2010 Fall Dining for DVISA Is Out (See FIRST page)'

Ok...here is my FD story which may throw a few people.

Back in January I called to see if I had any codes or offers in my name. I did..woohoo. The offer was for FD but only at moderate or deluxe resorts (it was not for QSDP that many people got). I booked it with the hope of being able to switch to POP at a later date to save some money. Since January I have called once a month just to see if I could switch and was told the same thing each time - no your code is just for moderates or deluxes. Hey, can't hurt to try.

Well, I figured that with the DVISA promotion maybe things would open up. So I called this morning and talked to a great CM, she put me on hold and tried with guest services. I was on the phone and been working with the CM for over an hour when I got disconnected.

Uh oh....so I didn't have time to wait on the phone again and had to get to work. I get to work and log on to the disney site to check and see if the CM that I got disconnected with followed through and SHE DID!!!

My reservation had been switched from FD at POFQ to POP (paid for upgrade to Regular DP) which saved me $305!!

Just called and there are only Lagoon View level and up available at the Poly for my dates :-( Thankfully I was able to get the 40% off pin and used that on the lagoon view as well, so it is almost 500 cheaper that way. Praying that a garden view opens up for at least one of those discount!!

Didn't work for me - I've been reading on these boards that some are able to upgrade for free from quick to basic? Is this true - Disney said that's an incorrect rumor. What's going on???

You have to pay it isn't free to upgrade. I guess I missed that rumor.

I know this post is like 20 pages ago but I wanted to ask your vacation dates. DD, DB and I will be at Pop 9/4 -9/11 and after days, weeks, years? on this thread, I'd LOVE to meet you in person (and anyone else who'll be down there then). Maybe we could have a little FD thread party one night? Actually did this a few years ago, had a "Glow Party" at the Hippy Dippy pool organized by the fabulous Keliblue, quite well attended. Anybody in? I'd be happy to start a sign-up thread over on the Dis Meets board.

So glad you all got what you've been waiting for, now remember BounceBack for next year!!!!

On some dates there may be a convention scheduled at CSR and they don't have rooms available to allot to free dining packages.

Hubby just phoned a few minutes ago and said he has more overtime booked and more coming up.

Now I'm eyeing AKL Club level, which is where I always wanted to go!

Does anyone know if you can apply FD to club level AKL?

The numbers aren't coming up too bad. About $550 more than what we were willing to pay at CSR without FD to begin with. Plus, I would not place a gardengrocer order for breakfast/snack stuff if we stayed there which I planned on at CSR.

And since this is our first trip, with not much hope of coming back anytime soon...

Is there a chance that if Pop is sold out that I have a great chance of getting ASMu? Also, Is the week of Labor Day better than the week we currently have booked (Sept. 12-18)? Help.

Sorry - nobody here knows the answers to that.. you'll have to call Disney to confirm availability.

That's odd.. I would call back. Others have been able to pay a fee to upgrade.

CM and supervisor both stated NO upgrade from quick to regular for values. How are some people getting switched?

I got it and I've already received my email confirmation. I'm not sure why they told you no......

For those who are waiting on their Disney Visa Cards:

I applied online yesterday and was "instantly approved" and could book online and choose Disney Rewards Card as payment for my reservation...so this morning I did and just called and applied the free dining promo with no problems.

This is how to get around the whole I don't have my card # yet issue as the # will be on the online ressie.

Just booked POFQ for 5 nights 8/20-8/25. No wait at all on the phone... DDP is for the mods and up and QSP for values.

Had orginally booked in July for DD's bday, but will now save $250 from going for 5 nights with the 30% pin code. DD will be 10 in Aug so now she'll be able to order off adult menus for free - where in July we were doing QSDP and she was booked as a kid.

Hopefully the flights will come down and I'll feel really good!

I booked POP, and upgraded to TS. I have my email confirmation and it's in black and white....try again.

My daughter and I have APs. If I had to buy 2 2 day base tickets- that's $320 - more than we would spend in a 6 night trip (can't afford table service restaurants - we usually just eat counter service) boo

I was prepared to buy 1 day base tickets but 2 day takes it out of my league.

Guess who got free dining??

Called just before 9am and didn't have to hold AT ALL! In fact, the CM picked up before the automated voice loop finished its script. I AM SO HAPPY!!!

Here's what CM told me: QS at values, DDP at mods and above; QS can be upgraded for $10/adult/day, $2/child/day. I am not sure if DH can join us or not, but she said there will be no surcharge if I add him, just the cost of his ticket and dining plan upgrade (has to be on same plan as DD and I). She said it's been busy, steady, but not too crazy. I asked about CSR and she said availability is very limited because they have to hold rooms for conferences that are planned but not fully booked yet- once conference room booking dates pass, there might be FD rooms opened up at CSR. Makes sense.

So.. I have DD15 and myself, POP standard room (with request for upper floor w/fireworks/Epcot view), 8/17-8/26, 10 day base tickets, upgraded to DDP. Total is $1556. Put $200 on my VISA, will use $800 in rewards dollars, so only will pay $556 oop plus airfare. NOT TOO SHABBY!!! Now I gotta get a free fridge! Have I mentioned that I am totally psyched, and TOTALLY late for work??

I just got it with a regular room a few min. ago. That is what I had booked already.

The cm told me he had to take another $200 Deposit. Does that sound right? I have added codes before and I didnt have to do that.

Nope....I hate when CMs say that. We've had CMs tell us before that we had to give them a 200.00 per room down payment when it was just 1 reservation number and 2 rooms and you don't. Now this year we did because we have separate ressie numbers (long story...added MIL and then dropped her off but it turned us in to a GG).

But the CM this morning just asked if I had a Disney Visa and verified the last 4 digits...no new charge. Which is good since they dropped my limit to my balance a few months ago LOL

You were right. I called back and they said "no you didnt have to give another deposit". She was very nice and credited the $ back. I knew it didnt sound right.

you can hold onto those two 2 day tix and apply the cost toward the renewal of your AP... whenever... it does not have to be done asap or even upon the current AP expiring...

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but is there is minimum stay requirement? I saw that you need to buy a 2day ticket, but didn't know if that meant the minimum stay was 2 nights, or something else?
