This was my favorite dessert, but when I looked up to get the name right, I realized they don't offer it anymore. From Kona Cafe. I think it was called the Kilauea Torte...it was SO GOOD.

I also really love Rice Cream in Norway, but no one else does so they never want to walk all the way over there to get one

Zebra Domes are another favorite too, as well as Dole Whip. It has to be the vanilla/pineapple mix though.

Can you tell I love this topic??

I agree with the closest snack being the best! This is a great way to experience a Disney trip!

I forgot how good that bread pudding was at Raglan Road! The bead pudding at 'Ohana is excellent too!

Now for the Rose and Crown, DH and DD sat there one day, supposedly cooling off while I scurried off to TT to get fast passes. I returned to the two of them laughing and have a jolly old time. Here they ordered two Cider and Blacks. I think they had two each but they swear they only had two!
It is blackcurrant cordial mixed with a hard cider. I was permitted to have just a swallow before the glasses were emptied. It was very tasty!


A Disney Dessert Mom's Panel? I guess I would not be eligible to put in an application for that panel. You see I am already ranked Professional in that field!

When you enter a restaurant and start the meal by ordering dessert, then an entree and finally your salad, then you can call yourself a pro too!

Today's topic is in honor of the previous yummy sounding threads about cake. After all, the pictures are already in people, and it is not healthy to loose 30 pounds in the what 6 or so weeks until the trip so let's talk about all of our favorite desserts/snacks in the Kingdom!

What is your favorite, must have dessert or snack while visiting Walt Disney World?

One of my very favorites is really not a dessert but a snack. It is offered mainly in the Magic Kingdom, in Adventureland, near the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. I know you can all guess what it is.

I love Dole Whip Floats!

Oh what a treat!

For those of you who have not had the experience a Dole Whip Float is an extension of a Dole Whip. A Dole Whip is a frozen creamy concoction of Dole pineapple juice that delights the tongue and leaves the most wonderful hint of Hawaii in your mouth! Now to this incredible frozen sensation they add more pineapple juice and then serve it with a straw and spoon! It is a relaxing and refreshing way to spend a nice break from attractions. There are plenty of places near by to sit but sorry for the downside; the area near by was recently made into a smokers area so you may have to move away from the stand to really enjoy the full effect of the pineapple sensation famously known as the Dole Whip Float!

So what is your must have dessert or treat?

I finally had a Dole Whip Float on our last trip and it was TERRIFIC!! Normally I get a Citrus Swirl from the stand behind Aladdin's Magic Carpet. YUM!

We were thinking of getting this for Christmas!!

Me too!! Actually, the Toy STory Mania game is practically our whole reason for wanting a Wii! I just checked Costco and they are selling the system for $194.99. I think that's a good deal but want to wait for BF to see if someone offers a super deal.

We get a caramel-nut apple upon exiting Magic Kingdom. Actually we get 2 of them for each of us -- one we eat once we get back to our resort ... the other we take on the plane with us and eat it the next day once we are back home.

This is my "cheer up ... you're not at Disney anymore but you are still eating their food".

Also, if we aren't doing the dining plan, then we try to get to Ghiradelli's for ice cream or shakes ... and eat them outside in that little area down by the water.

Good morning everyone! We had SNOW yesterday! I can't believe we had snow in mid October. It has been a long time since that happened around here. Big huge snowflakes too Thank goodness none stuck to the ground! So, here I am sneaking on at work...what is everyone else up too.

Wish I was walking down Main St. heading for the bakery and one of their coffee rolls...yum

OK, so I have a funny dessert story to share. It is one of those "I should have taped it for Funniest Home Video moments..."

My Mom and I are soft-serve junkies and not a lot of places near us serve it. So, we (me, Mom and her friend) head over to Mrs. Potts in Fantasyland for our daily soft serve fix, and as we are waiting in line people keep coming up to the window saying they need another cone since they had an accident. Finally it is my turn and sure enough, my Mom comes back with an empty cone and needs another, it was attacked by a seagull! So while I am waiting and they give her another, and she comes back again this time with a big seagull dent in the top of the cone. So I get my cone. As I am crossing the sidewalk sure enough a seagull is trying to dive-bomb my cone! I made it, with my cone still in one piece to a table with everyone else. As this is going on, cast members are cleaning up globs of ice cream off the sidewalk. They said when the ocean starts to get cold in January the seagulls come inland and sometimes they get aggressive. Well, it gets worse... a woman is walking towards us holding a Mickey head at her side, it is about 75% eaten. We are screaming "watch out!!" Before she can react a seagull swoops in from behind and grabs the popsicle stick right out of her hand and flies away with it! She just stood there like "What just happened to my Mickey Head?"

So now everytime we go to Mrs Potts we survey the area first for dive-bombing seagulls! I have never seen it happen again but it is just one of those things you will never forget!

My lawn still has snow on it this morning.
Yesterday I realized I don't have a snow brush or ice sraper in my car. October is too early for this. As long as we don't get an ice storm again this year I will be happy (no power for a week, house 40 degrees, power outages for months to follow... it was a blast-not!)

Those birds can behave soooo crazy!! On two occasions we have witnessed churros being snatched right from people's hands--one girl had the churro right up to her mouth when the gull swooped down and scooped it right out from her. Crazy!!! My niece is totally bird phobic so she is not too excited when we walk through Liberty Square and Frontierland and the birds are out in full force. LOL!!

As this is going on, cast members are cleaning up globs of ice cream off the sidewalk. They said when the ocean starts to get cold in January the seagulls come inland and sometimes they get aggressive. Well, it gets worse... a woman is walking towards us holding a Mickey head at her side, it is about 75% eaten. We are screaming "watch out!!" Before she can react a seagull swoops in from behind and grabs the popsicle stick right out of her hand and flies away with it! She just stood there like "What just happened to my Mickey Head?"

So now everytime we go to Mrs Potts we survey the area first for dive-bombing seagulls! I have never seen it happen again but it is just one of those things you will never forget!

Well, it's pretty cold where I live --- it's 55 today. We had to bundle up the boy before I sent him off to school (long pants, long shirt and jacket with hood) Drove up to the school and saw lots of people wearing gloves, hats and scarves!! That's how it works down in Tampa!! But, we're also the same ones wearing sweaters in 70 degree weather while all the northerners swim!! Still love snow though but glad we don't have it here.

this happened to my husband. we laughed so hard we had to sit down! He got his double decker cone and it was taking forever. he walks back with ice cream running down his hand and arm. the bird flew off mrs. potts roof, did a dive bomb on his scoops, got away with one and he caught the other in his hand. he didn't want to go back but i said, go back and tell them! they did laugh and say it happens all the time. as we walked away with the second cone, they were getting ready to take off again! we covered up the cone with our hands and walked away quickly. Now, we too, joke every time we walk past there and yes, those birds are there all the time STILL!

That very same day, we walked past the plaza restaurant outdoor seating area and a little girl was there with her hot dog, probably from Casey's. A bird flew off the roof, swooped in and stole the WHOLE HOTDOG off of her, right out of the bun! It flew right past me, i could almost reach and grab it. she was screaming, DADDY, THAT BIRD TOOK MY HOTDOG!!! It was funny, but she was crying, lol. poor thing.

Well, it's pretty cold where I live --- it's 55 today. Oh come now..70's is shorts, t-shirt and bathing suit weather. We are ready fr swimming at that temperature! Sweaters are for the low 50's and such. Today it was in the high 30's when I got in my car. Had my fleece pullover on. No need for a winter coat yet, thats for the 20's
