**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Well, I guess I had good cause to worry when I didn't receive my email last week... The girl who took my reservation did not book the package, even though she went back and forth with her supervisor about it. I only have a room and the Sat. Night Mixology class is SOLDOUT as of this morning! :drinking1

If I'm lucky they could have a cancellation, but until then, I have booked the Friday night class!

On Saturday, I'll be the face on the outside smushed against the glass and waving to all the partyers on the inside! :wave2:

Well that stinks!! It seems to me that they would have figured out a way to get you in, considering you booked the room package. That makes me angry for you. Sorry!

Oh dear, I'm so sorry but I may be in the same boat as you. I still have gotten nowhere after e-mailing again and receiving a phone call from them all they can tell me is that I have a $100 deposit confirmed!:headache::headache::headache: I'm ready to just give up.

Don't give up Kat - call them back - Jason called and just confirmed that our names are on the Mixology class list! They were nice when he called - :hug:Send good vibes!

Hold out hope and call back a couple times Disbug - also write an email and say you booked a package! Good things happen to those who are persistent!

This will be our first trip for the Food and Wine Festival. Does someone have a list of what seminars were offered last year, so I might get an idea of what is offered?

I can't find a list but Brenda does the best (in my opinion) reviews on the boards - here is her Food and Wine review last year and it has a couple seminars in it - plus it's just funny and gets you in the food and wine mood! :thumbsup2

Sorry if you are in the same boat as me, TigerKat:confused3 It definitely stinks, shovan... cause we know there are going to be good times at THAT seminar! :woohoo:

I think I just booked too early, before they really knew what was going on... and by the luck of the draw I got someone who was apparently inexperienced. Tony told me to keep calling back and if he could get me in, he would. He mentioned there are only 25-26 spots in each seminar, and the only one that sold out was the Sat. night Mixology! So I think I know who is responsible for that! BENDIE's FRIENDIES! :goodvibes

I agree, Chelsi! Thank you much for the links to the Foodie Review by Brenda. She is terrific!:thumbsup2

I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone yesterday afternoon, so I tried calling today and got the same "sold out" notice for Mixology. I was so annoyed that I waited so long to book, that I didn't not book anything yet. I might call back tomorrow for a different seminar. The gal on the phone told me that they might open more space as the time gets nearer for more people to attend, but that's annoying.

I guess I could still go to another seminar, but I would have prefered Mixology.

I will certainly try to call & again confirm our booking. I did not receive a booking confirmation number, just Mr. Sweeney's confirmation that we did indeed book the Mixology seminar for 10/9. But now I am really worried!

shovan, I wouldn't worry; if Mr. Sweeney confirmed you were on the list, you are probably good to go! I just think it's funny that I had a confirmation number but didn't get put in the class!:upsidedow I guess that'll teach me for next time to double-check. (re: call back and ask someone else!)

BriarRosie, Tony also mentioned they might hold a second class for Mixology on Saturday if there is enough interest. He talked of combining some people from other classes that only have 2 or 3 people signed up into one class as well. :headache: So they are looking at solutions... ( I wonder what the "Bubbling, Sake, Bordeaux, Mixology" class will be like?) ;)

:rotfl: My BF and I are booked for the bubbles class, but I think he would enjoy a bubble/sake/bordeaux/mixology class.

We are supposed to be booked for Bubbles...However after reading all of the above I called to see what the confirmation number is for Bubbles. The agent right now has me on hold. I am going to go back and find the information on Mr. Sweeney.

She's back - she says the confirmation number is the same as the room reservation number.

Just signed DH and I up for the beer seminar on Saturday! :drinking1 I'm so happy to see this, hopefully the seminar is as good as the brewers dinners they used to have years ago at F&W. :thumbsup2

How are you already booking thse bubbly or beer seminars? I thought they didn't open until Aug 26th for booking?

Where did you see this listed and where did you sign up?

Interesting. So am I reading correctly that you can sign up for just the beer seminar but it costs $50? That seems like a lot.

The $50 also gives unlimited sampling of foods and beverages set up at stations on the causeway between the Swan and Dolphin.

Advance purchase event-only tickets are available for $50 and include one seminar and unlimited food and beverage samples on the causeway.

Has anyone used a Disney Rewards card (from the Disney Visa) at the food kiosks? I'm wondering if the Rewards card will work, or if I have to convert it to a gift card?

I have used my Rewards Card and they definitely work if the machines are working. It's best to have some cash in case there is an electronic meltdown.
