**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

LDF, the wine seminar and culinary demonstration tickets go on sale August 26. All other special event ticket items are on sale on July 20th.
Right... but I thought she was talking about getting PFTS tickets...? I didn't want her to miss that opportunity.

Interesting - it appears that all events inside Epcot this year require Epcot admission, even the wine schools and the Wonders dinner.

Thanks to everyone for posting the links to the few updates we have to look at.

Also, I think I am in the minority, but I like the Festival artwork. I liked it last year too. So, I guess there will be more for me to buy, since I won't be booking many special events at the Festival! ;)

Interesting to see the more obscure german brews they are now showing in the Brewers Collection...still doesn't compensate for the trio of duds at the new Belgium booth.
And Sam Adams 15th anniversary - Coastal Wheat Light...a light beer??? That's a must skip.

HI Tom...I just had a Radeberger in Germany, what a coincidence that they will have it at the festival.

Light beer, what's the deal...maybe it's that pesky Disney health thing.

Anyone else notice that the Taste, Shake, Indulge event is missing? :confused3

I did not! TiW members should be getting a write up of the special events in the mail soon. Hopefully it will be in there. I'm going to assume that the organizers will correct that mistake on the web site ... soon. If not ... I'm still going to book it! That will confuse the heck out of the poor reservation agents!

LOL, hubby and I were just saying the same thing. I said the new begium booth and none of the fabulous beers to go with it, ugh.

No Lambic in Belgium? I think that omission may violate some obscure European treaty. :rotfl2:

The artwork is horrifying. I thought it couldn't get worse than last year. I was wrong. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Actually, Nora Carey ran the Festival for five years 2004-2008. I don't know who ran the Festivals before that, although we've been attending since 1998. Mary Ann Hunnel started running the Festival beginning with the 2009 Festival.

Nora was laid off in the big round of layoffs in March 2009, as was John Blazon, who ran wine and beverages for Disney and was the key wine expert for Festivals prior to 2009. He was responsible for the Vertical Tastings, which were superb. Dh and I miss them.

According to Linked In, Nora is now Executive Director of the Bocuse d'Or USA Foundation. John Blazon is now Vice President at Spire Collection, the top tier wines in the Kendall-Jackson group of wine companies.

And if you missed my earlier post, John Blazon will be the special guest at the V&A Signature dinner, bringing some of those lovely Spire wines. I've never actually had a wine that was 99 points before!

ANyone who has been to Bavaria will tell you that Altenmunster is not obscure...that is a phenomenal bier that is never found in the States. I am VERY surprised they were able to bring it in for this event.

As to the Belgium biers...I would LOVE if they could get the best trappist biers in for the event (read not Westmalle and Rochefort) but the monks will never allow it. I would love to have had Chimay, Nogne, or St Bernardus...heck even Lindemuns would have been great.

Or if you just want to see what everything is about, check out a seminar or two. If it's a wine seminar, let your kids go ride Test Track. But if it's culinary, you can just steal their wine ;)

Oops...nope! They card everyone at the culinary events that could be underage and then they just don't serve them anything but the sample of food...and mom and dad don't get the kid's wine either.
