2009 WISH Team Marathon Weekend Meets

I will be at the Pop meet and the start and finish of the 1/2. Just wondering how long the meet at Pop is. I might not be there exactly at 4:30pm and I don't want to miss the photo. Are they also going to have a pasta dinner at the food court?

Sorry, guys. I haven't updated this thread in ages. I've been a bit overwhelmed with things going on IRL so this and shirt orders and other online activities have fallen by the wayside.

DW and I will plan to stop by the Pop meet but we have an activity that evening with our charity team (they're feeding us a pre-race pasta meal). I'll also be at pre/post marathon. We've also signed up for the Illuminations desert party that was not listed here.

So far I have 78 people on my list for nametags for the WISH Pop meet on Friday. I have ordered the nametag holders and nametag inserts. So next it is just coming up with a design. (of course using Disney lettering!!)

I'm throwing this question out to anyone staying at POP Century with a car that can help us out during marathon weekend?

I have no plans on having a car this trip. So if anyone is going grocery shopping, and either willing to take me to Crossroads Shopping center (near Downtown Disney), or willing to pick us up some items?

Marcia will be there on Wednesday afternoon, and settled in by Thursday. I'll hopefully arrive on Thursday night around 6-6:30 pm (1/8/09-flying standby).

We want to pick up a case of Gatorade, two cases of water, and some bread, bananas, chips, and cookies. That's probably all we need.

Mahalo in advance to anyone willing to help out!

P.S. I'll also post on the Disneyrunning site to see if anyone there can help out.

Let me see if I can nail that reference. Billy Beer was made by Billy Carter who was Jimmy Carter's, former President of the late 70's, brother and was considered the "Black Sheep" of the family. The beer never had that much of a following so it didn't last very long at all. Does that some it up???

As far as the Nascar replica, I guess I should tell you that I drive a Ford Fusion, the same car that Ford races on the Circuit. So with that being said, how fast do you want to get there??? (I should also tell you, to set your mind at ease, I am a volunteer cop so I will be safe.)

as for the meets-- could you add the Illuminations dessert party to the first page of this thread? My DH and I will be there (likely with our DD5 and my parents)

We are unsure about the POP meet, I may be solo as dragging DD out of the parks for a meet may not go over well with her-- we'll see.

Instead we coerced each other into going, and running JUST two of the three races available. Ok, so it's the half and the full marathons...

Ok I haven't booked my hotel room yet (trying to get through this next weekend EEC first and then hopefully I will get a bounceback offer or the AP rates will come out soon) so I am not exactly sure when we will get up to WDW but since I volunteered for the 1/2 I am assuming I have to be there at least by Friday night.

So for sure I know that I will be volunteering at the 1/2 as a course monitor in the MK area (I am so hoping that will be in the park and not outside the park)

for the Full I will at the start line - bright eyed and bushy tailed - yeah right!!

and then I definately plan on being at the Boardwalk Bakery on Monday morning - I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can get a room at the Boardwalk or even Beach Club but I don't know if finances will allow it (I really really hope so though)

That is my plans so far - things could change in the next 4 months

Where is everyone going to have dinner the Saturday night of the WDW marathon weekend?

We're planning on going over to Port Orleans Riverside for their "build a pasta bowl." Anyone care to join us, or have any other suggestions?

Count us in for the POP meet on Friday. We'll be hanging out before the start of the Half and I'll be cheering everyone for the Full from around Mile 9. We're staying at Poly that last few nights so I plan to walk over and hopefully be able to see and cheer everyone on.
