**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

I agree with the prioritizing requests etc. My problem is I just can't get thru even in the first 2-3 hours!!!! I really don't see how some can and others can't. Last year I got thru 1 1/2 hrs later (8:30AM) I tried booking a dinner(tried 3 different ones), a luncheon(2), and sweet Sundays (2) and couldn't get any of them. Finally took PFTS for the umteenth time. Loved it but the other stuff was exasperating to say the least.

Are you calling 407-WDW-FEST? It's the same dining line, but maybe that will help.

It is a big chunk of change, but we'll be doing the Wine View with PFTS.This is the only F&W ticketed event we do since we're only there for a long weekend. We had a great time last year :)

We had a great time at PFTS last year, too, with the Wine View. I'm struggling with the idea of paying probably $500 for the two of us to do it again this year. That's 3 dinners at Jiko! We'll see. If it ends up being our only ticketed event, I may still do it..

Yup clng that # on both phones

Another thought - is there any way to bypass all the press 1 for this and 2 for that types of stuff and go straight to the ressie line?

We have pretty much decided to do the Party for the Senses on 10/23. We will likely only be in Epcot for one day during our short visit, are we crazy to think about eating food around the world at the various kiosks prior to attending the party in the evening (we don’t want to explode before the party)?? We would hate to miss out though on sampling the delights available around the World Showcase. Also, do the kiosks open at 11am?

Let's say they try to open by 11 am. They should all be open by 11:30. If there are two of you I suggest you split the 'delight' you buy at a kiosk. That way you get to sample more and not explode. You definitely can sample and attend the Party for the Senses if you stop early enough. Everyone is different of course but if you stop by 3ish with the noshing around the World you should be able to enjoy the PftS.
I think you've made a good choice to go to the Party for the Senses for your first F&WF.

People gave you the right answer on this, but I wanted to add my own warning to carry a bit of cash around anyway. Why? Sometimes the connections to the card reader terminals act wonky, and the kiosk will only accept cash when it happens. This doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's good to have cash as backup.

I agree. We always have a little bit of cash, just in case the system is down.

I couldn't do it and have room for all the food I want to try at PFTS. Maybe if you sample very few items early on like others suggested, and splitting the samples. I get very full at PFTS even though I try to pace myself. It's so difficult!

I may rely on you two vets to help me prioritize, if that's OK with y'all. I'm not really sure which events sell out quickly.:goodvibes

Prioritize by what you want to attend the most and go from there.

Kathy, I was going to comment, but I see I didn't have to. ;) I like this advice. Prioritize by the most appealing, and leave PFTS until the end if you're booking it.

I've learned to eat very lightly before PFTS-usually just fruit or salad for lunch. My DH went to his first PFTS last Oct.,and he is a big eater, but he was glad he just ate a light lunch that day!
This Oct. will be my 5th F&W Festival trip, and every year I tweak my itinerary a little based on experience and things I've learned on the F&W threads here. One of the biggest mistakes I made the first trip was not giving myself enough time to enjoy the food kiosks. This year I've added a day,and it probably still won't be enough time:rolleyes1

Kat, what Lori & Cheryl said is spot on ... I didn't explain myself very well.

What I was trying to get at is this: if you want a F&W pairing or a Tequila tasting, for example, seating is very limited based on the venus so knowing that before you call should help you prioritize how to book.

Some signature dinners are easier to get than others, again because of seating. Todd English used all of Bluezoo last fall so almost anyone who wanted to book it, could. Flying Fish on the the other hand sold out in less than an hour because seating was limited to about 40 people (Disney ain't closing one of their cash cows down for even one night).

Things like PFTS or that dessert party have hundreds of available spaces, so unless you want the wine view room for PFTS there is no reason to call right away to book that type of event, in my opinion.

I hope this helps a little - I wasn't trying to muck things up for you.

Thanks for the suggestions!

So let me get this straight, they took out all the interesting food and left the junk I can find an hour from my house? Maybe I should just find something more interesting to do in Port Canaveral.

Can you cash it out or use it on the cruise line?

Can someone help me better understand the workings of this small debit/gift card I have read about to dine at the various kiosks? Sounds like a great alternative to carrying cash or a credit card with me.

Can it be purchased/loaded before arriving at Disney World or at least before getting into Epcot?

Is there a fee for the card or wrist strap?

Can it be loaded at any food kiosk with a credit or debit card to apply money from, or does it have to be cash?

Can it be used as places other than the food kiosks?

Any other good info/tips for the card?

Damn ... I wish we could get that kind of variety in Stinktown!

It's weird Louisville is far from being the most metropolitan city, and it will never be the first city anyone thinks of when thinking about big named cities... but per capita we have the most interesting, amazing restaurants of any city I have lived in including Dallas, Austin and Phoenix.

Damn ... I wish we could get that kind of variety in Stinktown!
