2009 VB chair swap

We'll be at Vero 7/6-7/10 with 8 people (2 rooms). If possible could we get on both lists and if someone needs the same dates we'd be willing to give one up. Thanks!! BTW - it's a GREAT idea. This is why I love the DIS.:lovestruc

Perpetualplanner, you're ok with paying the rental fee x2 ? As long as noone else comes in with your dates, I'll leave you on both lists. Of course I will be updating the final costs in a couple of weeks for approval by everyone partaking in the swap.

Perfectly fine with paying the fee x2. It saves me a HUGE headache since we're going with family who I'm already concerned about having a good time.
 
Awesome ! Glad u understand perpetualplanner. And honestly you're right. Even paying to be on two lists is a HUGE savings over what the resort charges.
Everyone keep posted because I'll be closing the swap list in the next 2-3 weeks and then working on detailed costs for everyone and we'll need to agree on an amount for the CM tip too. Shouldn't be much if we all give a few $. But I'm open to any ideas and suggestions as always :)

It's getting very near the time I will close the chair swap. Please everyone check that they are on the list. If you are on the list, and have changed your mind, PLEASE let me know right away.

I have calculated the cost of the chairs, umbrellas, etc and added total shipping :

Wear-ever backpack chair: 4 @ $29.95 each
Pinwheel beach umbrella : 2 @ $29.95 each
carry bag for umbrella : 2 @ $4.95
The SandGrabber (umbrella stake) : 2 @ $14.95

TOTAL with shipping of $54.78 = $274.28


We have a total of 30 parties sharing in the cost as of right now. That means it would be $9.15 each NOT including whatever agreed upon TIP for our VB CM's. We need to think about an appropriate tip for the CM's handling all thise. Keep in mind, they are storing and maintaining our swap lists for many months. If we all gave another $5 extra (for a total of $14.15), that would be $150 tip for the CM's for all the months they maintain and assist us with this swap. What do u all think ? If you all want to give more or less for a tip, please share with the group. I am open to ANY and ALL suggestions. Please let's all share our thoughts.

Thanks...sometime between Christmas and New Years eve I will close the swap and begin the process of collecting money and placing the order.

$5 sounds very reasonable to me. They will be dealing with this for months and we want to make sure that they're happy or at least not upset with the situation.
 
I think the $5 is a good amount. I also plan on tipping the person who delivers these to my room and picks them up. For those of you who have followed Maria's work in putting the swap together, the folks at VB were reluctant to support this due to some issues in the past. Having some extra tip money will help for those who want to do this in the future.

Ditto on the $5 tip being a good idea. Definitely want to keep the CM's happy.:) I'm sitting here watching it snow, wish I was sitting in one of the chairs watching the WAVES:yay:
