I just wanted to say to the R2's...GOOD LUCK!
I just wanted to say to the SOUR GRAPES, it's a contest and in contests everyone can't win. This year wasn't your year and maybe next year will be, but again might not be. What are we teaching our children when we as adults can't handle rejection. I know it hard, but we can't teach our children that when we loose something, it's acceptable to throw an adult tantrum and pick apart the process or say it was fixed or tainted. In life some win and some loose.
This was my second year applying and didn't make it past round 1 both times. I consider my family as a "Disney Family" and I think I know a ton about Disney but in reality (no personal attacks here) there is more to life then Disney. I love the Mouse and we try to go every year but I have a very rewarding life outside the World.
Just my two cents and again good luck everyone, I will be here to cheer you on to the next round!
Beckie - I have to say that I take great exception to the reference to "the SOUR GRAPES".
Perhaps you don't have any concerns with the application process this year. However, a number of us do. We are entitled to express our opinions, and I think we have done so in a respectful manner. Certainly until now, no one has engaged in any name calling.
I can assure you that I have not had any "temper tantrums" over the Panel selection process, and my concerns have nothing to do with my application being rejected. I've been down this road more than once

and had no problems or issues with the process in years 1 or 2.
What I do hope to teach my children as they get older, is to not be afraid to voice their opinions and to express their views, even when voicing opinions which are unpopular or when being chastised for doing so.
As previously mentioned, I have no problem if the Panel sees a value in promoting people with blogging, FB or twitter backgrounds. There are obvious advantages to that for Disney.
My problem with the process this year is with the errors which were made in the notification of successful Round 2 applicants.
What happened with Zanna is cause for significant concern. It shows that Disney did not exercise due diligence this year in ensuring that each and every person who was supposed to advance to Round 2 was properly notified. Fortunately for Zanna the error was picked up 2 days later, perhaps due to her online postings about her rejection email. But maybe others weren't as lucky.
For me, this casts some question on the legitimacy of the selection and/or notification process and, no matter how great my opinion of Leanne and Laura, it creates at least a perception of unfairness.
We all know this thread is read and watched by the Moms Panel Cast Members, and I truly hope that they hear these concerns and take steps to ensure that the errors and problems which occurred this year don't happen again.
That said, while there may have been a few errors in some applicants this year not being properly advised that they had advanced on to Round 2 (all of which may or may not have been corrected by now), it certainly seems like there is a great batch of Round 2 applicants this year to choose from, and I wish all the 2nd rounders the best of luck in advancing to round 3!
