Please please tell me why it is I"m so addicted to all of this :worship: now I'll be spending the remainder of my day figuring out the best QS places to eat! I mean I already had one a day planned out, but now I'll be on a quest to have at least one a day that offers healthier options nonfried and with some kind of veggies as a side :upsidedow is there a thread going with that sort of info? ;)

Ask over in the Dining & Restaurants Board for healthy Q/S choices.

Personally.. I love some of the choices in the "The Land" building at Epcot.. VERY delish.

don't tempt me.....I'll give the entire board my cell phone number if it means I get FD at Pop! I just won't show my hubby the bill. LOL

:lmao: That's the boat I'm in. I'll have my cell with me at the hospital...I have unlimited text. If it releases on the 26th (though I'm thinking a later date), someone better be texting me... :rotfl2:

Man...if the DVISA peeps get the deal on the 29th, it will be an exciting day in my house. My DH has been online stalking the release of the new cell phone he wants for us...the latest rumor for release is the 29th as well.

I can picture it, me waking at the crack of dawn to speed dial Disney reservations while he runs out the door to wait for Verizon to open. My poor kids.....:rotfl2:

ok so i am new at the dining plan here, we are booked at ft wilderness 8-20 to 8-28 with dining now. my AAA travel agent said she will re-do my reservation to get the free dining. Will that work?? she says they do it all the time. I know she has her eye out for me for the free dining, as i have been torturing her ever since the free dining rumors !!

BTW... wondering...when free dining does finally come out...what will everyone do with their extra time since no one will need to check the board 24/7???:confused3

we will have to all move over to the resturant boards to discuss our dining ressies:thumbsup2

wow I should have posted this morning when there was only one page:lmao:
here is a pic of Fantasmic last Sept. (ignore the date on the photo I never set the camera up)

disney09OKW182.jpg

this is the reason that I have been (mostly) confident that they will offer free dining or some other good promo for Sept. look how empty it was!

I remember them cutting the show times last year when we were there. Ww could not get in ! Packed solid with a waiting line. :confused3

yes it was, because I stayed at POP and had regular dining

our problem is we booked the bounceback but need to add one more person and one more room. the bounceback was for regular dining. if they offer QSDP then we can't just book another room and take my son of my res. and onto that room, because he'd have to pay for the upgrade. we may just end up sharing one room if that happens

Thanks guys, will take your advice and stay at POP, and probably upgrade to reg DP, once QSDP is announced. I could SWEAR that the Reg DP was free with Value resorts during last years promo ( the one that started Aug 16)wasn't it?

So, I am already booked for a split stay trip in August with the 30%, 35%, 40% PIN. The first week is at POP. Since it is a better deal for us to apply a free QSDP discount to that first week (the second week is at the Poly, so we will keep the 40% discount), I guess that I will need to stay tuned. The problem - my wife and I will be in WDW the first week of May. How is it possible for a trip to WDW to give me a headache? :headache:

So - question - can we change our reservation from our room phone if this discount comes out while we are there? If so, do we have to wait on the same call queue as those calling in from outside, or is there a separate reservations group for existing guests? :confused3

Thanks in advance... :goodvibes

We're already booked at POR from Aug 31 - Sep 14 and we've already made ADR's. All we would have to do is have our TA call and add on the FD package when it comes out, correct?

We have 10 days scheduled in the parks, but will be dining for 14 nights. Still OK?

Yes. There is a button for 'Reservations' or check the Bounceback offer sheet in your room for another number to call. Or simply dial the front desk and ask for reservations.

I suspect it's the same phone queue as those calling from the outside.. except for the BB offers.. But again - not sure.

Yes - provided there is availability at POR for the dates you have picked.

If, for any reason, there is not, the CM on the phone will suggest alternative resort choices for your dates and inform you of any changes in cost.

Your ADR's, tickets and so forth aren't affected unless you end up changing dates.

