**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Breaking news!

I was calling Disney Dining to see if I could squeeze in for something next month, and while I was talking on the phone, the cast member (who actually has worked at Disney and not just a regional call center) just got some info yesterday for a "test event" next month.

As of this posting , this event is not on the official Disney.com food and wine page.

Details:

The event is called, "Scott Hunnel's Victoria and Albert's Experience". It won't be Chef Hunnel, but he's overseeing it, teaming up with Cat Cora.

It sounds like it will be appetizers, wine and cheese, not a full dinner. But I think it would be interesting to see what a "Chef Hunnel Experience" would entail.

Location: Kouzzina at the Boardwalk
Time: 6:30pm
Price: $115 pp (probably tax not included, didn't check)

It may or may not be worth the price, but anyone who will be at WDW on October 24 might want to try it out. If you do, I want details!

We'll be at WDW on October 24 and have nothing planned that night..... Hmm, do I want to add another pricey event to the itinerary?

Thanks for posting this!

We're interested but I hesitate to book without any additional information. Also, what happens if, since it is a test event, Disney cancels it? Do we get a refund or no?

Does anyone have any additional information or links (it doesn't appear to have popped up on the official sites yet)? Can we book it just by calling? And is it weird this event is on the same night as the V and A signature dining event? Thanks in advance for any info!!

Hmmm...Maybe I'll ask DH to call (he is so much better at schmoozing :goodvibes )

Edited (at 750 pm) to add : My husband just called to book this/get more information. The cast member had no idea what we were talking about. Any more info?

Sounds like it could be good, but we leave the 22nd....darn!

DD has me almost talked into booking this..... If we find it really exists!

When I told DH about another Cat Cora event, his first question was what the booking phone number was! I'm assuming the DisBoards will have information up sooner than other sites. Plus we're going to call every day for the next few days and will post any info if/when we get it.

The event info came out yesterday according to the CM I spoke to at the regular Disney Dining line.

I specifically asked for the name of the event. I think I would ask them to look for special events if they could. Scott Hunnel's name was part of the event name.

If not, maybe they could view the event by the date? I'm not sure. It's probably not on the radar of most cast members.

Is there a private room at Kouzzina? Because, there are dining reservations available on October 24.

Thanks...we weren't sure if it was the regular line or not. She searched by date and came up with the sweet sunday brunch, wine lunch, and the V and A thing. We're thinking in a few days either the CM's will have more info or (more likely :lmao: ) additional info will pop up here!

Great minds think alike...we checked that too!! :lmao:

Man my dates this year suck. I would be all over that event if I was there Oct 24th!

Hello all,

Briarrosie I noticed you will be attending the Wave signature dinner. We went last year and really enjoyed the evening. The food was good and the wine never stopped pouring. I posted some pics on the restaurant review board.

Thanks - wish I could join you....Did I hear that Chef Hunnel is going to the Disney Dream?

With the 10/24 date and the Boardwalk location, I'm wondering if this is actually one of the Grape Getaway components and perhaps they haven't sold enough of the packages. There was supposed to be a reception event at Atlantic Dance Hall (Boardwalk) that night tied in with the package.

I had forgotten about the Grape Getaway. It's a strong possibility they are going to open this event up to the general public, but maybe the CM jumped the gun on me? Maybe it's still listed as a private event for now.
