Cindyfan How were the crowds this june at Disneyworld???? We are planning a trip and we are considering the first week of june or maybe the second. I am a teacher and coach so it is hard to go any other time. We usually like early may. Any info you could give would be great. Also how was the heat?
We always visit Walt Disney World for ten days beginning the last two or three days of May through the full first week of June. First of all, be aware that the first weekend in June is Gay Days. The Magic Kingdom will be flooded with extra visitors. Avoid the Magic Kingdom at all costs. Other than that, the other parks aren't too crowded because of the event.
You will also probably be able to catch the last bit of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. It usually runs through the first weekend in June. It's definitely worth a trip to Epcot. The flowers and topiaries are gorgeous. I take soooo many pictures at Epcot. The crowds at Epcot aren't usually effected too much by the Flower and Garden Festival.
At the four theme parks, some of the most popular rides had waits of 60 minutes or more beginning around 1:00 p.m. or so. You will need to adjust your park touring to incorporate the "must see" rides first thing in the morning. Use Fastpass for the rides/attractions you don't get to see during the morning hours.
We take two days to tour the Magic Kingdom, two days to tour Epcot, one day for MGM and one day for Animal Kingdom.
We went to Typhoon Lagoon one day and took advantage of the extra magic morning hours. The park opened at 9:00 a.m. to Disney resort guests. We arrived around 9:15 a.m. and were able to do almost everything (some things several times) by 1:00 p.m. We skipped Crush n Gusher and one other thing (can't remember what it was). By 1:00 p.m., the park had become quite congested so we headed back to our resort.
One day was spent at Downtown Disney. We got there about 10:30 or so. We headed over to Disney Quest and were surprised that it wasnt' very busy. We were able to do Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Aladdin's Magic Carpets, Ride the Comix, Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain and oodles of arcade games without hardly any wait. I think the longest we waited was about 15 minutes. We ate our lunch upstairs and were very surprised at how good it was. We visited Disney Quest again later in our vacation (it was storming) and it was pretty crowded that day. We expected that since it was raining.
Now to the weather, expect rain showers. I think there was only three days out of 10 that it didn't rain at least once a day. We brought along our ponchos and kept on park touring. The crowds seem to less when it rains but don't let it stop you.
The temperatures were a lower this year than in previous years. We were used to temps. being in the 90s. This year, the temps. were in the 80's. We are from Louisiana and the humidity is usually super high. The Florida humidity doesn't bother us at all.
I hope this helps. If you need more info., just let me know.
