2009 Spring/Spring Advantage Official "Accepted" Thread!

Don't worry, I go to a community college also and my advisor said transferring is a breeze. I guess a few years ago someone went to Italy to do some kind of fashion internship at my school and my advisor was also hers, and she said the transition is as smooth as if you were actually there!

That's reassuring, I'm gonna talk to a counsellor this week

I was wondering - I go to community college and I didn't know if I had to talk to someone about doing this program. I was just figuring that I didn't have to sign up for next semester and that was it. Was I wrong?

I got my acceptance letter Friday

My boyfriend got his rejection letter Saturday


I think I'm still going...but when I got on to accept today it said that you are required to have a 2.0 or higher GPA
and be in good academic standing with your school

I have good academic standing
but my GPA as of last semester was 1.917
It will be above a 2.0 after this semester...but I don't know how they do this.
Are they going to contact my school after I accept and find out I only have 1.9 and cancel my participation. Or will they check after the semester is over?

Thanks! I'm really happy that I got accepted. The boy is okay, he was only going for me I think. But yeah....I would tend to think they'd check at the end of the semester too.

I would just hate to accept and then get my participation cancelled for something like that and not be able to participate in the future.
If I knew that would happen, I'd rather decline and try next semester.

My advisor didn't really know anything when I asked at school. And I don't think it would be good to e-mail my recruiter and be like "hey! my gpa isn't high enough to participate right now...but it will be"

I got my letter today. Was accepted for Attractions again but will be declining since I applied to do Campus Rep instead and I want to focus on graduating before doing another CP.

I recieved in email on friday from my school (the people who oversee the Disney college program at my school) saying that my offer packet had arrived at the school but I had to pick it up on monday. Ya torture.

Anyways, I was offered Attractions. Which is pretty ironic. Last year when I was accepted but couldn't go, I was offered QSFB which was not even on my top 3 but my recruiter asked me if I was interested. I didn't have a problem since I work in a Deli and I'm sorta familiar with stuff like that. Anyways, Attractions was my 1st choice both times and this time I actually ended up with Attractions. I would have loved Merchandise aswell. Or anything... really. So glad my grades are up this semester, can't wait.

My name's Jenn I had my interview October 3rd and found out on October 13th (WOW it's been a month already?!) that I got ACCEPTED!!! YAY!!! I wanted Recreation but instead I got Lifeguarding which I'm really really excited about!! I've already booked my flight (ONE-WAY!!!) to Orlando for January 26th!! And I opted-in on the roommate notification thingie and just heard back from them so I'm pretty excited/nervous lol.. Anyone else Lifeguarding?

Just stopped by my mailbox on the way back from seeing the Florida Gators win their first basketball game of the year to find I was accepted for Attractions, Spring Advantage. Success!

I just found out today that I was accepted for Spring Advantage in vacation planning! The letter came about a week and a half after my phone interview. Vacation planning was my first choice, but hopefully I will have the chance during Spring Advantage to experience additional roles!
