tell you all right now I had a real good cry over this, and maybe a little "It's not fair tantrum" all by myself in my car. I would be lying if I said I hadn't dreamed about it. Maybe another time....thank you all for the kind words. You are all awesome!!! I will be right here rooting you on!

You will love the Disney Store. I remember when I got the call I was hired; it was the thrill of a lifetime to finally be working for Disney. It's a shame you cannot do both.

Good mothers often have to give their family's needs priority over their own wants and needs, and you have proved to us all that you are a wonderful mother, who would have been an awesome addition to the Moms Panel! Wow! What an interesting day! I am still a bundle of energy after yesterday's announcement. I was actually up by 4:30 this morning, feeling exactly like a kid at Christmas! Heaven help my family if I actually make it on the panel!!! It may take me weeks to calm down!

I've spent this evening reading back through all of the older Mom's Panel threads - and I just have to say that I am continually impressed by the DIS. Every year finalists, panelists, and everyone just pulls together to be so supportive. Even those who didn't advance are supportive and cheer on those trying to make the panel. Its a truly wonderful thing to see!

I'm glad I am here waiting (not so patiently) with you all! The next two weeks will be full of long days and nights! Hopefully we'll keep each other amused!

Ok, my first trip as a Mom, taking an 18 month old, I remember Kilimanjaro Safari. In fact, I'd like to cheat and say that Animal Kingdom really stuck with me. We went in early 1998, not too long after AK had opened. I was astounded by the attention to detail and the theming. I spent many happy hours pushing the stroller and just soaking up the atmosphere!

I still love AK - especially at night. In fact, I've been known to plan a whole trip around when I can stay for evening EMH and see it in the dark!

To echo what has already been said - your character and selfishness in putting the needs of your family ahead of everything else is something we can all admire!

Gosh, you are taking me back 40+ trips! For some reason, the old Dream Flight stayed with me. I thought it was neat that there was half a plane in the attraction. I still see bits and pieces in Buzz, the spinning room, for example. Also used to like the cheesy Mission to Mars, Horizons was sooo cool then too.

From my first trip to Disneyland there are two attractions that stand out in my mind. First was riding the Matterhorn with my brother. He is 10 years older than me and delighted in scaring the crap out of me. I think I was about 6 or 7 on this trip so he was either 16 or 17. Somewhere there is a picture of us near the end of the ride. There was a little girl and her dad in the car with us and this little girl was a frightened as I was only she screamed the entire time. I only screamed 99% of the ride. It was an impressive experience. Someday I would love to ride it again.

The other memory was being run over by a train. I can still see that headlight, feel the rumble of the tracks, and hear the train chug chug noise. Again I screamed. I thought that I was really going to die. This was not an attraction for me. This was a run away train coming directly at me.

Again I was with this same brother and I am certain he filled my head with many wicked ideas. It was when I was in college and visiting Disney World with my roommate that I discovered the source of this memory. It was Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!

Going way back to when I was a child the attraction that sticks with me is the Enchanted Tiki Room! I remember the two birds at the entrance and, once inside, the talking walls! I remember waiting what seemed like forever to get to the front to hear the introduction before entering the theater; now this place is a walk in anytime and sit wherever you like attraction!

Seasonal really gets nothing but 20% off anything in the store even sale items and if hired by a certain date (which I was) 2 one day hoppers. If they keep me on and now I am really hoping they do, then I get 5 one day hoppers 2 times a year. Cast member rates in WDW, DLand DCL ect..., discount in store and parks. I think.....

Okay, I knew there was a silver lining! Those are some great perks! But, I still just wanna send more your way!

The ride that sticks in my mind the most from our trip in 1984 was Journey Into Imagination. The OLD one, with the cute Figment and the completely different ride. I LOVED that ride. I insisted that my Mom buy me a stuffed Figment...and it STILL sits atop my dresser after 25 years I wish they'd go back to that old Journey, I liked it SO much more.

For Disney World, it would have to be the Country Bear Jamboree and then the talking animals in Pecos Bill's Cafe. I remember going to see the bears right before lunch time and then getting a hamburger next door. It has become a family tradition to eat there every time we go since that first trip when I was a kid (I think it was 27 years ago - that makes me feel old).

For Disneyland, I went for the first time in May 2009. I was completely underwhelmed by the castle. After all the times gazing in awe at the castle at WDW, the castle at DL looked like it has been squashed.

Huh! You know, that is an interesting answer, cause now, that is actually a legit answer- which PARK really stuck with you? Cause back when I was young, why, we only had ONE park! And we had to walk through three feet of snow, uphill both ways to get to it- and were happy to do so!

I have never done AK after 5. I was very surprised when I first heard they had late hours!

hehehehee... Ya, me too. Acutally, the day I was there, I was in line with the niece of Big Daddy Ed Roth, creator of hot rods and Rat Fink- which I learned was a direct shot at Mickey Mouse! Waited nearly 2 hours, very hot June day, park so packed one could hardly move, line for Indy was 4 hours!
