2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

Hmmm....

The ride that sticks in my mind the most from our trip in 1984 was Journey Into Imagination. The OLD one, with the cute Figment and the completely different ride. I  LOVED that ride. I insisted that my Mom buy me a stuffed Figment...and it STILL sits atop my dresser after 25 years :) I wish they'd go back to that old Journey, I liked it SO much more.

Congratulations! Correctly answered! LOL!

And... awwwwwwwwwwwwww....

:)

Okay, okay! I just got the best question!!! And no cheating on this one! This is for you! Not your kids or spouse or mother-in-law: especially not your mother-in-law!

:)

Your very first visit to Disney (Land or World), what ONE (1) attraction MOST sticks with you- the one you remember when you think of that first time- for whatever reason, doesn't have to be your fav, or the best, or whatever, just the one that was the ride for that very first visit?

Now realizing this is very similar to a question Twende already asked... but it is a half-day question so what the heck! I assume Twende will resume tomorrow- even if that starts later tonight? hehehehee...

:)

The attraction that sticks out in my mind from my first trip (my first trip that I remember) is Space Mountain. The reason is because I was so scared to go on it. I was three, and my dad made me go on it even though I didn't want to. I cried through the whole line. I cried during the entire ride. Then we got off and while I was still sobbing I said, "Can we do it again?" :rotfl2:

Whoa!!!! No wonder you are NDM!!!

Ya know, I watched that exact thing happen on TOT with a little boy in line in front of me, on my elevator and walking out through the shop! Never broke stride and suddenly stopped screaming, looked up at Mom and said, "Can we do it again?" and went right back to crying!

It's a crazy phenomenon, and it's why I make my kids do every ride at least once. They tend to be overly dramatic (I don't know where they get that from :rolleyes1) and initially chicken. But they get over it if I force the issue. When I don't force the issue they remain chicken and never find enjoyment in things that initially scare (hence the reason I have a 9 yo who still can't swim . . . I didn't force the issue and she is still terrified to put her head in the water . . . if I had made her do it and learn at a young age we would be in a better place with that now in addition to her being more safe around water).

Hi everyone,

Just stopping by to congratulate all the fellow Dis'ers that have moved on to the final round. I know you are going through a whole mix of emotions...fear, excitment, anxiety. Hang in there and relax. You would all be great additions to our Moms Panel family and I wish you all the best of luck with the coming interviews. :wizard::wizard:

Seasonal really gets nothing but 20% off anything in the store even sale items and if hired by a certain date (which I was) 2 one day hoppers. If they keep me on and now I am really hoping they do, then I get 5 one day hoppers 2 times a year. Cast member rates in WDW, DLand DCL ect..., discount in store and parks. I think.....

Cool! I hope you can put those tickets to good use. It would be great if they don't expire, so you can use them at your leisure.:goodvibes

Hey guys,

Just catching up. Wow! What a lot of posts today!

Gloria, I am SO sorry to read about your decision. I am very proud of you for making the decision you did, and I am very sorry that neither Disney party would work with you.

I was so hoping the retail store would understand and help you out, if you made the Panel. What a coup that would have been FOR THEM if you had made the Panel! Can you imagine the promotions they could have had?

Girl, you definitely made the right decision. Family always has to come first! You know that and so all of us!

I know it was bittersweet, but you will still always be a Disney Mom, no matter if you have the official Disney "stamp" on your forehead or not!

Love you girl! :)

The first ride that sticks out most for me is the Haunted Mansion, esp the ballroom scene. I was curious how they did that. Love the quick-draw scene and the ghost playing the organ and the dancers.

And to this day, when we have to split up our party to ride, I try to go in the first car. That way, once you come down from the ballroom scene and your car straightens out, but right before the turn -- I have to knock on the back of the car behind us!

And of course the statues of the men-ghosts singing are just cool!

Hi Marshay!

Ah! So you're one of them- the 'knockers'! hehehehee... first time someone did that to me, I was like 'what the he**!!!'

Love the singing busts!

How are you on the renos? I like it! Whole thing seems a bit more coherent to me now... Would love to see that DL Halloween version!

Definitely a knocker! If the people behind us look like they are pretty cool folks, I'll do it to them, too. But don't want to scare a child or anything.

I like the renovations and would love to see the DL version, too.

Oh, and how could I forget about the backwards XIII clock?

I duno...I think cuz I will be working into January when I was going to be a Panel MOM...both could not happen at the same time :(

I was in Marlboro this week and SO tempted to apply for seasonal! We have a vacation just after Christmas so I am sure this would be an issue.

Are you at the new location in Natick? I am going to check it out next weekend when we take DD to American Girl for her b-day dinner.

Guys, I came down with a fever last night. Just letting ya know bc I won't be in the "waiting room" today. I'll be in bed . I'll catch up when I'm done feeling so yuck.

Marlboro's the store I worked in for a little while!! :D

That's so funny! I thought my dad was the only one that did that!! I still do it when my family gets separated like that too!

Hey Marc!! So glad to see you over here!! Welcome to the Waiting Room!!

Thank you so much Margaret! I'm trying not to think about it until the day of the interview, then I'll TRY to keep from hyperventilating!! :rotfl:

OK! No fair! Now I feel deprived! I've never been knocked!!!!! :rotfl:

NDM, I hope you feel better soon!

Congratulations to you all!! Can you remind me again when you find out who the final 10 are? I want to keep up with your journey. You all are so great and I hate it at each round when I see the disappointment. There's a place for all of us and for right now, it's on the Dis!! :goodvibes to all of you still in "the game"!!

Now, if you all are ok with us lurkers participating, I would love too. My first memories of WDW are from many years ago. I went right after it was open and I was about 8 years old. Even back then, I loved Main Street. My most vivid memory of an attraction at that time was also HM. I loved scary movies when I was little so I was just too amazed with it to be scared. Like others have said, the new renovations have been just awesome!! The changes made to some attractions make us want to go back to what was, but for this attraction, they were spot on. :thumbsup2 My grandmother lived less than an hour away so we went often even back then so counting how many times I've been is impossible! I've just never gotten over that magical feel so I'm still an addict!:rolleyes1
