**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Anyone wanna place bets on whether they'll have a Party for the Senses on the first Saturday of the Festival? (Oct 2)

That'd be our day to do it, but they're having the special marathon event...

I 'bet' they still have the PftS on Oct 2.

1) The Party for the Senses info doesn't say anything about 'select' Saturday evenings

2) The Finish Line party is from 10:30- 3:00 am and PftS finishes at 9ish.
I thought the Finish Line Party was actually the food booths around World Showcase but that might be my screwy brain.

caveat of course is that Disney always can change the schedule!

at the food booths as we were able to do in the past? We are coming for the first weekend and want to save our snacks for the festival if we'll be able to use them there.

thanks!

I don't think anything official has confirmed that yet, but I believe that you will be able to use snack credits as inthe past.

I have tickets for the Finish Line Party and it will be in Epcot World Showcase at the kiosks from 10:00-3:00. I am fairly certain we won't even be allowed in until after Epcot is cleared out and I would think it wouldn't interfere with PFTS at all!

Oh that's interesting... now they say the party is on Thursday AND Friday, but there's only one date that falls on a Thursday (and it's not during our trip). The rest seem to be Fridays.

True. Not Friday oct 22 for some reason.

What events are ones you can't cancel? Just the signature dinners or the others like dessert and party for the senses?

Thx!

From what Disney published last year, every event you pay for in advance cannot be canceled, including the culinary and wine demos at the Festival Center.

I will say this about the demos last year - the CMs were really good about letting people switch from one time to another, if space was available, for certain deminars.

We had a reservation for one demo on a Friday and then decided to see if we could attend the same one a day earlier - because space was still available they switched it in the computer for us and everyone was happy.

But, like many things at Disney ... I think it depends on who you speak with and when. I'm sure there would have been some CMs who wouldn't have done that for us.

And as Lori said ... with the special events ... anything that you pre-pay for ... there is no refund on a cancelation. We know that from experience because my hubby was sick during our trip a few years back and we had to cancel a F&W pairing and they wouldn't refund the cost. I suspected as much but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Yeah us too, DH was actually willing to put extra money out for this just so he'd have a good spot for watching Illuminations ( he was assuming he'd have a seat idk). But we will be at Epcot on the 7th :headache::guilty:

very dissappointed. I wonder if the Wishes dessert thing in MK is still going on..... hhhmmm will have to check on that. Dh hates watching the parades bc of a bad back = no desire for standing or curb sitting.

Just a word of warning: I haven't been but what I've heard/read about the Wishes Dessert thing in MK is you will need to stand out on the patio to see the fireworks; very unlikely your table (which is assigned to you) will offer a good view. Its going on now through Aug 14th but has been extended several times before so could still be in the fall too.

It does depend on the CM you talk with. We preregistered (and paid) for several seminars last year. When we arrived at the festival center to pick up tickets, we realized that due to a cancelation, the schedule had changed and we now had tickets for the same seminar two days in a row:confused3.

Now, I understand things happen, and I understand that the fine print when I registered said the seminars were subject to change. I had no problem with not getting the seminar host I had paid for. The host canceled, what could I do? But when I politely explained the situation to the CM and asked that we be moved to a different seminar with availability (didn’t care which one, just didn’t want to sit through the same one twice) he simply told me “sorry, cancelations and changes are not permitted:headache:.” After a little back and forth I asked for his manager, she said she understood, apologized for the last minute schedule change, and said we could move to any seminar with seats available … which we happily did:banana:.

At the end of the day the problem was solved and we REALLY enjoyed the seminar we had changed to (so much so that the wine is now a staple in our wine fridge) … but it really does depend on who you talk to.

We are returning for a whirlwind weekend (Oct. 8 through 10) just for the Food and Wine Festival! It has been at least 5 years since our first (and only) Food and Wine experience.

Thanks for this thread! The info is wonderful:wizard:

So I went to the Official page, and still getting the Pardon our Dust page. It also says they will be up by the end of June. Isn't this the end of June?

Yes, I am antsy. We want to do a Signature dinner this year, and I want to see what's available when we are there!

I am right there with you on wanting to know what will be going on while we are there.

It says there is a dessert thing for Nov 5. But I can't locate a place to get tickets? Does anyone know?

It's similar to making ADRs. Except you call 407-WDW-FEST on July 20, the date that was just announced as the date they start taking reservations for events.

They said they'd update the site at the end of May...the updated it! Just to say "We'll be up and running by the end of June." :rotfl: Not quite the same.

In other words, I'm right there with you, just don't hold your breath!

We have done the Wishes Dessert Party at the MK and we could see the fireworks from our seat. There are some seats that are better than others, but my DH said it is the only way he would ever go into the MK for an evening ever again.

That being said, and to keep this on the subject of the F&W Festival ( ;) ) I would think the VIP area for the IllumiNations Dessert Party would be in the same spot that it is for Party for the Senses participants. For those of you who have actually taken advantage of that "perk" could you explain to us all where you are taken for that viewing?
