I went to that. It was a good deal for $45. Lots of good desserts available like Flambed Bourbon Doughnuts w/ Ice Cream, Truffles, Cobblers, chocolate Torte, Mini Desserts, Fruit, Cordials galore.

However there were a lot of people there with children in strollers. It seemed out of place to me :confused3 with there being a decent amount of alcohol available.

Thanks. Odd about the number of kids. The Wishes Desert Party in MK seems to be a better fit for kids. A lot less expensive also.

I thought kids under 18 weren't allowed at a lot of the F&W events like that? Frankly, it's one of the things I love about the F&W festival. Nothing against kids, I am just an adult who also enjoys Disney and like some adult type activities available, too!

I can second that, my DH and I enjoy some adult only activities too. it is a great place for everyone but sometimes I like just having adults around.

They are allowed but a discount isn't provided for them. I can understand teenagers and such going to an event like that as you could have easily gotten your $45 worth in just desserts & teenagers being exposed to adults drinking isn't a big deal. Its the very young children I didn't understand. I saw one poor lady with her 4 children not looking like she was having a very fun time at the event.

Two desserts weren't fed to the minors from what I saw due to their being alcohol in them.

There are no age restrictions at food & wine special events with the exception of the beverage seminars (you must be 21 or over to attend those). However, I think one must pay full price for children, and they obviously cannot consume alcoholic beverages. Most events are adult-oriented and are not suitable for children (teens who are interested in the culinary arts may find many of the events interesting though). I think at least some of those who signed up for the dessert event are expecting something like the Wishes Dessert Party, or even the private dessert parties held at the World Showcase, which are in fact very different events.

Uncooked desserts containing alcohol also can't be served to persons under 21.

At the festival in Disneyland, under California law only persons age 21 and over may attend any event that serves alcohol, but Florida law isn't the same. That is why in Florida kids may attend the events but will not be served alcohol (and there wil be no corresponding reduction in price).

I was there last night. Had a great time. Was well worth it. Many desserts and drinks.

Would you skip dinner to save room? We have ADRs at Via Napoli at 2:00. May stop by a kiosk or two later in the evening, but want to save room to enjoy the desserts.

I would keep your ADR. My husband and I had Via Napoli before the event - well he mostly had the pizza - I had an appetizer (I had a french regional lunch from 12 to 2:45) and he was happy to have something savory in his stomach before all those sweets.

Anyone go to the French Regional Lunch yet? If so, how was it?

I went to it & enjoyed what I could from it. My phone kept going off with work stuff which had to keep being dealt with which took away from my experience.

Anyone have a picture of the bags? I'm curious and addicted to bags (can never have enough), and if I like it, I'll see if they're still there when I'm there...

Thanks!

:goodvibes

Sorry about the work interruptions.....I certainly can relate!!

How large were the food portions? Just wondering about redoing my evening ADR.

Where did you have to go initially? I made a reservation, but I don't have any directions on where to go. I assume the Festival center for a wrist band?? Can you tell us how it worked? Thanks!

It is a very full meal w/ 5 courses. Depending on the time of your evening ADR you could always eat something light at that evening ADR.

For the events in the World Showplace (Party of the Senses & 3D Dessert Party - they have people across the way from the doors checking people in.

I went through all the pages since the festivals opening, has anyone attended the tequila tasting?

I would say you might have the right idea. I ate a few items at the booths about 11:00-11:30 that morning and then had half a sandwich from Earl's at about 3pm before attending the party. I enjoyed having things although by about an hour into the party I was ready for the fruit dessert rather than the sweet desserts.

We ended up having to change our plans and are now coming to the F&W festival on Monday instead of Saturday. I had assumed Saturday would be crowded, but now wondering what you all think Monday will be like? It's Columbus Day, but not sure that would make a difference since most families with kids wouldn't come to just enjoy the F&W?

Thanks!

I saw one answered ur question and I have been there on the holiday and it's busy and so r the weekends. This is r 14 Food and Wine we always go on a Wed. U will have a gd time no matter what:)

I wish this was true, but at the wine deminars, children are allowed to come in but they are sat at a table placed to one side and given crayons and paper to color with.
At the only one we've attended so far, there were 5 little ones ( 2 different families) there. I felt very sorry for them.
