2009 Epcot Food & Wine Festival - General Reviews & Observations

If anyone here tries out the dish from Cape Town with the sweet potato puree, can you let me know if there was a strong banana presence in the puree?

Not at all. There was a presence of lemon though. It was sooo good! I have a pic of that dish posted on my blog for the Cast Preview. My signature banner will take you to it.

Thanks - the picks and reviews were great - just what I needed. Can you hurry back and post some more!

DisneyEveryDay- Thank you for your great review and pics. Your group tried a bunch of things we want 2 try this year - love chicken souvlaki! Thanks again.

I was able to attend the Cast Preview Last night and put together an entire blog post with pictures of everything I tried.

I am new to the boards. This is my 1st post and I am not able to post a link to the Review until I have 10 posts so I can only suggest that you click the DisneyEveryDay.com banner in my signature to see the full review with photos.

Enjoy!

Fantastic pics and review! I can't wait to try everything!

You aren't wrong there. Two night on the trot I have been so very disappointed with my own dinner!!

The bags are around $30. Sorry, don't know the exact price.
Not sure how many there are for each country - but it's limited.

I'm subscribing to this thread. Love it! Going in 40 days. Wanna hear all I can before we go. Thanks for all the reports.:thumbsup2

Since I foolishly didn't mention the Food & Wine Festival in my thread title, I'm going to shamelessly self-promote it here.

Cy de Chantrer's LIVE ALL-FOOD Burlesque Review

Also, a note about the bags -- they are very limited and I don't know if they are planning on releasing a few at a time but it looked like they were gone yesterday. Perhaps they're going to bring out some more at various points during the weekend but I wouldn't be surprised if they are sold out completely. They were very popular and the materials were limited to last year's banners.

Love the review. Bummer about the bags. I would have liked one.

going in 18 days, bet at the festival in 19, thanks to all for your reviews and comments. is there a price list anywhere of samples yet, or can someone give me an idea what different things cost? I'm a F&W noob.

I think those bags will be gone faster than Utopias samples at Party for the Senseless. :lmao:

It's a bummer 'cause I'm sure there are plenty of folks going later (like Lori, and Chelsi, and me to name a few) who'd love to have one but I don't expect any to be left by October 14th when we first arrive. Oh well, just more money to spend on snackables.

DISNEYEVERYDAY you have a great review and pics.

Have others been since who can comment on the ability to use snack credits and whether the booths are cash only or take cards?
