2008 Confirmed Snacks included in the Dining Plan-2009 Coming Soon!!!

Just had it confirmed By Disney reservations UK that the DDP is no longer available at either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach so the snacks won't be either...

That's really odd. Maybe snacks but I can't imagine them removing the CS from both locations.

:confused3

That doesn't make sense at all. I know snacks were limited at the water parks but the CS meals too??? I think we should wait until the disney in Florida confirms it first before we all get upset over it.

I can't imgine Disney not running a disclaimer if that was the case. Some people would likely only carry a small amount of cash and their KTW card with them to a water park, imagine what would happen if you had no other means of purchasing food for the day. I think there is a mistake somewhere.

We're going to visit both TL and BB at the beginning of Sept. I will report back but I'm sure we can still eat at the main locations. Seems to me this question comes up every year about TL and BB. This will be our 5th time using DDP and we have always been able to eat at the waterparks. But yes, you can't use DDP or your KTTW card at the snack locations.

So, if you don't hear anything definite before I leave I'll post a note on Sept. 12th. :goodvibes

Thanks to everyone who contributed. This is our first trip using the deluxe dining plan and I have been wondering how we're going to use 56 snack credits. Awesome boards, couldn't disney without em.

People have posted on trip advisor regarding the 2 water parks(the CS have notices in the window saying "NO DDP" the family had to charge back their food to the room as they didn't have enough cash with them

I called Disney n on 08702424900 who confirmed this & said I need to set up an account before going there or take money, I'm going on Sunday so I'll report back..

That sounds frustrating--especially since the brochure lists them as having the DDP. Personally, I'd end up just not purchasing food while in the water parks if I was on the DDP. It'll be interesting to see if there's backlash about the fact that they are being advertised as having the DDP, if they really aren't honouring it.

Note: the brochure does indicate only the CS locations, not the snack locations--could people just be mixing up which are CS vs. snack locations?

I just called Disney. If it is listed on the 2008 DDP brochure (found on Disney's website) it is still accepted/available. I'm sure there are some small snack carts that don't accept the dining plan but there are CS available at both water parks. There are 2 CS restaurants at TL and 3 at BB. On the brochure it lists them as only CS but I would guess that you could get items that are under $4 can be used as a snack credit.

oh thanks goodness that rumor was false,we leave on Friday and would have been suprised when we wouldn't have been able to order lunch

I hope your right ;) here is what the lady reported, I'm going to charge back to my room if the DDP not accepted on the day & do what this lady did.

Let me also fill you in......we had planned to eat a counter lunch at both Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach. They do NOT accept the dining plan. Even had signs up saying so. We charged on our room key our lunch one day as I hadn't brought cash along, and then paid cash at Blizzard Beach.
Before we left I explained that the water parks would not take the dining plan.
They took the Lunch charge at Typhoon Lagoon ($32) off of my bill, but I , of course, did not have the receipt for lunch at Blizzard Beach I'd paid cash for or they would have compensated me for that too.

Why would they stop accepting the DDP? That is just cRAZy! They sure are making the DDP less and less valuable, first no appetizer, no tip, and now not at the waterparks!

Perhaps a machine was down that day? We used our DDP both for meals and snacks at a few places in TL. There were some snack areas that didn't take DDP or room charge but they were very small and that is the case for some of the small snack carts in the parks as well.

Ok anyone who has just gotten back from their Disney trip and has updates for this thread, post now. I am leaving August 22 and am debating when to copy this list off!:cool1:

JJohnson,

I just wanted to thank you again for keeping this list and checking it twice... You are the snack food equivilant to Santa. :worship:

I just printed my list including any resorts that we will be going to for ADR's and such so we will be ready to snack plan. LOL

I know it was a lot of work and I appreciate it!

okay so The DDP snacks are for a drink and a snack. What are you using the drink part for if not for water? We are going in Sept and will have the free DDP. Can't wait.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but you can't get a drink and a snack with one snack credit, you can get a drink, but it doesn't come with a snack. Besides water you can usually get sodas, juice, or coffee.

Hello Everyone!! This is an awesome thread and I am so excited to use it for our trip this September. I just had a question that may sound stupid...but is there a reason that some resorts have more approved snacks on the DDP than others or is that how it happened to fall? We are staying at CBR and I am thinking that the best thing will be to pick up snacks in the parks and bring them back with us.....?

Again, thanks so much for compiling this great list and I am loving being a part of the board!princess:
