Does anyone know when the 2008 rates for the resorts come out? I'm sorry if this has already been covered. I did a search, but I didn't find any matches. Thanks for your help.

No one knows for sure. Weve been told any day, July, August and possibly not til September. I guess they love to keep us in suspense.:scared:

I've been calling Disney almost daily (sometimes more than once a day) and checking online :surfweb: since June 13, 2007 to find out when the 2008 rates will be out.

Most of the CMs have told me mid-August. This would line up with the last two years. I booked our 2006 and 2007 vacations on August 15th.

I had one CM who just giggled and said anytime now. A few others have said it could be as early as the first of July.

I've kept my fingers crossed for so long now that they have cramps. :rotfl:
I hope they come out soon!

I am wondering too.
We just got back on June 16th..... and already need another fix!!:rotfl:
We never get enough.
So ...... we need to plan another trip!!
But 2008 will be tricky getting a time narrowed down.
Looks like June may be out of the question this year. So it may be either July or April....... and July is too hot!! and crowded.
Sooooooooo..... we may shoot for the second half of my DD spring break from school. April. Easter is early this year..... so might work out.

Do you know if the AAA rates will come out at the same time?????
Let's hope so!!

Cindyfan How were the crowds this june at Disneyworld???? We are planning a trip and we are considering the first week of june or maybe the second. I am a teacher and coach so it is hard to go any other time. We usually like early may. Any info you could give would be great. Also how was the heat?

We always visit Walt Disney World for ten days beginning the last two or three days of May through the full first week of June. First of all, be aware that the first weekend in June is Gay Days. The Magic Kingdom will be flooded with extra visitors. Avoid the Magic Kingdom at all costs. Other than that, the other parks aren't too crowded because of the event.

You will also probably be able to catch the last bit of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. It usually runs through the first weekend in June. It's definitely worth a trip to Epcot. The flowers and topiaries are gorgeous. I take soooo many pictures at Epcot. The crowds at Epcot aren't usually effected too much by the Flower and Garden Festival.

At the four theme parks, some of the most popular rides had waits of 60 minutes or more beginning around 1:00 p.m. or so. You will need to adjust your park touring to incorporate the "must see" rides first thing in the morning. Use Fastpass for the rides/attractions you don't get to see during the morning hours.

We take two days to tour the Magic Kingdom, two days to tour Epcot, one day for MGM and one day for Animal Kingdom.

We went to Typhoon Lagoon one day and took advantage of the extra magic morning hours. The park opened at 9:00 a.m. to Disney resort guests. We arrived around 9:15 a.m. and were able to do almost everything (some things several times) by 1:00 p.m. We skipped Crush n Gusher and one other thing (can't remember what it was). By 1:00 p.m., the park had become quite congested so we headed back to our resort.

One day was spent at Downtown Disney. We got there about 10:30 or so. We headed over to Disney Quest and were surprised that it wasnt' very busy. We were able to do Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Aladdin's Magic Carpets, Ride the Comix, Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain and oodles of arcade games without hardly any wait. I think the longest we waited was about 15 minutes. We ate our lunch upstairs and were very surprised at how good it was. We visited Disney Quest again later in our vacation (it was storming) and it was pretty crowded that day. We expected that since it was raining.

Now to the weather, expect rain showers. I think there was only three days out of 10 that it didn't rain at least once a day. We brought along our ponchos and kept on park touring. The crowds seem to less when it rains but don't let it stop you.

The temperatures were a lower this year than in previous years. We were used to temps. being in the 90s. This year, the temps. were in the 80's. We are from Louisiana and the humidity is usually super high. The Florida humidity doesn't bother us at all.

I hope this helps. If you need more info., just let me know.

Thanks mickeystoontown..... :thumbsup2
I will just add a couple things...... from my experiences....
BTW..... my DD is a teacher and another reason we have gone in June. She and her family came with us the last 2 years. :goodvibes
If you can choose between the first or second weeks.... definitely go with the first.... but after the Memorial Day weekend.
We have seen crowds increase daily as you get farther into the month. By the 15th - 20th you are into the "summer" crowds.
You will also see an increase in heat and humidity by the middle of the month.
Funny how just a week makes a difference! And increase in the afternoon rain showers. This year wasn't bad at all. we only had 2 days that rain interupted our plans at all. We had to skip our afternoon swim one day and the other... just ducked into the shops at MK for about half an hour. Never even needed a poncho at all this year. Previous years we have....so it's a lot of luck there.
Also.... try to get there for the Flower and Garden show... we were really sad that we missed it the last 2 years. It is great!!!!
Crowds can be avoided if you are smart about fast-pass AND when to avoid or use Extra Magic Hours. We never saw waits longer than 40 minutes.... and that was only on Rock n Roller Coaster.... but it was Star Wars Weekend. Oh, almost forgot...... .. the safari one day was up to 60 minutes. But you should FP that.

Hope this helps!! Any other questions... LMK. :goodvibes

I am waiting to hear about this as well. We have the same spring break for once (I teach in one district and live in another) and have a beach vacation booked on the gulf side, but Disney is calling me. I am going to wait until after our August trip to see how we feel, but we may book a late March trip (Easter is March 23--very early!)

:cool1: When I look up the date for Easter..... I was very excited that we may be able to do Disney in April.
We can't go anywhere in May because there is just too much going on at school....
And when Easter is in April.... it really narrows down our available times... and the rates are still at "peak" rates. So..... here's hoping they start regular season by the first of April!!!
Regular season rates have typically started like 5 to 7 days after Easter. :thumbsup2
