2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

That's OK--we've got 12 months to get used to it! Here, maybe this'll make you feel better---> :<)
Awww, thanks!! I've emailed Bill, a Tech Support moderator, so who knows? Maybe, just maybe we'll be able to help me solve this!

Thanks for doing the list! Our plans are Jan 24-Feb 4 at the Pop!

Friday: rest during the day, MK at night I'd like to do CRT {{{opinions on Lunch vs Dinner needed}}} Maybe BBB before we do CRT

Unless it's changed, CRT isn't a character meal at dinner--only breakfast and lunch if that makes a difference to you.

Oops, nevermind! CRT is character for dinner now. When did that happen?

Has anyone done the afternoon tea @GF? I'm thinking DD who will be 7 when we go will love it.

We love the princess breakfast and have done the one in the castle and the one in Epcot. They are wonderful and the food is always good.

I would say one is enough for each trip. The same goes for all of them for us. Once with Mickey and the gang, once with Pooh and friends, etc.

Hi there!

Just checking back into the thread! Our plans for right now are May 16th - May 25th at the Wilderness Lodge.

Of course, this could change as it gets closer! ;)

If you'll change me to September please....thanks not sure where we are staying yet, as it may turn into a Grand Gathering. I am trying to talk my mother in law and my mom and step dad to go, also my sister and her 2 kids may tag along. Not sure yet though

You are phenomenal :thumbsup2 !!!!!!

I am feeling so overwhelmed right now. DH is out working, the kids have been asleep for quite awhile: perfect for me to curl up with my Disney book and the web. But instead of feeling excited, I'm feeling confused and overwhelmed.

We are supposed to go for 5 days, but I'm thinking of extending to 6 (poly). It's the dining that is throwing me into a tail spin. Here is what I have so far:

Sunday (arrive around 1PM): DInner at Chef Mickey/MK after dinner
Monday: MGM in the morning, Lunch at Hollywood & Vine (as long as dd2 is still obsessed with June & Leo), back to poly to rest. PM: Dh and I to Le Cellier for dinner and kids to the kids club
Tuesday: Epcot I'd like to go to Akershus{{{Opinions please on the L & D, which is preferred???}}}
Wednesday: Sea World 'Ohana for dinner
Thursday: MK in the morning??? Animal Kingdom at night (do they close early?) Boma for dinner
Friday: rest during the day, MK at night I'd like to do CRT {{{opinions on Lunch vs Dinner needed}}} Maybe BBB before we do CRT

Do you think the two Princess meals are too much? Am I jumping around too much? I definetly don't have the confidence some of you have, since I've NEVER been to any of the restaurants.

I need help:worship: !!!!!

I think your plan looks pretty good!! As the above poster mentioned, AK does usually close early. I'd switch that to morning and do MK at night on Thursday (or other -see below). Maybe Boma lunch?

Re:CRT dinner - I think it is a character meal, not a Princess meal though. I believe you still get the photo shoot with Cindy downstairs, but upstairs is just the Fairy Godmother and the mice. So maybe a late lunch on Friday? You could still relax in the AM, do a late AM, early PM BBB appt, then do lunch and wrap up your trip in MK. Sounds wonderful!

Here's one other thing I'm thinking. I think you have a good balance of the parks - MK the most, full day at Epcot, half days at MGM/AK - with our kids being close in age, I totally agree with this. However, even if you do make it to MK that first night (which, if you arrive at 1 and take time to rest/explore until dinner at CM, might work out) - will your kids be OK with not going back to MK until Thurs? Just something to think about! MK is so magical!!

If you decide NOT to do 2 Princess meals, and decide on CRT, maybe make Tuesday Epcot during the day and head back to the MK that evening. Dinner either in MK or at a resort prior. If you need more Epcot time, then you could do that Thursday evening instead of MK. This would spread your MK time out more throughout the week instead of just 1st day and last 2 days. If your kids don't really seem to LOVE Epcot (mine totally did!) on Tuesday, then you can just do MK again on Thursday night. If you do decide on Boma lunch, then you wouldn't be tied down to a park/area that night and could decide once you see how the kids feel about the parks. Being at the Poly, the transportation is so convenient to both MK and Epcot.

