2008 BAN Wagon Support Group

This BAN thread has really been helpful for me. Thank you. I feel that I was fairly conservative before. But this BAN has made me think more about what I really need and will use.

I took a trip to Target last night to get some of those elusive mailboxes in the dollar spot. (I've been wanting some for Valentine gifts, and just started looking. I had no idea they had been flying off the shelves for the past two weeks or so. People are hoarding these things, buying amounts in the thirty-somethings making it difficult to find any at all. I've been staying out of the stores and thought these would be out closer to Valentine's Day.)

Anywho, I picked up a few of the other items there that looked neat, but thought about it and put them back before they could get in my cart. Before the BAN, I'm sure I would've just stuck those dollar items in my cart, and they would still be sitting on my shelves in a couple of months. So all I got were some mailboxes and Valentine paper for altering them. It felt pretty good. Thanks for the wagon ride. It's a bumpy one, but worth it.

One of the big plusses of joining the ban wagon is that it makes us all think before buying, so hopefully, if we slip off, it's just a small slip instead of one of those over the top shopping sprees. By the way, I've also got way too many stickers!

I'm in danger of slipping....I really want those Daisy D tape runners that look like sewing and I've found a UK company that provides them! Help! Someone tell me they are really bad to work with please! (And nobody tell me to use a sewing machine because mine is really naughty and keeps running away across the middle of whatever I try to sew )

I've never heard nor seen what you are referring to but I'm still going to tell you that they are hard to work with. Stay strong!

I'm doing well, I think. I sorted more stuff yesterday. Overflow from Secret Sister's and swaps and such.

I AM NOT ALLOWED TO JOIN ANY DISNEY ELEMENT SWAPS!!!!!

yell at me if I do, I will join the completed page, just because they are already done. But I do not need anymore bits!! And no more ribbon swaps either! I probably have enough ribbon and fiber to wrap the world up like a big ball of yarn.

I have yet to buy anything but mom is looking for the New Arrival Cart, for the daily grind swap. But that's ok, I have 4 carts I can buy this year.

I have to break the BAN on day two (well I wont necessarily break it today but I now know I have to). I forgot i don't have a book for 2008. I cant start on the 2008 pages if I don't have anywhere to put them!
All is not lost though since I do "need" the book and I can use a coupon.
But this does mean I will have to wander the scrapping section

I have them. They really don't work that well. there were lots of spots that the tape didn't stick and I had to go back over it, wasted lots of tape too.

Albums and page protectors don't break the band if you are purchasing a specific item for a specific need, which you are in this instance. You can't do your album if you don't have one so you're all good.

Just remember - get in, get your album and get out. Eyes front, no wandering fingers and you will be just fine!

Thanks all! You've convinced me - I HATE waste (that's why I have a LARGE (A3) ziplock of stuff waiting to become serendipity squares ) As I'm alloed adhesive I'll add the x-thing to my birthday wish list maybe, or see if I can get it from somewhere that does something else essential (I do need new oven gloves which don't count )

you take scrap bits and glue them down (randomly or in a pattern) to a base, like white paper, then cut them out in shapes to use on your pages.

I am going to make some this weekend so I think that will be our first class. I was supposed to do it last year but the timing wasn't right.
