Ok, that makes SO much more sense now. I was reading the site thinking "how could this possibly NOT suck?!?" It said under transportation that you have to schedule 24 hours in advance, limited seating... if you can walk then it's not so crazy.
Do they give you free transportation from the airport? All I could find was the coach you can rent. (would cost us $80 or so per way for us :scared1:)
For us with the current offers US would still be a more expensive trip than Disney though. Maybe that is why Disney isn't reacting to them.

I think Disney is reacting to them. This is what I came up with. Keep in mind...I am not using any discount for our time frame since nothing has been released from Disney yet.

For our family 2 adults and 2 kids...ages 11 and 8.

US/IOA at the Hard Rock Hotel for 1 week. $1052 add tickets (park to park) $711. For a total of $1763.

Disney at the Pop Century same time frame with tickets with park hoppers and no water park is $2040.00. So for us...going to Universal is $300 cheaper and we are staying in a 4 star resort, and have front of the line access.

I'm getting stressed!! We are going Oct 7th and won't be able to reap any benefit from the rumored promo coming out soon that is rumored to be thru Oct 2nd. This means I will have to wait even longer for any type of promo for my travel dates.

FD for my upcoming trip would be great and will save us appox $374 (it's me, my mom and DS7) I'm now wondering what the chances are that I will get a bounceback offer while there in Oct. Any idea?? I have my talked my husband into a family vaca (DH, DS16, DS7 and me) Aug 2011 at Coronado Springs if bounceback with free DDP is offered. What are the chances??

So I went ahead and added the free kids to my ressie. This is an ok discount for us since we have 3 kids in the right age range (9,8,6). Here's the breakdown:

8/21 - 8/31
POR
9 day tickets with WPM

Originally with dining - $4364.95
Kids free Dvisa - $3400.35
Free Dining (if, or rather when) - $3165.45

So free dining is the best option.

I must say, this Free Dining thread is MUCH more civil than the other one I've subscribed too. I cannot believe all of the name calling and such going on over there. I don't dare post anything because I don't want my words getting all twisted around and misunderstood. Thanks for being a great group of DISers! Let's hope us Disney Visa cardholders hear something on Thursday! :goodvibes

You are so right about that other thread, it really went crazy today. I should have known something was going on over there when I saw there were several more pages since I checked this morning. At first I thought maybe something about free dining had been announced, sadly that wasn't it! So I'm staying here from now on. Hoping to hear good news soon!

Terri

Those waiting for later fall discounts. You still have a very good chance of getting something good offered. It is pretty early yet. Have you checked mousesavers to see when they are hystorically offered? Free dining could very well be extended, if it is offeed again this year. Last year it was originally only offered until something like Oct 3RD as well. I think it was a month or two later that they extended it. I wouldn't keep my hopes up too high, being there is a pretty good chance it won't even be offered for the usual dates, but anything is possible.

With all the pages you would think something was released but nope...nothing...nada:lmao:
I think that the waiting is getting to people...just having more offers come out for summer and nothing for the fall...CRAZY!!!:surfweb:

Two questions?

Where's Knox?

What's up with extending the Visa Kid's promotion into fall? (I'm a DINK!!! Double Income No Kids. But I still want a fall promo!)

still patiently waiting:surfweb:...hoping for some good signs this week for fd to gp May 3rd.:cool2:

Been wondering the same thing! I think he needed a mental break:lmao:

Love that phrase!!! Too funny
:rotfl:

if Dink means Double income no kids.....I'm SICK, Single income carload of kids.....or hmmm, is there already a name for that LOL? Anyhow...the kids free doesn't do much for us either...even with all these kids. We have 5 children but 2 are Disney adults so the free dining deal is our best discount.

That's not bad at all. Your still extremely close to the savings free dining would give you. Congrats :goodvibes

I did the same thing yesterday.:thumbsup2

3 AD 2 disney children (6,3)

POR 9/22-10/01 8 day base tix

Originally w/DDP: 4230.26
Kids Free Visa: 3613.41
Free Dining (IF/when): 2880.71

Free dining wins here, but I thought I should call and add Kids free visa incase of no availability at POR. Well, at least untill we figure out an alternitive plan.

I have been following this thread and many others for months now. I finally decided to join in when I received what I think is good news for Free dining.
My family and I are already booked with a bounce back offer for free dining in August, but my DB decided he wanted to bring his girlfriend. Here lies the problem; he does not want to be in the same room as Mom and Dad with his girlfriend. Sooooo, I have been hovering these boards for any info on FD for the general public as we cannot book another room with our bounceback.
Anyway, enough with the background I called Disney travel co. today to ask a question about trying solve my problem of being in the middle trying to plan for everyone in my family and DB not being happy staying with Mom and Dad and trying to find a solution since FD has not been offered.
The CM stated that just wait one more week and check back early next week and we can alter reservations and everything will be fine. I can only infer that means that FD must be coming out and I will be able to alter our current plans.
Please don't attack me, I just thought I would pass along what I though was great news.....:cheer2: :cheer2::cheer2:

I would never attack you, or anyone on these boards! I'm glad you posted and hoping you are correct.:banana:

I just received the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Pin today which offers the Kids 3-9 Play & Eat Free (does not mention QSDP like Disney Visa one) but only for trips between May 2-June3 - book by May 8. And the other offer was just the regular Summer room only discount. So perhaps at the end of next week the FD offer will come out.

I love to hear the good reports from CMs, but sadly there are some that are reporting the exact opposite. I hope the good reports are the correct ones. ;)

Thank you for being so nice...I did not mean to offend anyone. I just read a lot of mean things on the the other free dining thread today (before it was deleted) and was a little afraid of posting. Anyway, I also hope that the CM was accurate, but she sounded very confident:goodvibes

I think the difference for me is that in August POP is $82-$92/night. The US hotels are the same prices as they are in Oct when Disney raises the hotel rates- so it is $50/night less. I also like to do dining so we don't have to think about what we are eating, the dining passes at US actually charge for my one year old. The overall pass is less, but that just irritates me. I dwell on stupid things like that.
I'm glad you can get a good rate though, you said you've been a few times so that is cool that your family can happily alternate between the destinations. I think if we went we would spend the whole time wishing we were at Disney. Obsessed doesn't even start to describe my family.
