2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

My only news this week is that we have finally decided, after quite a few years of back & forth decisions, that we are going add a puppy to our family. S/he will be either a black or chocolate lab (depending what mom delivers!) and will be home at the end of December. My girls are thrilled!!

OK. We moved back into our house over the weekend. Much of our house looks like a refugee camp. I don't know whether to or . Anyway, I'm trying to catch up with homeschooling, cleaning, moving furniture back and watching closely for Mom's Panel developments. It's good to be back with ya'll. I'm going to pop in here as I can today and tomorrow. Missed ya guys!

OHH!! That is so exciting!! We have 2 Golden Retrievers.. breed them too.
Labs and Goldens make such wonderful family pets. Congratulations on the new addition

How exciting!! Labs are GREAT for families, I grew up in a family that had them, and we had several litters of puppies- I have such fond memories of those pups chasing me around the yard! I have a humongous St. Bernard who is like my child (she was not thrilled with the appearance of a human child last year!) so I am such a dog person! I would love to get another St. Bernard but my mother said she'll disown me...

Health Update: I just called the hospital to get a copy of the mammogram report, went through massive rigamarole, then finally landed in someones voicemail box. Hopefully, she'll call me back and I can pick it up today. Now, I realize I'm not a doctor, but I figure I can look at it and see if there's anything I should be worried about- at least enough to know whether I should find someone to see me sooner than the 10th!

Lastly, do you think the finalists have already been picked? Meaning, do you think they did it last week, but are just sending out notices tomorrow? Or are they going through final, down-to-the-wire selections? What do we think? As if I'm not nervous enough...

I was thinking the same thing (have they picked the finalists yet?), and I thought why would they wait, if they have made the decisions? Surely the sooner the better, especially with childcare and travel arrangements to be made.

Do you think they might send the emails out today? I'm sure the date was stated as "around October 27th".

I wonder what they made of our photos ??? How much importance does our appearance have? Surely it adds something to our applications, otherwise why would they want it? (Hope it doesn't !! )

Well, I definitely have something to keep my mind off waiting for the next 24 hours....swine flu has hit our house!

My son's fever spiked to 103 yesterday and hasn't broken since even with Motrin! He is just hovering around 100. He also had the horrible deep and icky cough, so we went in this morning and he was confirmed to have it! So, he started on Tamiflu today and my doc even wrote a Rx for my daughter to fill if she starts to show symptoms and get a fever! I had a feeling it would hit us eventually. So, please keep us in your thoughts!

Well, happy waiting....only one more day!!!!!

Sending pixie dust for the restaurant. My DP and I used to work with our offices next to each other for 3 years. It is some of our fondest memories when we think back of the time we worked together. I hope the same for you!

I keep checking in wondering if they may release the 3 round finalists early to surprise everyone. Probably not but a girl can hope can't she?

There was a tweet @ the end of last week that they essentially made their choices...so I'm guessing it'll either be later this afternoon or sometime tomorrow. I don't think they'll go past that, since the phone interviews are supposed to be next week.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be recreating it any time soon. Had to finance the removal. There is no way we can finance remodeling. I'm stuck in my Refugee Camp for quite some time I'm afraid. Life sure is an adventure.

I love St. Bernards! If I had a dog, I'm pretty sure I'd get that kind (although DD5 would want the lab).

My guess is that the people are already picked, but they haven't sent out the notifications yet. Maybe they are really trying to get all their ducks in a row for smooth notifications of Round 3.

I don't have any hard facts on this, but here is what I have been told/read about other people's speculations.

There are 3 rounds before the final panel is picked.

20,000 applications were accepted. Round 2 took it down somewhere between 150-200. Round 3 takes it down to about double the amount of people they are selecting that year (so this year would be around 20 people according to that speculation).

This year only 10 people will be selected for the panel.

Close to 20,000 applied (or it might have been 20,000...no one has really said how many applied). We think they picked 150-200 to go on to Round 2. Then out of that, I'm guessing maybe 30 or so will go to Round 3 (anyone think this sounds right?). And out of that, 10 will make the panel.
