**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

I don't get the site: it says the Grand Marnier thing is selected Saturdays, but the last date given, October 25, is a Monday.

Now if it were October 23, which is a Saturday, I'm thinking about adding that weekend, so I could sign up for it. I could go October 9 but then it would be between that and the South Africa wine school. hm, what to do...

That's a toughy! You really need to ask yourself which one do you want to do the most, then go from there. I think they are about the same for capacity with the FRL allowing 75 guests and the WS having room for 60.

Thanks for the info - I wasn't sure on capacity numbers. I think we want the Wine School a little more, so I'll probably go for that one first. Can't wait!

Is there a listing of events to be booked? We are going twice during food and wine.

An official list is scheduled to be released by Disney on July 12.

On the first post you can find links to the "management" site that has most of the events for 2010 listed although this is not the official public release.

Knowing how many events you have booked in the past, you know how to book these. PFts, last, lol, CA Grill frist, and the pairing and taste second/third, doesn't really matter. You definately aren't a first timer.

UOTE=PatriciaH;37278366]I am thinking we will try for:

PFTS on 10/16
Tokyo Dining F&W Pairing on 10/18
California Grill Signature Dinner on 10/21 (maybe)
Taste, Shake on 10/23

Wondering if Taste/Shake or Cali Grill will go first. Hmm... Trying to plan my call. :rotfl:[/QUOTE]

The second floor is very cool!

'They' escort you by elevator. There must be a stairwell (in case of fire) but we haven't used it. If you ever have the chance to attend an event under the Circus Tent ... do it!

I'm kind of disappointed, I was hoping for some of the more popular Food Network Stars. I was really hoping that there would be an appearance with Guy Fiera like at Disneyland!

Star quality extremely disappointing...Time to save the money for new york, sobe or aspen. Disney needs to start bringing the a game before they get our money

We noticed that odd date too and are hoping it's a typo, although Disney always prefaces dates with 'Select' and ends with 'Subject to Change.'

lol, the subject to change will be really funny this year, and nothing is exceptional, it can only go from bad to worse

Robert usually shows up, they may not have his participation dates firmed up yet.

LOL, if Robert is showing up his dates are confirmed. He called me at home one year to tell me his dates when disney was being stupid as usual not releasing anything, so I knew what to book..lol

disney really needs to wise up and stop playing games...the popular chefs, if appearing have is listed on there websites long before disney has it listed for food and wine, just like the ports for dcl have it visits listed long belore dcl lists them, lol.. disney thinks their guests are stupid..lol. wake up disney.

Hey y'all -

I have a question about the Celebrating Family & Friends in the Kitchen events. How much chef interaction is there? My husband loves Cat Cora and we're having difficulty deciding if we should do her signature dinner, her Celebrating Family & Friends in the Kitchen thing, or both.

Any thoughts or input??

Thanks!!

We'd LOVE to go to the Aspen Food & Wine Festival, only about a 4.5 hour drive from here! Unfortunately, a little rich for my blood tho! I want to say tickets were around $1300 a piece this year. :scared1:

My DD27 wanted to do the Family & Friends last year, so we did it. DH, DD and myself were all very disappointed in it. Cat was there with her mom and we were bored with the whole thing and very unimpressed with the food and wine. I cannot recommend it from last year.

We did do the PFTS, with the wine Vu room. Cat was one of the chefs and we enjoyed this much more in terms of meeting her. She even introduced us to her family and we had much more interaction with this.

This isn't really an event that showcases Food Network stars. Each year, there may be one or two, but that's it. Sorry you're disappointed, but that's about how it is. As someone else mentioned, there's the Food Network Festival in NYC. It's much shorter, but is during the same time of year.

Well, we did a Friends and Family, but it wasn't with Cat Cora. It was with Alan Wong, his wife, and friend Art Smith. One of our favorite events of all time. The food was amazing and plenty of it. The three on stage had a lot of fun together. With signature dinners, I feel like you don't get to see the chefs as much. I mean, they're back there cooking, come out and introduce the courses...that's about it. With the Friends and Family event, they're on stage presenting the whole time.

Though the best option, of course, is to do both :cool1:

:rotfl: Oh please! I'm not that disappointed, I just said "kind of". Nothing will keep me from Food & Wine....I'll just choose not to participate in a $400 meal that can turn out like previous poster's Jiko experience. I think the only thing we'll do this year is the Sweet Sundays that Gale Gand is doing....wanted to do Sweet Sundays last year, but was behind the curve ball and called too late. :headache:

Wow! We loved Cat Cora and her Mom at the F&F event. The food was very good as well. Guess we all have different tastes.
