2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

I found out yesterday that The Disney Store in my mall is closing :scared1: . The employees said that all stores in CT are closing except for one. What a sad day! I wonder why?

Disney has bought two-thirds of the Disney Stores back from The Children's Place (who bought them from Disney in 2004). The remaining stores (about 100) will be liquidated and closed by the end of the summer. Word on the street is that Disney will turn the stores back to the way they were before TCP bought them. Hopefully there will be more souvie type stuff and adult clothing instead of just kid's clothes and cheap promo stuff for their current films. I guess time will tell.

Count us in for 2009. I think that we will be at the Poly from April 27 to May 8. Then that might be the end of WDW for us. DS will be 9 when we go and DD will be 8, so taking them out of school will not be so easy in the future.

I am already trying to decide on the dining plan if we will go regular or deluxe. I am looking forward to what Disney comes up with for next year. I do have a list started in my head of the resturants that I want to eat at.

Hi Barb!!! We'll be at the Poly May 1- 8 also!!!

Time is going by so slowly. I am still sitting here reading posts to get my fix and dreaming about tonga toast, lol. My kids and I are still pumped about going again even though it seems so far. My parents are going with us and are mid sixties. I just want to get them there and have them really enjoy themselves. Lst trip they cancelled a week prior dur to unexpected illness.

DH is in no hurry to go. What is wrong with him??? He says maybe 5 days - we say maybe 8 days hoping for a discount. He is talking about a new car. The kids and I are saving away because we want to stay at the Poly again, especially with my parents.

Oh well, on the up side we are gettin our first family dog - a labradoodle F1b-in 8 days and he will be 8 weeks. He is a dark red caramel color. We are planning to name him Sebastian, lol.

We still miss the mouse. As Walt says, "Keep moving forward."

believe me I HEAR you....... I just keep wishing THIS July was our trip, not NEXT July......
For me- it seems so hard to save up this year, and the saving has been going slower- so I'm getting worried. some expenses will be increased on this next trip...an additional park hopper for my youngest who is now old enough to need one- and my oldest will now be considered an "adult"........
I went in July '06 and '07 and I can't help it- I would go every year !!! skipping a year to save up is just painful
i don't know if visiting disboards everyday helps or hurts !!! all i know is i need my disney fix EVERYDAY
and i know you guys "get it" :mickeyjum  :mickeyjum

Mickey2minnie1, we have Labradoodle too! She's the cutest. Although I think she might have ADD, but other than that she's a good dog. We just got a goldendoodle puppy at the end of March and she had learned to scratch at the back door, to go out, by the 4th day. She was only 6 weeks old. Her name is Disney, of course, and she's the smartest dog I've ever known.
Have fun with your new puppy!:yay:

Thanks for the support! We actually thought of that name, but all of my children's names begin with a "D" so I thought we better go with a different sound. Loooove the name, though!! I know he will help time fly by keeping me busy. I will still need my Disney fix here though, lol.

   We booked our flight for 27Jun'09 yesterday...that's the first step take:cool1:

WOW!!! Just occured to me that I really going to have to start stepping up my planning. :scared1: Just a few more months before my flights become available...

Kind of scary booking flights so early anymore. It's like you are darned if you do, darned if you don't. If you wait, prices go up, if you book, your airline declares bankruptcy.:worried:

Our flights will open up in late October (I think if I did the math right). I have the amount that I am willing to pay and when it falls into that range I am booking. Hopefully I won't have to increase the budget more for airline tickets.

Just think in about two months the packages will be released and we can all start booking those packages!!!!

We got a good deal on a flydrive package into Orlando Int (if you can call £2400/$4800 a good deal:rotfl2: ) it was about £800/£1600 less than any of the charter airlines flying into Sandford so we snapped it up. It's with Virgin Holidays so unless something shocking happens I don't see them going bust (touch wood:goodvibes ). I've even started buying bargin bits and pieces for the girls for next year:woohoo:

I'm also getting impatient (we're going in March). I have decided to wait for the packages to come out instead of just booking room only (I feel confident I will be able to get a room at POR by reserving this summer) but dang it, I want to be able to start serious planning!

We have a 1 1/2 year old goldendoodle that we ADORE! I love doodles!

Well here it is a Friday night and I am on the DIS dreaming of our trip once again. DH has already gone to bed so that leaves me here :surfweb:

I'm here too...and it's 11pm. :badpc: should go to bed but I get addicted reading trip reports and wishin' and dreamin' :goodvibes

I am also going in March and waiting for the packages, our spring break is at an odd time so I don't think All Star Movies will be booked. I also haven't bought our plane tickets so our trip doesn't feel real yet.

My mom just bought a Schnoodle puppy for my boys (we are unable to have dogs at our house) and he is soo cute, I would love to see what other doodles look like

I got word yesterday the my DMIL is going to start "giving me some money" for the trip. Unfortunately, this isn't for our use...this is so I can start planning the entire trip - there part included. :hyper: As it stands now, I may be making plans for 15 people...:scared1: I figure we'll lose some people before the trip, but they all have very high expectations.

Wonder if I should use a travel agent???

I've never used a TA, but I've never gone with more than 1 extra family before. Maybe you could try Small World Vacations. I've seen lots of good reviews of them on this message board. If I needed one, I think I would try them. It would be less stressful on you not having to deal with all the details for so many people, while trying to plan your own vacation as well! I would think you could just give the TA everyone's info, then the TA could contact everyone directly throughout planning stages, without having to use you as the middle-person all of the time. Good luck!
