2009 room only reservation question

I just made us a room-only reservation for Jan 5 - Jan 13 2009 at POFQ, which we will turn into a package in the summer when the 2009 package info comes out. We did the same thing last year for our Jan 2008 trip. I think when we did this last year, we were quoted the 2007 value season rate (which of course changed by a few dollars a night when the 2008 prices came out) because our trip was planned for value season. Today when I made the room-only Jan 2009 reservation, which historically will probably be value season again, I was quoted this year's peak season price. Does anyone know why that is?

I have no idea, but we're in the same boat, and I was wondering the same thing!

I just called them back because I was curious! The CM I spoke to said now they are charging the peak season price to EVERYONE who makes a room-only 2009 reservation, but he said the dates we're going will most likely be value season again and the rates on our reservation will be adjusted accordingly when the 2009 info comes out.

That's what I was told too. Good to know!
