**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Sounds reasonable except I'd price PFTS as including the wine view room as I bet these people get table and chairs, etc. too.

I thought about doing that, but opted instead to just add together the prices for traditional PFTS and dessert discovery since it's billed as a scaled down version of PFTS with no indication of accompanying entertainment like cirque light or a band. There's also no mention of the full bar service. It says "living room setting" so they might just be using that front section of World Showplace for seating since that's kind of loungey.

Saw this on Facebook this morning:
No Place Like Home We are so excited, we received a contract from Disney to do a cooking demo and speak about our cookbook. We will be at Epcot Food and Wine Festival on Oct.15,16,17th

Their (mother and son team) book is titled Southern Cooking with a Latin Flair!

Have any of the special events sold out yet? I think read where atleast one of the dinners had but was wondering if many others things had yet

From reports here and elsewhere, Ca. Grill signature dinner is sold out, at least one of the Morocco pairings is sold out, a couple of the Taste, Shake events are sold out. Also several PFTS evenings (Wine View Lounge only, regular admissions still available).

"Culinary Adventures in Signature Dining" at Citricos on Nov. 3 is SOLD OUT.

"Culinary Adventures in Signature Dining" at Flying Fish on Nov. 4 is SOLD OUT.

Just looked at the Grape Getaway again. The dinner at Great Movie Ride is a
Truffle dinner, maybe more along the lines of the V&A dinner. So maybe add a couple hundred to that one. We can get up to $1900 if we really try!

I'll spend my $1900 elsewhere. You'd have to pay me to attend a Pam Smith cooking demo. I don't do the Authors thing because I can get the books much cheaper anywhere but Disney. Honestly only about half the special events they listed would even appeal to me. Last night I went to the website as if you were registering for the Escape & the Cooking School bit was listed as being a Demo by many chefs rather than an actual hands on thing.

There are still openings for Victoria & Albert's signature dinner ... I do believe Disney found the $$$$ limit people are willing to hand over in 'blind' faith.

Yet another newbie question for our FW vet:worship:

DH and I will attend the Food and Wine Pairing at Tutto and we also have a 7:15 dinner reservation at Bistro de Paris that evening. I am wondering if I should move our Bistro dinner to another evening or even later that evening.

In the past, has the Food and Wine Pairing served as a late lunch/early dinner for those who have attended?

Many thanks for all the info!

(Sorry if this has been answered, but I'm catching up on posts when I'm supposed to be working :rolleyes1)

We did the Tutto F&W pairing last year (It was phenomenal!!) and we were STUFFED. There was no way we would have been able to eat a meal anytime later that day. We had some snacks towards the end of the night, but we really rolled out of there.

We are doing a Wine School this year, which is at the same time as the Tutto Pairing, or else we'd for sure be going this year! Have fun!!

I know someone who called and asked if there was any idea as to a menu or theme, because of dietary preferences. The V&A line could give no info as to the menu, probably because they didn't know it. $450 is indeed a little much to pay to find out you won't eat what's on the menu.

$200 more for a truffle dinner in the Great Movie Ride? That'd have to be loads of shrooms. I've been to regular signature dinners that cost less than $200 at which truffles were served (not in every dish though - but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want them in EVERY dish)

I don't think they can plan an actual hands-on cooking school for 100 guests. They have a cooking school at Napa Rose for the Disneyland festival, costs around $400 but the capacity is much smaller.

I am pretty much a lurker on this thread, but want to thank everyone for the excellent information. We are staying AKV Club level the first week of Oct. and they were able to book the 3D Dessert Party for Oct. 8th. I got my confirmation back at 6:32 AM yesterday!:worship: I was going to try to do it myself, but I leave for work at 7 AM and was worried if I waited until later I wouldn't get what I wanted...or would be on the phone forever. Although I don't imagine this will sell out as quickly if they really have 500 spots for each party. We are not wine drinkers, so we don't usually do the dinners, but I wanted to try the dessert party . So I think dinner will be at the different food booths with dessert at the party. I believe this is the first one of the parties, so I will try to remember to report back for others going later in the month. Return the favor so to speak. Still looking for tips and tricks on how to do this right. This is only our second F&W, last year I wasn't feeling well so we didn't do much more than try a few of the booths. I didn't even make it to the "headquarters" building.

I have to agree. We had thought about attending and determined that almost $1000 was just a little too much to spend with no details.

I also had to laugh, I still haven't received any info from TiW, but Celebrations Magazine, of which I subscribe too, was nice enough to send me a Festival Guide. Of which I received - yesterday. A little late but it's the thought that counts.

Thanks for the reply Lisa:thumbsup2

I am going to cancel our Bistro ressie and move it to another evening ... or maybe save it for our next visit!

Guess I have blind faith in Chef Scott, Chef Aimee, Chef Tom, Israel, Chris & everyone at V&A. I'm looking forward to a wonderful evening! :cloud9: I'm also looking forward to the wines John Blazon will be bringing and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. Haven't been yet. :goodvibes

Cheers!

Het Michelle - did you see that Disney is now offering a Food and Wine Passport that you can have stamped at all the food booths. Does this remind you of something????:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

No doubt in my mind you will enjoy it all Michelle! Have a wonderful evening ... and of course we will want to hear about all the deliciousness! Cheers!

This is the first time though that V&A didn't sell out on opening morning, which might be good for the guests and staff. We were packed in all the little nooks last year!

I just regret not dining with you this year! :sad1: I missed last year's dinner by less than a week!

We decided not to do V&A, so all who attend are safe this year from my DH fainting again:eek::eek:

Poor John, his episode did add to the memorable evening ... at least for the rest of us!

I had dinner at Citrico's Chef's Domain a few days after last year's signature dinner, and when Israel stopped in to say hello, he told me what had happened & was obviously upset about it. He was very concerned about John. Did you guys ever get to re-do your dinner there?

Anybody have this happen-yesterday morning I booked the Mexico Tequila Tasting and the Taste, Shake and Indulge like the French events for the 29th and 30th of October, respectfully. Gave my debt info and the money was taken out of my checking account right away. This morning I checked my back account out of habit and one of the charges was missing. I went to the Disney website and checked my reservations and the tequila tasting is there but the TS&I was not. I wrote down the reservation #s so I entered it and nothing came up. I called Disney, gave them the # and my name and the man said it was there and everything was fine. He said the reason I could not look it up online was because there was no phone number attached to it. (kicking myself now for not having him attach my #, but I can call back.) So anyone have any ideas as to why that could happen?

Sorry this is so long. :goodvibes
