**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

If I remember correctly - there were boxes you checked - I also checked DVC as I had that number handy. I actually do not recall if our TIW card has a number on it. The old Disney Dining cards did. But if you have your number, that is all that matters....

I was trying to check on what I attended last year and all I have is a date and a time.

Last year was our first year at food and wine festival, and I did not even know it was happening until about a month prior to us going.

And I DID NOT check these boards ... I know shame on me..... and then I found out like I said about a month prior and the only thing we went too was the Makers Mark demo and my DH had a wonderful time and has been talking about it for a year.

After looking at what is available, I have a feeling he is going to be disappointed in this years options. BUT he will be happy anyway, he will be with me :):rolleyes1

WOOHOO!!! Thank you Disney! Guess our CM was just not informed! Thank goodness...Now, down to business picking out what to register for tomorrow. I'm not even goin' complain about the last minute posting of these, just going to find my favorites!

What is a Red Newt? :confused3 I will need to look some of these demonstrators and 'features' up online! Did Disney send a dictionary for these deminars?

Just looked it up. It's a winery in the Finger Lakes Region of New York.

A quick way to find out about the wineries and chefs is to highlight them on the booking website and right click the highlighted area. There ought to be a drop down that says: "Search Google for xxx" Then you can read about the ones that are unfamiliar.

I am a bit stressed! Having just found this out, and realizing we can book tomorrow...but my traveling party is out of touch! So I'm trying to make this easy for them by reviewing on my own.

One Bev. Demo we would be interested in the Belvidere Vodka one, but we only have one opportunity...on 10/15 at 6pm. BUT we have the 3D dessert discovery at 7pm...Do you think we'd have enough time to do both? If the Demo is 45 minutes, we should be able to make it from FWC to where the 3D dessert party will be held (Where PFTS is, right?)...in theory at least?? I DO like to be early for things so getting to the Dessert party right "on time" will probalby stress me out a bit.

Any one have any thoughts?

Thanks!
Lisa

Elin, thank you for that quick little tip!

How fast did the deminars book up last year for the popular chefs? I have meetings all day tomorrow and won't be able to book until lunch time probably - will I still have a chance at getting tickets for Jamie Deen? He seems to be the only one that I would have to jump at right away (and maybe Chef TJ).

Yep. My boyfriend and I both know it (we live in the Finger Lakes Region) but we can't remember if we've ever been there or tried their wine... I can tell you that this region is known for it's Rieslings & other whites. Reds tend to not be that great unless it might be a Pinot Noir or from the more southern regions of NYS.

Angel... the portions were minuscule. Hopefully they have really addressed this problem.

And, although I diet before I leave for the F&W Festival, I don't worry at all when I am there.

Thank you Elin for the information. I hope the samples and pours are a bit larger this year. I have to go back and use your trick on the schedule of right clinking and getting a google or bing site. Great information, now just have to see what we can work into our schedule. :thumbsup2

This was the pour at last year's Moet & Chandon seminar:

I didn't think the pour was terrible, but I certainly wouldn't call it a good deal. We enjoyed the seminar last year, but there's no way I'm heading to Epcot every morning to find out what's going on that day.

Great info Lilspark, Thank you. Does not look too bad of a pour, I could live with that. I was invisioning a shot glass with a quarter inch in it. :rotfl:

A shot glass with 1/4 inch in it would be more than we got at the culinary demonstrations! Let me see if I can find a picture of that.

Here is a typical wine pour at a seminar:

Here is the pour we had at the Jim Beam bourbon seminar:

And here is a pour from a culinary demonstration (borrowed from oybolshoi's reviews)

The festival guide shows the following guests TV personalities:

Warren Brown
Jamie Deen
Todd English
Robert Irvine

I don't see them on any of the schedules (unless I've overlooked them?) Does anyone know where/when their appearances are going to be?

TIA!!

I see Warren Brown on October 9th at 5 PM (and October 11th)... and Robert Irvine on Oct 24th at 1 PM. Jamie Deen on October 16th.

I am so grateful for the fact that I don't have to worry about going to see Warren since I get to see anytime I want since Cake Love is right near my office. He is at the various locations once a week....pretty awesome person!
