I said I would never go during the summer or hurricane season because being from the Texas coast I definately know how those summers are, but it is cheaper than spring break, less crowded than Christmas and the only other option without taking DD out of school. I want to try either CSR or CBR. Unfortunately, that will be our only trip in 2009 so no possibility of bounceback offer. Are their usually any other offers during August...before school starts?

Last year there was free dining at the end of August, into September. The room rates were pretty affordable. 2 adults & 1 child stayed for 5 nights, 5 day park hopper tickets with free dining for $1200.
We had a blast.

We are hoping to go sometime in November or first part of December 2009. Has anyone went during this time before? How crowded is it? We went last year in July, and I will never go when it is that hot/crowded again. Even if I have to take my boys out of school for a few days.

I have been the week prior to Christmas...actually our check out date was December 23rd. The weather was PERFECT. The closer to Christmas the more crowded, but not headache crowded. I would definately do that again.

We booked room only reservations this weekend for January 2009. The room rate was incredibly inflated, but we're locked in for the week at any rate! I was told packages wouldn't be available until June, but that seems rather late.

No one really knows how people get codes. It helps to register on the disney web site and say that you want to get offers and information.
As far as AAA, the discount is usually between 10 - 20 percent, based on resort and time of year. You also can get discounts at many stores all over the country with the AAA card. And if your car ever breaks down, won't start, runs out of gas, they will help.

We are thinking about April of 2009. This will be dh's first trip EVER, dd's first trip ever (she'll be 5), and my first since highschool. So we are super excited.

Can anyone tell me though... what is April like, as a time of year, to go? What are the pros and cons? Is May better in terms of crowds?

I think easter in 2009 will be around the 12th or so. It will be very busy around then. Many schools in new england and new york have their spring breaks the 3rd week in the month. It will be very busy then as well. However, the weather is wonderful. Around 80 during the day, very little rain, low humidity. Because our kids are in school and we can only go during their breaks, it is when we go. We plan our days and have always had a great time.

We are going in May 2009. We are thinking the first or 2nd week. We will pull the kids out of school one last time for this trip. My oldest will be in 1st grade and my little on will be in pre-k. We like to go when it is less croweded. I am not woried about the heat.

It does not seem tropical but the lines are ridiculously short the last few days of January and the first few days of February. Have been there during that time and had some rain but much more fun. I can't wait for the 2009 rates!
