~2009 Baseball PostSeason Thread~ (Blame the...White Towels??)

Add one Red Sox fan to the count.:thumbsup2

My eternal pessimism :sad2:regarding their chances has kicked in, but the planets may align for them.

Those 9:45 EDT starts on Thurs & Fri will be killers.:scared1:

Holy cow! What a muff by the St Louis left fielder. A classic...

I felt bad for Roy Holliday. Definitely a Bill Buckner moment for Cardinals fans.

What I don't understand is the sudden controversy over waving white towels during ballgames. That's been a tradition forever. :confused3 Whatever happened to saying: "hey, we screwed up & lost fairly." Blaming towels is a new low.

Update: 10/10/09

I honestly have to lean toward the Twins side during last night's Min/NYY game. Probably the worst call I've ever seen by an umpire.

Wow - how bout that Angel comeback to sweep the Bosox? Amazing!!!

And what about the TBS broadcasters? Is it just me, or did it seem almost like they were at a funeral? Are they on the Boston payroll? Don't they realize they're broadcasting to the whole country, even the left coast?

Hmm, white towels in St. Louis. How did that work out for them?

:surfweb:

Buh Bye PappelBOMB!:banana::banana::banana:

GO YANKEES!:cheer2:

(I'm a little nervous with the Angels too though.....shhh.)

Don Orsillo is the regular play-by-play man for the Red Sox.

That was a tough loss for us Sox fans.:guilty:

Please beat the Yankees!:wizard:

Yanks are pulling away from the twins -- it's 4-1 now and Yanks still have the bases loaded. If the Yanks hold on, they will have won all 10 games with the Twins this year after trailing in all 10 games. I wonder if that's ever happened before.

As a lifelong Dodger fan, here's hoping for an all SoCal World Series with L.A. over Anaheim.

Rooting for the Angels, myself, but a freeway series would be nice.

And now we wait. No baseball until Thursday and the ALCS doesn't start until Friday despite the fact that both teams ended their series on Sunday. I know MLB lets the TV networks set the schedule, but that's ridiculous.

Brewers fan here, but I guess I am hoping for a freeway series too. Those poor deprived Yankees who haven't been in the ALCS since 2004 :scared1:  and well, the Phillies won last year. I'm definitely pulling for the Angels!

This schedule has really stunk all around! My DS is already upset that the 1st Philies/Dodgers game is after his bedtime. He did get to watch part of last night's game, but that's it...the others were on during school, or after he was in bed.