Whether it's a new or existing reservation, you'll still be in the same queue. The difference is that instead of giving brand new info over the phone, you generally just need to give your ressie confirmation number and sometimes your phone number so that when you get on the line with a CM, he or she will have it pulled up for you. But there isn't a separate "existing reservations" call center. The CMs deal with both new and existing.

Just be aware that it's quite likely you'll have to cancel your discounted room only ressie and book a new ressie if you want a new promo. If you want to do split weeks with a different promo for the different weeks, it will likely have to be booked as two separate ressies.

Knox:

You're like the NSA or CIA. :cool2: Several unrelated unidentified sources. Gotta love that. It adds a huge measure of reliability to the rumor. I can't tell you what a huge relief even a rumor is, . . . to all of us!!

wow really? We were there the begining of sept. I would have prefered for Fantasmic to be a little more crowded, it just didnt feel right to me...I was sad for Mickey:sad1: when he came out no one even cheered it was sooo quiet!!! At one point I think I yelled something like"come on people its Mickey Mouse!" it took the audience a while before they started clapping. It was strange. The quietest(except for my family) Fantasmic I have ever seen...

I think you can always upgrade just have to pay the difference. We are upgrading because we have done DXDDP several times now and LOVE it. So, depending on your budget I say go for it! :)

Been surfing the board for a few months now - First post :)

Currently booked at a mod if the do offer the free dining what would the cost be to upgrade to DXDDP?

Ok this is what Happened to us last year. We went in Ocotober it was the QSDP at the values. We opted to do the RDP because we got a pin in the mail. So free upgrade. But in all honesty I would do the QSDP in a minute. To many adr's for us. We usually do the character meals for the kids more than anything. But the only 2 we really want to do this year is NOrway princess breakfest and Garden Grill. MAybe crystal Palace also. But we are going for 9 nights and 9 ADR's is to many for us.

I'm hoping the values are the QSDP than I can change my bounce back offer to the new one. But I'm so glad that I did the bounce back because it is better than no free dining. I'm probably in the minority in wanting the QSDP.

Just wanted to say HI to another Mainer!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks - we booked them as separate reservations in anticipation of this possibility.

O.K., so I've been lurking for weeks reading about all of the speculation. And, started to get scared that we might have to change our resort (we've been booked since last November) when/if free dining came out. So, today I began pricing my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. options if we can't keep WL. But, then I started wondering (hence my reason for finally posting), do Disney Visa card holders have a better shot at adding the free dining onto an existing res. since they get first dibs at the promo? Or, is there a separate "pot of rooms" set aside just for Disney Visa card holders? Also, when I call to try to add on the new promo when it is released, do I just need to tell them that I have a Disney Visa in order to get the promo earlier than the general public? Thanks for all the fun reading these past few weeks! :thumbsup2

Ok, I have a question, instead of just lurking and commenting........

If I booked through a TA and paid my $200 deposit to the TA, can I call Disney myself and have my ressie switched? For example, I currently have ressies as ASMu, but if FD comes out, my budget can swing going to a mod. Do I have to do this through the TA or since I have my ressie number, Disney themselves can do it for me. I'm just concerned that I won't be able to reach my TA in time and that I'll miss out on getting FD with POR!!!! Anyone??? :confused3

Just wanted to say thanks Knox for posting (even if it is just a rumor) - this made us so much more excited about our trip in September! Keeping fingers crossed!

Ann, I believe you'd have to go through your travel agent. We had a similar situation last year when we went. I was disappointed that I had to wait to hear back from her instead of just making the changes myself.

In the past, Disney Visa cardholders were offered the promo a few days before the general public got it. I believe the rooms are all one big pot, not so many for the Visa holders and so many for the public...I'm pretty sure it's just a set amount at each resort (but really don't know what that amount is, it can vary from one resort to another). If they release it to the Visa holders first and you have one, you have to place at least the deposit on that card. Just saying you have the card isn't enough because anyone can say they have it.

Any reservation made by a TA needs to be dealt with/taken care of by that TA (and Disney has told this to guests who've utilized a TA but tried to makes changes to their ressies on their own). You would not be able to do it yourself.
