I just returned. I am a spouse of an AF Reservist and used the hotel discount (25% off Pop) and they never even asked for my ID!
I got my tickets at WDW(MK ticket window, to be exact), since there wasn't time to get from our base ITT. The cost was $147.xx with tax. I needed names and birthdates of all those for whom I was getting tickets. I was able to use more than one payment(For my first purchase I paid for 2 tickets, mine and a friend who wouldn't arrive that day, and another friend paid for her own at that time). Later that day I was able to buy a ticket for someone not there yet. Also, I was able to go back later that same day when another friend arrived (she also paid for her own). I purchased 4 tickets. One of us used only 3 days, but she can come back anytime between now and Oct 1, 2011(excluding blackout dates) and use that day. I was also told I can purchase one more before the promotion is over, and DH can still come and purchase his (we are allowed 6, but only if one ticket is for him)
I'm really thankful that WDW has offered such a great deal! We were only there for 4 days and really used those park hoppers.![]()
I have read that all the tickets had to be purchased at the same time and that they expired 14 days after first use.
This contradicts everything I have read. Now I'm more confused.

But I like yours better!
You will need to get a new ID card. And my DH had to go with me to get a new one when mine was about to expire, so I would call ahead to see what your local base says as it would not have even occurred to me that he would have to be with me since mine wasn't expired yet and we didn't get a divorce or anything that would make me not qualified to get one. Not sure what they do if the military member is overseas or dead, but I imagine there's some protocol that must be followed in every circumstance.
I also agree with the person who said you likely can't drive on base without a valid ID card, so if you went by yourself, you'd have to stop and get a "visitor pass" or something like that, but if you're going to need your DH to be present, you might as well know that in advance and then you can just have him drive on the base so you can get your new card. To buy the tickets in Orlando, you will need a valid ID card that indicates "spouse" (or "SP") in the "relationship" box.

1. There is nothing in the internal paperwork which states that all the tickets must be purchased or activated at the same time. There is no restriction as to the number of tickets at one time, other than the total for a service member normally cannot exceed six or for the spouse that it cannot exceed five. This contradicts everything I have read. Now I'm more confused.

I haven't read through the entire thread, so sorry if this has been asked and answered before. My husband and I have AP's. Wondering if he can just purchase two tickets for our son and daughter-in-law--with out buying one for himself?
We are a family of 5 (one is a baby)... so we need 4 tickets.
My question is can we try to get 8 tickets (having another active duty soldier go in and buy 2 more for us in addition to our 6) so we can have 8 days instead of 4?
My hubby can activate his 2, my 2, and one of our daughter's 2. Then the other active duty soldier can activate our other daughter's 2?
My son will be buying 4. 1 for him and 1 for his wife. He's also going to get 1 for my brother and 1 for my nephew. They don't come in until 2 days after us. What will my son need for info for their tickets and can he just give them the tickets or do they all have to go through the gate together the first time.
I think the 'activating' part is messing me up.
Yes, he can. I just did it for my two sisters.
We just bought 6 tickets from MWR on Friday but will only be using 2 for our trip this week for DSS9 and DSS6. Do we have to bring all 6 tickets and activate them at one time or can we just bring the ones we are using this trip and activate the other ones on our next trip?
I am worried about losing the ones we won't need so I hate to bring anything extra with us if I can just wait and activate them when we are going to be using them.
