I really don't think that is likely to happen, although anything is possible.

I agree with you on this one, although I do know anything can happen, I have been able to upgrade existing reservations to free dining when it was announced for the past two years. I am hoping it works the same way this year!

What time do the new promos usually appear on their website?:wizard:

It does me no good since I will not be going till November and then not sure if it is a savings since there is only one of me. This will be great for Family for sure. Us singles really get the boot when it comes to some of these offers. Oh well I still will be at WDW no matter what just eating at a lower class then I would like.

Just to throw some fuel on the fire, I'm seeing the same May 3rd date from my sources as well (which may be the same as CanadianGuy's). It looks like a foregone conclusion that values will get QS, with mods and deluxe resorts getting the regular plan. However, its $10 per person to upgrade to a regular plan if you stay in a value, while moving up to a moderate resort is around $70....so its a matter of preference.

how much is it for a child (under 10) to upgrade to the ddp? never mind I see its $2 :)

I can totally understand that. What kind of deal works best for you? Percent off or 4/3 or maybe the gift card one? I know I have received several percent off codes by pricing packages through Disney's site and saving them and by creating an itinerary on there. Maybe you could try that. I am sure something public will come out for November. It is still early for those codes.

That "rumor" is completely FALSE. I already called and the CM said no problem...they'll just add the code to your reservation when it comes out.

This is what I was told my the CM also when I made my August ressie. To just call back if/when free dining comes out and they will apply the code to my ressie.

My parents went to Disney December 09 and they booked through AAA. Their agent actually called them to tell them of the FD offer (they had no idea) and added to their package no problem. The same with my Aunt and her family. They booked through Disney though. She is always watching the boards for codes and is a DV holder. She was already booked and when the QSFD came out they just added to theirs as well.

But even though they were both able to no problem I always worry, because nothing ever seems that simple for me :sad2:

I only said the rumor was out there about new bookings. Read the fine print for the Disney Cruise Line deals and it specifically says new bookings only. They have done the change there already. Hopefully it isn't true but you never know. Doesn't do us any good anyway, a room discount is better for us than paying rack rate for a 2 bedroom villa at the BW with the free dining.

Nothing would stop you from canceling your reservation and re-booking. The only way you couldn't do it is if you were inside the 45 day limit. They don't keep your name in some sort of penalty box that says "this person has already booked and canceled". The cruise line is a different animal altogether since they charge penalties for canceling....

DCL and WDW operate differently with their bookings so you can't really compare the two.

Early booking doesn't guarantee you'd get the promo, but neither does a new booking either. It's simply based on how many rooms and room categories are allocated at each resort. Once they're full, they're full...regardless of when you decide to book.

oh I'm hoping for a later end date than 10/2. Thanks for the update.
