Thats not bad! I will look on Amtraks website. Thanks.

The route we are taking leaves at night so we sleep the entire way there. It then leaves again late in the evening around 7pm to come home. So we gain a lot of time in Disney or Universal...whichever it may be!

From Charlotte, it doubles for us. Honestly, that isn't to bad! Is luggage included? Or will that be extra?

Neither of those is true. You can get both those services at EVERY Disney resort. The room charging is option and dependant on placing a credit card with the front desk.

I dunno.. I miss the non-cloudy version of the DVD. The people in the clouds of Magic-land thing -- doesn't do a thing for me.
Ok....lol....again with their website.

I compared the Value resorts side by side and that is how I got the info. Geez.......they really need to work on that.

If you have a Disney Chase Visa you will get an email the day FD is offered
to DCV holders. That's how it was done the last several FD promotions.

Just wanted to point out that that's not always the case. For some reason I never get the email and others have reported the same.

To be sure, I just keep checking the Disney Visa Rewards site as well as these boards.

I feel exactly the same way! I keep watching the 2005 dvd from my first trip :cool1:

Thanks for the heads up on the free dining rumors BTW, I am anxiously awaiting May 3rd :)

i *never* get the email either!

I got the email last year, but it was my first year as a Disney Visa member, so maybe they just thought they would start me off on the right foot. LOL Wasn't even going last year, so surely I won't get it, being I am watching for it.

After reading this thread, and having a many of questions answered (thank you to all that have answered) I've decided, FD just isn't in the books for me. I would have to split my stay, not guranteed the same room... so I called and got the kids stay, play and eat free deal. I check in on 8/14 and it "saved" me $524 bucks... of course, I had to give up my $300 gift card, but I'm still ahead, so that is just fine with me. I'm just glad I don't have to stress over it anymore! :cheer2:

I have the Pop booked now but I've been crunching numbers and I'm seriously considering moving up to POR once FD is offered. It comes out to about $50 a day more than doing Pop and upgrading the QS to regular dining. Besides, I've stayed at Pop 5 times now soooooo....yeah, ya see where I'm going with it.

I'm looking at 10 nights and at Pop it would be around $1,800, vs $2,300 for POR. That's if they only offer QS at Pop and I have to pay for the upgrade.

What do you guys think?

P.S. By the way, for those worrying, since Visa holders aren't officially announced until well into the first day offered, the only ones that will be calling at the 7am mark will be folks like us. I don't seriously think they're going to run out of rooms that fast. I remember hearing of folks getting Pop into June when the promo was announced in April. They have even extended the deadline before as well.

:worship: You don't know how lucky you are! I just booked airfare to Disney and it cost me $2500 :scared1: roundtrip for two adults and two children and that's with seat sales......10 times as much!!!! I am sooo envious:sad:

OUCH! OUCH! :scared1: we paid just over $900 return nonstop!!!!! you really will want free dining!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Great.. I know there is no cabal worse than the 'jilted Disney vacationer' ...

Come on May 3 ... (rolls dice for no apparent reason) :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
oh please Disney, why are you making us wait!! It feels so "unDISNEY like".....some pixie dust please :rolleyes1

Luggage is included. I believe the site says 3 bags per person. It may be more expensive for you because you are closer than I am to your travel time. We booked our train tickets about 2 weeks ago for October travel.

I dont know when you are going, but I did the numbers for our trip for 4 (2 adults and my 11 yr old son, and 8 yr old daughter) The Pop Century (if they offer only QS and we upgrade to FD) is $2056 for 7 nights and if we stayed at POR the cost was $2340. Our travel week is October 1-October 8.

We did the free dining(upgraded to ddp) at POP in Dec with the Disney Visa and I got an email about a week before it was offered to the gp, and was allowed to book 2 days before the gp. With upgrade it came to $1183 for 2 adults for 6nights/7 days.

I know this was answered before.....I can't find it.

if FD is offered, can I just buy a one hopper for 3 days and still get FD for our entire stay (6 nights)?

ETA: we might be able to use my BIL's silver pass some of the others days to save us some $$

YES, you are only required to purchase a one day base ticket for everyone in your party to receive the dining. this is what I did a couple years ago, when I had an annual pass and 2 comp. tickets from working at the disney store. there were three of us, so we booked it with one day base tickets for all of us, once we got there, the other two upgraded their tickets to 7 day park hoppers. on our last day they used my two comp. tickets and I used my base ticket.
the dining is based on the number of nights you stay at the resort.

Just to note, you were only required to buy one base ticket per person in the past. So far we do not know if that will be the case this year (if FD is offered)...there's always the possibility they could require length of stay tickets. For those who only need the one ticket, hopefully that's all that will be required based on how it's been in the past...but don't be surprised if they change it.

If I were already content with stayiong at Pop, which you must enjoy, if you have stayed there so many times. I would stick with it. To me $500 is a lot of money.

However, if you are looking to try something new. Go ahead and upgrade to PoR. We have stayed at all three levels, and really to me they are all nice. I am not one of those in the "Once you go deluxe you will never turn back group".

Canadian Guy, do you think there is anything to the new announcement on the Disney Visa site that the site will be down on Sunday for maintenance b/w midnight and 6 am and that "some" rewards info will not be available until 8am? Coincidence with your rumor?? or is this a normal Visa thing? I don't normally go to the site but have been recently to check on any promotions for FD. TIA!
