Kitchen Sink: No. Not covered by any Dining Plan

Dining Plan and Deluxe Dining Plan: See the 2008 DDP FAQ sticky at the top of this forum.

This may have been answered, but I can't find it. Does anyone know the gratuity on the DDP, while not included, is figured and "added" for you?

I will tip well for great service, but I don't want to have to be "required" to tip upwards of $40 for a table of six when I didn't get such great service, which I know will be rare, but I don't want the tip figured for me.

Regardless of how you are paying for your meal (DDP or OOP), you'll be charged an auto gratuity of 18% for parties of 6 or more.

If you are using the DDE Discount card - an auto gratuity of 18% will be added regardless of party size.

If you receive poor service, you may speak with a manager to have the tip reduced or removed.

I tried to find the answer to this question but couldn't so forgive me if this has already been asked.

If I eat at a TS restaurant using the Disney Dining Plan, will I receive a bill to help me figure out how much to tip? We are a party of 3.

Secondly, if I opt to charge the tip using my KTTW card, can I specify how much I want to tip?

Thanks

Yes and Yes

Yes, the bill will show suggested tip amounts at the bottom based on your bill.

Yes, when you charge you can add the tip, however there were reports earlier this year that the DDP credits and tip need to be swiped at the same time. You'll fill in the tip amount, ask them to charge that to the room and remove the dining plan credits from your card.

I am booked for POR 9/21-9/27. Could I add one day (the 20th) and get free dining for the whole trip?
I have already booked my airfare so I'm trying to figure out if it will be worth it cost wise to change one flight.

I am sure this has been brought up, but in checking the dining plan brochure, appetizers are still included for ages 3-9 for TS. Is this in addition to the kid's meal? If so, that may not be so bad... Is this a child's appetizer or a regular appetizer off the menu? I can't remember if there are different appetizers on the kid's menu.

This is totally bizarre, but after reading in the 2008 dining plan brochure, it states taht appetizers are included at TS meals only for ages 3-9. Not adults. After speaking with Disney, apparently not many CS reps know either, but apparently, appetizers ARE included in the DDP for ages 3-9.

I would love it if someone else could verify this, as I know you can get different information from different reps. However, my CS rep was wonderful and seemed very diligent in finding this out, and was glad to know it as well.

It's not gratuity, but it is something. Our family of four will now get to share one appetizer, which is normally what we do anyway.

Let me know if anyone else finds this out.

I believe that the child's apps are part of the 7.49 meal ie carrot sticks, chicken noodle soup, etc Check out the menus I am pretty sure that childrens meals are 3 course and this is where the apps would fall. Not positive but that is how it appears to me

I am not an expert here, but I believe that is how it is. I did ask my rep and I said that and they agreed, so I don't know if they knew or just agreed that it sounded logical.

Just to restate a little differently. Alot or most childrens meals come with an appetizer, entree, dessert and drink and that is why they are saying that a child can get an appetizer. But please someone tell me that they have been at some restaurant and the childs meal didn't come with one and they got to order an appetizer off the adult menu! That would be very cool because I am going to sorely miss the appetizers!!!!

Nope. Children get an appetizer because the kids' meals COME with an appetizer. Period. No adding on an adult appetizer at no cost. Period.

Then just order an appetizer and pay for it OOP :confused3 Or go to buffets, because you can have as much as you want of any course at all -- you could eat all salad, or all dessert, or all the appetizers you want :goodvibes

I have quick question. We order the DDP basic for the week we will be down. I hope we did the write thing. We stay Old Key West. Have a kitchen. I do a big breakfast then hit the park. Anyway could I order my lunch snack or what ever and if I don't want it give it to my kid? Or a soda at dinner can I give it to one of my children?

Yes, you can. If you check in by the 20th, then you WILL get free dining for the entire length of your stay. :thumbsup2

I am very sad. I spent about 2 hours on hold this a.m. hoping to swap my bounce-back rate at the AKL for the FREE DDP. It's $100 more expensive to get the FREE DDP... I couldn't even believe it. I guess I'll stick with the bounce-back rate. I was soo looking forward to a better deal... Ay yi yi...
