2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

When we came back from our last trip back in Sept. 2006 at that time we were going to go every 5 years (I figured that is as often as I could get my husband to go). Then by the end of 2006 he said we could move it to every 4 years. I was thrilled! Then in August of 2007 he sat down and did some figuring and said we could swing it every 3 years so that is how we ended up going back in 2009. That is about perfect I think because we have other places we like to vacation also and it gives me enough of a build up to the trip even more special.

How often do all of you go?

We were going about every 4 years, but since the kids are getting older we've decided to go every 2 years. DD is already 13, will be 15 when we go again. If we go every 2 years, that only leaves 2 more trips before she's in college. That's way too scary to think about.

Well, since we are all the way in Idaho, we cannot go very often. Although, I have been lucky to have gone three years in a row! Our first trip was Dec 05...and our most recent trip was Jan 07. I am in school right now and money is tight...and so is our time.

I am really stoked about going after I graduate!! I am not sure how often we will go after that. I am hoping once a year.:yay: But most likely every few years. I am happy with that!:thumbsup2

I'm pretty excited - I think the wait will be worth it, especially since he said that we could probably swing staying at AKL or Poly

I practically swooned when he started the conversation - Disney every year, with seriously thinking about DVC!

Yes, I'm officially a Disney addict :rotfl:

I am excited for you! Being a Disney addict is a good thing!:dance3:

Could your DH call mine and try to convince him to do the same? :rotfl:

We need to get a support group together for our poor, poor dh's :rotfl: !! We really don't realize how tough life is for them when their dw's addiction is {{{:ssst: dare I say it?}}} DISNEY!!!!!!!! For shame :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That's a great idea - as long as the leader of the support group tells them to keep their Disney-addicted DW happy they must do whatever she tells them to do. :rotfl2:

I'm lucky--my DH actually LIKES the fact that I'm addicted! He'd go back tomorrow if we could afford it! (Of course, I think he likes it because he remembers how well our first trip went last summer! All that obsessing and planning had paid off!) But, the other day when I was commenting on possible places to eat summer of 2009, he DID give me a look that said he thought I might have a little problem. . .

Well, originally we were thinking we would be going to go 2008 for 4 or 5 nights. Now it will be 2009 with my DP.:yay: I am thinking since it further away, we will have to stay 7-9 nights. Hehe!!

I think my DH is secretly into Disney too - though I don't think he'll ever be as much of an addict as me

My DH husband loves Disney too, although he does think planning this far ahead is a bit ridiculous. But the last trip went without a hitch b/c I did so much planning, so how can he complain?

My DH claims he is not into it....but right now I can hear him singing with DD to the Princess Sing-Along:lmao:

He starts to get into it when I am making ADR's...he has a lot of say when it comes to that. He has to eat at Le Cellier every visit. He loves that place.

I planned the whole trip last time, and I did make some bad decisions - next time he's helping plan so he can't complain ;)

I am thinking that it is a possibility to book that far out when the packages open up. As long as your trip starts in 2009 it can end in 2010. Is it the last week of the year...I would book that as soon as you can since I know that is really busy time at WDW.
I am not 100% sure on that, though. :P

I had originally wanted to go in May 2009. Our previous trip was in July 2006. It was soooo hot and crowded. I think I have decided to switch it to October 3-10, 2009. I would have to take the kids out of school, but with notice I think it will still be ok. That gives me more time to plan and save. What do y'all think about October? Is the weather nice, still warm enough to enjoy the water, moderate crowds, and not a lot of rain? I counted out approx. 499 days, which is May 20, 2008. All advice is appreciated!!!

p.s. DH doesn't care when we go because he doesn't seem that much into it. I know he had fun when we went and brags to everyone about my great planning and the fun things we got to do, but I don't think he likes to spend the money.

Early October is still really, really hot - and it was very rainy

The crowds were really low though.

I asked DH tonight what he thought about WDW honestly and he said "fine"...... FINE.... FINE??????? I am in LOVE with Disney and have only been once..... What???? :confused3 Ugggg..... too bad he doesn't like it as much as I do. He says there's no point in getting excited when it's 14 months away.... Planning is half the fun for me though!! Don't get me wrong, he doesn't mind going, but he certainly doesn't act very excited about it.... Oh well.... I can still be happy and insanely planning every spare second!!

So on a different note - can I go ahead and book room only now?? I know I can upgrade to a package in August, but can I book both rooms now???
