**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

I'm pretty skeptical on the special F&W events as being "worth it". Of course we all have our different scales on which we measure worth.

I often find myself saying "for that price I could eat at Vicky & Al's", which then leads to the conclusion that since I don't often eat at V&A's, why would I spend that much money on an event.

...just my perspective.

That's true. Last year, I booked V&A as a substitute for F&W events. I used to book a lot more of them in prior years. I'm hoping there will be a lot more to choose from this year, being a 15th anniversary year.

I've eaten at V&A often enough that the menu is repeating itself so I will be foregoing it for the signature dinners where at least I won't know what's on the menu.

I agree. V&A has become pretty predictable lately, with only a few seasonal changes. My new plan this year is have the Todd English bluezoo™ chefs tasting menu and/or the chef's counter at Flying Fish to try if I can't find (or heaven forbid get shut out of) festival signature dinners I want to try.

I'm going to hold off on booking ADRs until after the July 20th booking frenzy.

Thanks, I loved your reviews! Detailed, helpful, and also a lot of fun. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I hope my reviews gave you a better understanding of wine pairing events. You can see that even a celebrity chef can really muck up a meal. I didn't get drunk at the Flying Fish meal, even though we were served a lot of champagne.

Looks like it is for Marathoners (included in price of registration and spectators at an additional cost. Annual Passes are not valid.)
Luck Cast Memebers that get to sling food and serve wine until 3 am!

We'll be at WDW from Oct. 2-9 & it will be our first F&W Festival. I'm super excited! I doubt if we'll attend any of the pricier events, but I'm really looking forward to the food booths and maybe seeing a few of the demos/seminars. We've got 2 full days planned for Epcot, but I have a feeling that we'll want to spend more time there. :woohoo:

Shelli

We are planning on doing the same again this year. I am sure you are going to enjoy it and have a great time.:yay:

I think it's a great idea. Sounds like fun Elin. You'll have to let us know about your midnight dine at Epcot experience.

If I manage to stay awake! :rotfl: I am a morning person and usually wake up at 5:00 or 5:30, so staying up that late is going to be interesting for me. But, in the interest of education, I will do my best to report back.

The home page of the official food and wine site now says: “The Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival Site is getting a new look! It should be up-and-running before the end of June!”
Let’s hope this means the schedule will be out by the end of June! Fingers crossed!

It said that last month, only it said it would be up and running before the end of May. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

The first lesson of F&W planning is never believe anything Disney tells you about release dates and information. ;)

Wasn't it just an extra $75 last year?

Yes, it was... and the demos are $$$$ :scared1:

At $12 a wine demo they better be serving some top notch wines or Moet & Chandon with a Hibiscus Flower!

Wine/ Beverage Seminars – $8 & $12 per person, tax included. Theme Park admission required.
A 45-minute seminar allows you to meet the featured winery principal or beverage expert, learn a few tips, and sample the selected wines/beverages. Cheers!

Daily: 12 noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m.

I'll take the Moet without the flower for $10 please! :rotfl2:
We agree with you.. from what we had last year $12 would NOT be worth my time or money!

There is actually quite a bit of information on that site now. :yay: Unless the wineries who are doing the seminars are a whole lot better than the ones from last year, we won't be doing any of those. It will depend on who is doing a culilnary demo as to whether or not we will do any of those. Party for the Senses didn't go up in price so we might do that, but no wine room for us! Waiting to see when and how much more they add in the next day or so!

I wonder if the prices are $8.00 for Annual Pass and $12.00 for Non-Annual Pass?

What do you think?

I don't remember anyone mentioning this new food kiosk .... if it's already been posted, sorry for the repeat
