It is a balmy 87 degrees here (11:12am FL, home of WDW), 65% humidity and a feels like of 93.
In Anaheim, CA (home of Disneyland) right now (8:12am) it is 81 degrees, 44%humidity and a feels like of 81. High there today is supposed to be 92.

Gee, I think for me the difference will be the dryness of the heat. I am assuming that I won't have sweat dripping off of me, it will just dry and be sucked up into the atmosphere.

I use banada's on my head and around my neck. I have one called the "Cool Off" that I got at Western States 100 Expo back in 97 when I attempted the race. It has a shamy inside. You get it wet and stays wet for long time and cools of my back. I used this for many hot ultras and WDW races. Just re-wet when at aid station. You have to be creative to stay cool.

BTW, we received our postacrds for the DL race. Were official. Now lots of work to do

I can handle the heat, it's what I'm used to running in. It's the humidity that I am not used to and don't do well with. Not to mention that it makes for a bad hair day and we certainly can't have that.

Oh and I need to update my race info for the Disneyland 1/2 marathon. I just signed up for the 5K. So, I'm now doing both the 1/2 and 5K.

If anyone hasn't bought their DL tickets yet, I ordered mine thru the travel agent listed in the last DL half email newsletter. I got 3 day hoppers for $138 that is $30 less than the DL website. If this has been posted already sorry.

Robert - Jen and I are looking forward to meeting up with you and Linda at DL. Are you planning on going to Blue Bayou at all? Or maybe we could take a ride on space mtn all together

We are doing a 4 day hopper from the newletter company. Much cheaper and without tax. See you in 2 months

They will mail them to you for $15 Fed Ex 2 Day or you can pick them up at expo. Noon on Friday or 10 am on Sat. I would pay for shipping and not worry about getting them our delaying entry.

I only have 12 miles scheduled for this Sunday. I know, I know, such a slacker.

Bump up to 14 miles in July, and 16 miles in August, so 13 is a breeze. Just hoping the breezes are blowing in August, and not the Santa Ana winds, those are brutal.

Hey Jeff: Your miles are just too much for me... let's see I don't get to 12 miles until July 27th. I do 8,9,10,8,12,8,13.1,6,8 then DL 1/2.

I say Friday, maybe afternoon-ish time I think the expo opens at Noon so maybe sometime around then. I will problably be over in that area around that time to pickup my race packet so the expo meet or a Jambaa Juice is fine, again I have never been there before so I have no preference as to the exact place.

That's my two cents, what does anybody else want to do.

I am picking mine up at the Expo as Robert stated. We are staying at DLH and we don't arrive in LAX until 10 am on friday anyway, so it seems like no big deal. I just called the # and told them I wanted to purchase tix for the DL half. I was connected to a guy named Bill. Pretty easy and good price.

As far as training, I have a 7 miler on tap for tomorrow. I am planning on increasing by one mile every week going up to 12 then taper down to 9 then 6 then the race. Worked well for me last year. I hope my LR tomorrow goes smoother than my last 2 I don't know if it is the summer heat here in SC that I am not used to or what, but it has been HARD!

I'll be driving in on Friday from NorCal. So Sat PM would be best, (doing the 5k and DD4 is doing the kids races in the AM) but if you decide on Friday, I would only be able to make it in the PM. That is, if you go with Jamba Juice. If you decide on the Expo, Friday PM is when I'll have to be there! Whatever you guys decide...I'll just try to work it out.
