**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Poor John, his episode did add to the memorable evening ... at least for the rest of us!

We were hoping we didn't hurt the meal. I don't know if I mentioned that we were there with another couple, both doctors. When we got back to BLT, there was a message from Israel, saying he talked to the EMT, and he knew John was fine. The next morning, Chris called to get our credit card and they refunded the meal for the 4 of us. I thought that was very kind of them. Then later on that afternoon there was a knock on the door, 2 bags were delivered from Israel, filled with goodies. There were 2 books about Italy, 2 aprons, 2 bottles of wine and a huge truffle.

Needless to say, they went above and beyond!!! We went back about 4 days later and we had a fabulous dinner.

Not knowing what happened (glad your husband (??) is ok), but that sounds like Israel. DH is a monorail pilot and has spent many a day backstage at the Flo talking with Israel, Scott and Amy. They are some of the most gracious people that work at WDW.

Anybody have this happen-yesterday morning I booked the Mexico Tequila Tasting and the Taste, Shake and Indulge like the French events for the 29th and 30th of October, respectfully. Gave my debt info and the money was taken out of my checking account right away. This morning I checked my back account out of habit and one of the charges was missing. I went to the Disney website and checked my reservations and the tequila tasting is there but the TS&I was not. I wrote down the reservation #s so I entered it and nothing came up. I called Disney, gave them the # and my name and the man said it was there and everything was fine. He said the reason I could not look it up online was because there was no phone number attached to it. (kicking myself now for not having him attach my #, but I can call back.) So anyone have any ideas as to why that could happen?

Sorry this is so long. :goodvibes

Our Taste, Shake and Indulge is not listed with our other reservations either. I guess the Bistro didn't want to list their telephone number with the event. :confused3 The other 3 events we booked are listed. All the charges are 'pending' on our credit card.

see, now I'm getting that Disney anxiety, because my California Grill reservation is linked to the wrong room reservation. I won't be at that resort on October 21. But she put the wrong reservation in and rather than have it redone and lose the spot, I asked her to book it anyway. I don't think that makes a difference though.

My mom and I went to PFTS in 2008 and absolutely LOVED it and couldn't wait to go back. We went at Christmas last year so, no dice... but were lucky enough to get Wine View Lounge spots on 10/23 (the day before my birthday) this year! Can't wait!! Also the first year we're doing to the Deluxe Dining Plan (we usually do the Basic) and have umm.. 14 reservations lol.. I see food in my future! :rotfl: :woohoo:

I can't pull up any of my reservations. They didn't ask me for a hotel reservation # and when I go to the dining reservations & type in the confirmation numbers the system tells me it can't retrieve my reservations.

Hmmm.. I wasn't even aware you could see your F&WF reservations on the site but I just checked and mine does come up. I'd call tomorrow and find out what's going on.

What does it mean when you can see some but not all of your reservations? My 3D dessert party reservation is missing...

It means the site is in its usual buggy state. :) For us, the 3D dessert and the Grand Marnier events are throwing up an error (maybe because they're both new this year?) while everything else was fine. I called back to confirm that they were really there, but it would be nice to have a printout in case there's a problem at check-in.

*throwing up* being the operative term... :rotfl2: Thanks for the reassurance!

They didn't have the PFTS 15 years ago.

10 years ago they had an event called the Grand Tasting (similar but much smaller, I'm sure you remember those.

I have a glass from 2002, I think that is the earliest one I have.

I do but PFTS ( does consider them as the starting point) I remember very
well being herded like cattle in the Odyssey.

If you stay at a Disney resort, you can have the lobby concierge print out all your reservations. There may not be a real need to have a printout now. At least these are all paid in advance and not cancellable, so a CM can't cancel them by mistake while checking them. apparently that happens sometimes.

Boy, isn't that the truth. That has happened to me!

I can pull up six of our ticketed events, but I cannot pull up two. It's not just that TSI is at Bistro that is the problem, because I can pull up both of our French Regional Lunches.... but I cannot pull up TSI. I also cannot pull up the 3D party. VERY WEIRD!!! I'm going to call and see if I can get them to email a confirmation manually since it is not showing up on my end of their system.

Personally I am not going to worry about whether or not I can pull the event up online. I have a confirmation number, I've paid for the event, and they're gonna let me in.

Good morning!
I have been searching far and wide for any reviews on last year's Wine School(s)...I realize it will be different based on presenter (we are attending Andrea Robinson's this year) but I am trying to get an idea of what to expect.

Should we eat something before hand? I am thinking late breakfast will be in order!

Is the "light reception" really light or would it substitute for a meal? Only two of us are doing it so we will probably have some kind of dinner plans when we meet up with the other two of our party. (I can only imagine where they will be...La Cava I'm sure!).

After a couple of hours of trying different wines we will probably need some sustenance, but I'm not sure what to plan for. We can easily continue to graze around the world but since it's Saturday I know it will be busy. I know it's late for ressies, but we can walk over to the BW area too...(Staying at BCV).

TIA for any guidance!!

I'm going to a banquet after mine, so I booked it with the understanding that only light refreshments and canapes would be offered. I was not looking for a full meal.

ditto ... never had the ressies on line before for a print out ... don't think we'll need them this year. I do write down my confirmation number that I was given at time of booking.

We did the Exploring Burgundy Varietals last year. Our 'celebratory' reception last year consisted of cheese and crackers! I would suggest a late breakfast or an early lunch.

We did the same one as redzinner. They had 10 samples of wines waiting for us. So, make sure you eat well before your school.

They did have some slices of bread on the table.

The reception was not much at all. I don't even think I got to try anything. We were busy chatting and missed the food. I don't think there was much anyway. Hopefully for you it will have changed.

One note - I think you will love Andrea Robinson! She is a wonderful presenter and is passionate about wine. Tiny little thing. And if her husband, John, is with her you will be in for a real treat! He has such a wonderful personality and is VERY nice to look at. ;) That presentation is one that I wish we could have gone to but it's just not working with our schedule.