One thing I would definitely stick with is "beginning" and "ending" at MK - with young kids it is just the MOST magical!!

Just some thoughts!

Whoo-hoo, I have a ticker!! I've never had one before!

Also just did the ADR calculator - looks like I can call on November 3rd!

I just happened to stumble upon this today. Thanks for starting it.:thumbsup2 We are going in 2009, also. I'm not sure of dates yet. It will be in the summer time. DH wants to stay at Pop this time. We have stayed at Sports, AKL and BWI before. We are all very excited about staying at Pop.:cheer2:

Now, I just have to figure out when we will go. A lot depends on my work schedule. I'm hoping we can go the end of May, beginning of June, before it gets too terribly hot. I get miserable in the heat.:scared:

You guys are the best! Thanks so much for coming to my aid :grouphug: !!

I've been playing around with parks/dining options and it's starting to look good. I have decided on Akershus instead of CRT, and since Tusker House has gotten so many nods here {and on the dining thread}, I've added that (had to remove Boma...)

DH has rolled his eyes more than once today  , so I'm taking a break from paper/pencil planning. Thanks again!!!!

Thank you so much for trying to help me solve this problem -- but, alas, I don't have that option within my "Additional Options" section at the bottom of the page. :<( Even THAT isn't showing up.

I have only -- a Misc Options box w/Show signature & Automatically parse links...

Then, in the Thread Subscription box/Notification Type w/choices

Then, a Rate Thread box/ If you like, you can add a score, etc w/choices

And that is all.... do you see much more than that??

I've posted this problem on the tech thread, but so far, no one has been able to figure out why I don't have these options. I"ve lived without them this long, guess I'll just have to continue ... but THANK YOU for trying! :<)

One last idea.....scroll down on this page (all the way to the bottom). Do you see a small box on the left hand side? Does it say "Smilies off"? If it does, click it, and it should change to "smilies on".

Good Luck!

I'm impressed, Arkasas mom! You've got us all organized!!:thumbsup2

Great job, it's nice to see when everyone is going. As soon as the school district lets us know when spring break is going to be next year, then I will have exact dates. I feel like things are on hold till I have dates and I haven't gotten a firm yes from my sis if her family is going, so I am just planning like it's me and my boys or really not planning just waiting, more like dreaming and trying to make time fly.
I haven't been on in a while and love reading everyone's plans so far.
We are going to do a value resort, either all star movies or pop, haven't decided any ideas??

Well, I haven't done movies, but I've done music. Same thing, right? All Stars, in my opinion don't hold a candle to Pop. Pop is vibrant and magical. And over-the-top in its design and theming. It just feels so much more alive with the Disney magic to me. Let me see if I can find a few of our photos...

Yes, I have that box -- but it already says "Smilies On". ??? I have emailed a moderator and just finished answering a bunch of his Q's over on the Tech Support thread. Hoping that he is able to help figure this out .... but THANK YOU for trying!!

We've been to Movies & Pop. We didn't find much difference as far as the rooms, but the theme is of course, different. When our boys were younger & were REALLY INTO Disney animated movies, the large character statues were especially fun. It was fun for them to have photos with Toy Story people, etc. There is DISNEY everywhere you look.

Last year, we were at Pop, and now that our boys are a bit older, they found the giant yo-yos, etc fun. Not as much Disney-themed, but definitely bright & colorful.

We will be going back to Pop -- mostly for the faster bus services to/from the parks. Each bus stops at EACH All Star Resort ... whereas buses go directly to/from Pop. That in itself makes all the difference to me. :<)

It's football day here at our house .... for everyone but me. Little do our boys know that as they watch their favorite team, Mom is clicking away pre-planning our next WDW vacation! Half of me wants to just tell them .... while the logical side (that has to live here :<)), knows that it is WAAAYYY to early to utter those magical words .... WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD in 1 year and 4 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew, thanks for letting me celebrate here! Go Patriots! :<)

Well, Maddie2, you have a smilie in your post title! That's progress. Maybe? Here's hopin' they get you fixed up! :goodvibes

Wishful thinking. :<) I've always been able to put a stationary smiley face in the title.

Boy, time sure flies when you are on the computer, doesn't it? It's already past 5pm here .... I need to get some laundry done! Yikes! Happy Sunday everyone!
