**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Went to PFTS last night with the Wine View Lounge. Good as always, the gift bags were there as we left the WVL. The cheese table wasn't as robust as it was last year, but still had some very high end cheeses (in the WVL, not the Kerrygold cheese table).

So what is included in the gift bag? Does everyone get one or just those in the WVL?

Well I dunno what they get in WVL, but the rest of us got a bag with a Cirque du Soleil flyer and a red clown nose in it—and that's it! They also give you an etched F&W wineglass, so if you put that in the bag, you have three whole things! :rotfl:

1) in past yrs the booths have stayed open which makes it nice if ur not staying at WDW u can still stay in the park and have something to do.
2) at the WVL last yr we also got the glasses but got a sample pack of about
10 Twining Teas and a jar of Wild Hibiscus Flowers in syrup which are really neat when u put them in champagne they open up-and u can eat them also.

Once upon a time they stayed open but for the past 2 years and this year they are not open during EMH ...

I guess it is hard to control the crowds now that wristbands are no longer required for EMH. How would you tell a resort guest? It is a shame - a few years ago we had such a relaxing time strolling around at night with little crowds sampleing everything - espcially the wines. EPCOT is so pretty at night.

We were in the WVR on Sat. The bag contained tea, chocolate truffles, a small box of baked goods, Werthers candy, an autographed pix of Taylor Hicks...I think that was everything. The glasses had the WVR logo on them. Also attended the 3D party and LOVED the MM 3D glasses. Had a great ime at both.:goodvibes

We're back from our whirlwind visit to the Food and Wine Festival. Sorry to say I didn't take any pictures ... too busy eating and drinking:lmao:

Here is the menu from Saturday, October 9, 2010 Food and Wine Pairing at Tutto Italia:

Antipasto Misto
Chef's Selection of Appetizers and Specialties
Wine Paired, Vernaccia Di San Gimignano

Gnocchi
Potato Dumplings, Pomodoro Sauce, Basil, Parmesan
Wine Paired, Bonizio Sangiovese, Cecchi

Involtini Di Pollo
Rolled Chicken, Spinach, Prosciutto Di Parma, Fontina Cheese
Wine Paired, Chianti Classico, Cecchi

Torta Di Ricotta
Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake, Marinated Strawberries
Wine Paired, Rosa Regale, Vigne Regali

Dark Chocolate discs were offered at the last minute at the request of a guest to pair with the chocolate.

This was a fantastic event! DJ's DH and I really enjoyed it.

Neither of us were impressed with the 3D Dessert Experience. It was unbelievably crowded and disorganized. As a matter of fact we left at 8 p.m. and didn't even go to the special fireworks viewing area. I was expecting something a little more intimate ... not hordes of people ... live and learn.

Hope this info is helpful:wizard:

I agree, hordes of people doesn't sound to great. Paid for it already so we'll show up but possibly leave early too. :sad1:

I agree it wasn't what we expected. We had a good time because we were with friends. I think I expected more of a selection. We already decided we would skip this the next time. Maybe you need to be into desserts more than we are, but I think smaller portions of a larger selection would be better.

The lines were so long for drinks and desserts. Maybe my expectations were a little too high.

Others we talked to at the Food and Wine Lunch in Italy thought the same as we did ... while others have posted that it was positive experience:confused3 Will be interested in your take.

I enjoyed my experience at the 3D Dessert Party - I was expecting it to be like a PftS but with desserts only & got just that. There were multiple lines for the same items on both sides of the room so there was never too much of an issue for lines with me. With the amount of alcohol available - it was easily worth $45 to me.

It reminds me of the way PFTS used to be before it was PFTS it used to be at Odyssey and they packed you in like cattle. Disney will get it right at some point if it continues, but I find with these things it sometimes takes afew yrs.

I wonder if Thursdays are less crowded than Fridays? I'm attending on a Thursday.

We arrived in EPCOT last Thursday around 4 p.m at the International Gateway. We started in France and were able to taste what we wanted at every booth, except Morocco since DJ's DH didn't like anything on that menu, all the way to Brazil by IllumiNations. We were amazed how much we were able to accomplish.

Friends of ours who live in Melbourne met us Friday morning at 11 a.m. in Ireland. We were able to work our way clockwise to France in time for us to go to the 3D Dessert Event at 6:45 p.m.

Lines were longer on Friday than Thursday but no where near what they were on Saturday:faint: We didn't do one booth on Saturday! Thank goodness we had scheduled the Food and Wine Pairing in Italy!

I agree with Dis Yoda. I thought it was worth the price and enjoyed everything I tried. I thought there was a good variety, and my DH even said that one human couldn't possibly try everything. I didn't find it disorganized at all. The only line that was a bit long was champagne/ice wine, and even that didn't take too long. The only improvement I would like to see is that some of the alcohol stations wouldn't serve you more than one drink. So if my DH wanted to go to a dessert station and get desserts for both of us and I wanted to wait in line for liquor and get drinks for both of us, I couldn't. But the champagne/ice wine servers were allowing two drinks per person.

Having never been to a PftS I didn't know what to expect.

Color me a newbie who won't be doing the 3D Dessert Party.

Thank goodness Disney offers events for everyone.:goodvibes

has anyone had the perogies?? We had them two years ago and they were GREAT...then we had them last year and what a dissapointment!! Was curious about them this year since we are going down in 4 days :-)

They seemed the same as last year to me.
