**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

OK, this is just getting annoying. And I'm getting impatient. Sigh. I'm dying to see those International Marketplace menus.

I really agree, this is all just getting to be a total PITA & pretty much getting tired of it all!

No, apparently whoever typed out the slide for the preview event (which you can find on the Disney Food Blog) just mixed up the numbers. They'll be releasing everything "officially" on July 21.
 I am getting more and more impatient.

We've only done F&W twice but I think I remember reading about events not being announced until August in years before that with only a couple days between the announcement and the date you could book events. True? If so, then I guess Disney isn't that far off yet based on their previous track record.

I'd have liked to have known about the TIW special Grape thingie long before now, too. We are going to be there Oct 21-26 and can't really change our dates now but I may have considered the special program and booked our dates accordingly if we had any idea it existed! Of course, we still really don't know much about it so I may not have booked it anyway. But it would be nice to at least have the information farther in advance so that we could make a choice before travel arrangements are booked.

A couple years ago nothing got released until 4 days before the calling date if I recall correctly.

Up until 2008, Disney used to release the information with 2 to 3 weeks to prepare for "booking morning". 2008 was the year they really put us in a frenzy, releasing the event info within several days of the booking date.

Last year, they seemed to get back on track - giving us several weeks to prepare. :goodvibes

Unfortunately, I think 2008 is still too fresh in our minds, which is why many of us are getting frustrated. It's that "oh, no! not again!" feeling!!! :headache:

Hi All F&W Disneygoers

This is my first time going for the F&W festival and I am a planner and becoming very worried about having to make a lot of decisions in a short amount of time. I am going Oct 9-13th and have already made ADR's elsewhere just in case I royally mess up this planning:rolleyes: Please Disney get that website running soon:bored:

Is the wine school something that has been offered in the past? If so any comments on it. We've done a number of classes at our local wine store and really enjoy them. It says this is held 1-3 with a light reception 3-4. We're also interested in PFTS. Since both are on Saturday and we will only be there one Saturday, if we do both it would need to be the same day. Would this be too much for one day? Appreciate any comments.

I did the wine schools a few years ago when they were 6 hours. They were VERY educational - way more depth than you usally get. (Lurkyloo was there, too). For those, I would not have recommended adding PFTS later. Hopefully someone has been to the abbreviated version of the school and can better advise you.

Yes...2008 was a few days before and imo it was disasterous. I mean really though this is just a complete disregard for the customer. It is not fair for us to have the information only a few days in advance. What if people a creating their trips around this? Honestly from a customer service stanpoint it is just rude. I hope they get their act together. I can understand only a few weeks...heck one or two in advance would be nice but 4 or 5 business days???

The longer we wait, the more things we drop from the to-do list. Not that they're really losing money from us as we'll still be noshing at CG, etc, instead.
It's pretty crumby to tell people at the July 8th dinner a solid date then go beyond it.
Over promising and under delivering bugs me, especially when it comes from a customer service demi-God like Disney

I agree entirely. Disney can charge premium prices because of their reputation for great customer service... but when things like this happen, that reputation begins to slip. I cross-referenced the events we want to attend against the schedule that was handed out at the TiW preview and the only changes were prices (they went up, surprise, surprise :rolleyes1). We wanted to do the Grape Getaway, but we need more notice to arrange the time off for hubby's work... so I think that will end up a no-go since it doesn't exactly coincide with our existing travel dates. Unfortunate. The thing that frustrates me the most is that I was given a live web date of July 12 by someone who definitely knew the schedule, and that same date was announced at the TiW event... yet still no live site. WHAT is going wrong with the F&W management... and will this mismanagement continue into the festival? At these prices, I am counting on a well-managed festival. I know firsthand from the DISASTER at Jiko last year what can happen when events are mismanaged.

Exactly. It's certainly doesn't fill me with confidence.

Yes, frustrating. They laid off the lady that had been in charge of a lot of F&W for 13+ years not too long ago (during that large round of layoffs last year) so maybe it is affecting them. :confused3

I booked an ADR for California Grill and we will do that instead of the Signature Dinner and get some nice drinks/wine on our own. Much cheaper. We will use what I save for the Disney Dream in 2011;) I am also debating the Tokyo Dining Pairing since those used to be $35pp. Will it really be worth nearly twice as much? Think I will stick to PFTS and the Taste, Shake, Indulge.

I do not like the large scale design. I'll wait to see what the polo shirts look like as I'm needing some more for work anyway.

I have to say ewww to those. It took me a minute to realize the guy on the upper right is drinking wine and not holding up his hand as if to politely cover a belch - hahaha!

OMG, you're right! I think he is 'sniffing' the wine. I thought it was his mouth!

See this is what happens when they don't give us the information we want ... we get critical, very, very critical! :rotfl2::rotfl::rolleyes1

4orm, I like your Little Prince avatar!
