2008 BAN Wagon Support Group

I had a tumble today, (and it's all LoganandTaylorsMom and BAMB fault!) but did use a 50% coupon. Yesterday at the crop we opened up Jenn's cricut markers and started playing. I HAD to get them! Jenn and I did a swap so I got two to play with but today I bought a whole package so I have lots of colors.:lovestruc I find out why again I should not bring DH to ACM. When the woman rang up my order, he questioned how much markers cost. Umm, dear, these are Magic Markers.

I am also teetering on an Expression now after seeing two in action yesterday. ACM has them this week for $319. I called BAMB to help me stay on the wagon, do you know what she said. "That's a good price!!" No help there at all! Off to the naughty mat with her. I keep thinking about it, and I want to jump right off, it comes with 4 cartridges and more markers! I want it, I want it, I want it!!!!:worship:

I think I'll go back later in the week, hopefully someone else will have bought it and I'll get a raincheck so I can buy it later on.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

OK Lisa, it is a truly horrible price, you have absolutely no need for the Expression. It's a horrid little machine that sucks you in and never lets you go!!!!! It's evil!!!!!!
Run Run away right now and never ever go near it again!!!!!!

:teeth: Is that better????

Besides you can use mine! LOL

She's just trying to get off the naughty mat!!! ;)

i want the expression too!!!! i'm right there with you lisa!!!!

Get it in exchange for one of your shopping days - after all, if you have that then you won't need anything else to play with anyway:thumbsup2

And I am WAY jealous as the best price I've seen for Expression plus ONE cart is £469, and yes, there are still $2 to the £ :earseek: so i had no trouble resisting. If I'd seen it for £160 with loads of extras I'd have bitten their hand off:lmao:

That is MUCH better!!:lmao: I so wish today I had bought it yesterday. We are #%@*ed in today, I could play with my big bug. Guess I will play with my little cricut and my markers instead. :goodvibes

Aroyer and Po3, you are not helping!!!

Mazda, I wish I could pick you up one and send it to you!

I am so proud of myself! OK I was working on pages on Saturday and using design studio. It was all setup and I hit cut and it told me to add a cart I didn't have! I was set to go out and buy it right then and there, but instead I revamped the design using only my carts (actually checked my stash to make sure I had the ones I was selecting this time). To make matters more fun, I went into Mikes to buy my 2008 book (I didn't find one I liked so I will have to go to Joanns today :confused3 ) any way of course the carts are at the end of the isle and of course they attracted my attention. They are still on the after Christmas sale and guess what...they had the cart I needed! I persevered though and left with not one thing in my hand!
Lets see if I can leave Joanns tonight with only a book!

Be strong! I got mine when Hobby Lobby didn't exclude Cricut on their coupon. I paid $250.xx (and that price included some adhesive and 7.25% tax). So $319 isn't that big of a bargain.;) (Curious, what 4 carts came with it. Mine had AE and PS.) It just came out of the box this week (after much urging from a friend). It still has the plastic on it. It was one of those deals where I knew I'd kick myself later if I passed up that price, but there was a lot of guilt because I didn't need it. I was perfectly happy with the little bug (still am). DH seemed okay with the Expression all along. It's just my hangup. I'm not sure how long it'll take me to actually use it, though.

:cheer2: Way to go! That's impressive willpower.

My weakness is on sale this week. It's difficult for me not to go hog-wild when it comes to paper. Cardstock might fall into the "need" category, though.

I'm feeling weak. I've successfully avoided going into any store since Jan 1, but I'm busting my butt out there shoveling today. The last time I did that (in December), I rewarded myself with 2 new Cricut carts. Right now I just finished session one (to be continued when the sn** finally stops) and I'm thinking that Doodletype would really hit the spot right about now. Talk me out of it!

Think about the bright side, you are sn**ed in. You can't go get a new cart. The roads are far too hazardous for you to even think about it. You will NOT order on line because you are far too smart financially to pay the shipping fees.

There. Did that help?

Not so much, because the price is so good for that cart already, the $5 shipping is not at all unreasonable.

BUT, I can tell myself that I haven't even begun to play with the last 2 I got, so I really should not allow myself anymore until I do. I'm feeling a little stronger.

Is there another cartridge you have that is similar? Personally, I don't feel the need for Doodletype because I have Base Camp and Plantin SchoolBook. (If I would've had the Expression sooner, I probably wouldn't have gotten Base Camp.) Don't get me wrong, they are all nice fonts, but they are very similar. You'll feel better if you have a cup of hot chocolate and save the money. Stay up here on the wagon with me.

I've been a little bit naughty  I ordered my Xyron sticker thing and postage was £2.49, so i sneaked a look at the sale pages :guilty: I got a couple of nice ribbons for 99p each instead of £1.99 and a basic grey random pack for £5.99 which will have an assortment of 10 pages, plus tags/matchbooks/alphabets worth over £10 (I normally have to pay £14-18 for a BG pack). So I only spent £16 with postage. I didn't trawl through ALL the pages looking at everything as I would have done normally.

No more paper for me now unless someone buys me the new BG pack for my birthday (or I might get it on 29/2 as I will have birthday money by then)

It occurred to me a few minutes ago that I have gone an entire 2 weeks without buying a single scrapbook item...not a piece of paper, not a glue pen, nada, zip, zilch:). I am reasonably certain that I didn't go a whole 2 weeks at any point in 2007 without some kind of scrapping purchase. Funny thing is, I've done 13 pages in these two weeks, which is more than I ever scrapped in a 2 week period. I wonder if these things are related?!?

Come on, everyone! Be strong! Think of how much fun you'll have on a planned shopping day when you've behaved yourself to get there!!

I went to ACMoore today, and walked out with nothing! Yup, you read it right, nothing! I went for the cuttlebug Disney dies, but didn't have a coupon, and they weren't on sale (I thought they were)...

THEN I was looking at the Purple Cow cutter...OK, who has one, and is it really as great as it looks? I'll use a coupon and the rest of my gift card on that.....

:cheer2: Yea, Debbie! I know how hard that is.

Way to scrap, Kim. (I do think they are related.)

:cheer2: :cheer2: Good for you Kim! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Me, myself and I are having symptoms of shopping withdrawl. :scared: So can we turn this wagon around, I just want to go to Recollections one time before they close completely. (pretty please, with sugar on top)

Kim - I am so with you on that! I did buy some new tools because my others broke but I've not bought any embellishments or paper and I've done 13 pages in a weekend which is more than I've EVER accomplished before.

Stay strong, ladies. The feeling of accomplishment is wonderful!!!!!

Well, I actually have had no desire to go shopping for supplies.. I have so much stacked up in my scrap area that I haven't even had time to put away my exemption day from Grandpa's funeral.. The kids' activities have been overwhelming this week that I haven't had time to scrap. Well, that is going to change tomorrow....
