I did that for our last trip but this time since I know we will be doing a package (getting the dining plan) I am going to wait until the package prices come out. That way I won't have to cancel a reservation get the deposit back and rebook.

Good luck on the waiting because I know it is hard to do. I have already contacted my TA and she knows our dates and will be ready as soon as they are released.

You will probably be booking the same day I do!!

I will join in too I am planning on the last week of august, praying for free dining, but will settle for any discount available. I really don't know if I should book room only and then upgrade to a package should a great offer come along. I am obviously new to this, and because we live so far away, it will be a once in a lifetime trip for us.

We are planning on going late July/early August of 2009. Hopefully we'll get some of our family to join us. 1 week at Disney then add on a 3 day cruise. The cruise dates and rates are out.

I'm thinking of doing Pop again if the relatives come. Otherwise, maybe I can "convince" hubby to do Beach club or AKL.

I am excited that I can finally say I am going back to wdw next year!!! I had initially planned on May 2009 as soon as school got out here in central Illinois, but I may have to push it back until late July or early August to help with the cost. We have a small trip to Chicago planned this year and dh and I would like to travel to Dallas, TX to watch a football game in Oct. or Nov. of 2008. I better start saving NOW!!! When can you start booking December 2009? In January 2008???

You can book 499 days before your departure date. So for December 2009 you can book sometime in the middle of the year, which is when all the rates and packages will be released. I think disney releases everything close to 499 days before Dec 31.
