2008 BAN Wagon Support Group

I was "good" yesterday, relatively. I was out of almost all my adhesives, so I really needed to go buy them and I was getting bored with my paper. I told myself I would not buy new paper until i used to old stuff up, well let me just tell you how boring and similar pages become with limited paper supply, so I had to go out and restock a little or else i would scream. I spent $40 on 3 adhesive rollers, 1 xyron X refill, 2 multipacks of plain color paper (warm and cool colors) and $3 on "special" paper (5 for $1 sale). I thought I had done so well until the $40 came up. It is still amazing to me how expensive scrapping is!

Raenstoirm - I know what you mean. Adhesive is SO EXPENSIVE! And it's not like you can scrap without it. I just got the Mickey and Friends cart and have been cutting Zig pen glueing only to discover that my Zig pen is almost dry. Add that to the fact that I'm almost out of CM tape roller and Xyron tape and I will easily drop $25 to $30 on adhesive alone.

AWM - I saw your bad trip. At least you had fun!

So the night, DH and I decided we were moving, we went out for dinner. We went to On the Border which is next to JoAnns. I decided I needed paper for my Slinky Dog group for the character kits. It was 5/$1, and I bought 10 sheets. Total: $2.14 I looked around, because I hadn't been in there for awhile, but nothing I had to have.

I'm a bit worried about Michael's though. When I was in there looking for clearanced carts (they only had Stamped) I noticed that everything in the beading aisles were clearanced. I mean EVERYTHING. I had heard they would be revamping their SB section since they closed Recollections. So I think they are going to get a bunch of new stuff in. I hope they start carrying bazzill.

I was a very good girl at WDW......I DID NOT fall off the wagon!!!

I had a $300 gift card and spent every penny of it, but NOTHING else!!! DH was so proud of me. :worship:

I did get an album, some embellishments and really cool handmade paper kit from AK, the rest went to BBB for DD, souveniors and a few photo pass pics.

The best part is that our whole trip was paid for before we left, so no credit card payments to make!!!:cool1:

I want to buy stuff! Lucky I'm away next week so won't be on the PC looking for things

Roll on 2/29!

I have to go to ACM today to pick up swap stuff. I have a list that is strictly items to complete my swap stuff. I will not stray from the list......I will not stray from the list....I will not stray from the list......

ETA: I did it! I stuck to my swap list 100%!!!

:cheer2: good for you :cheer2:

On Sunday, I bought the Mickey Font. I went various places with MIL who is also a crafter, but that is all I bought. I wasn't even sure I was going to get a cricut cart, even with M's sale, but DH reminded me we sold some Star Wars CCG cards we had collected in college, and half were mine. So I was spending "found" money. Plus, the cart was on my exceptions list anyway.

:woohoo: Kim for sticking to your list!

 Hope for not finding other goodies to buy.

I ran out of UTEE in the middle of a project so had to buy more and my Zig pen went completely dry so I needed another one of those. Despite visiting 3 craft stores, those are the only two things I bought. Yay me!

Every one is doing such a good job. I needed more adhesive & HL is having a sale, on lots of stuff. I asked DH to get so I wouldn't be tempted.

I fell off - a short fall but nonetheless....

I did some retail therapy after being upset about something I had no control about. HL had 50% off paper so I bought a package of basic grey and a few misc. pieces of "pretty paper". The rest of my purchase was allowed - card stock and adhesive (all on sale).

I think I have to skip the 2-29-$29 challenge.

Vanyel, sorry to hear you had a tough time. Sometimes retail therapy helps just a little.

I've got a stampin up catalogue  But I'm not going to order anytrhing till I egt my CTMH order back AND till we get back from holiday. It might be my 29 shop - but its an English catalogue so it wouldn't get me far.

I stayed strong! This ban is not only applying to my scrapbook buying habits, but in my other buying habits as well. DS and I went to Central Market this morning and it is in a shopping center with the Gap and a paper store (they sell stationary not scrappin paper- but still one of my favorite stores... what can I say, I  paper) and I made myself get in the car after getting groceries and come home! Woohoo! :cool1:

Great Job, Ashley!

(I've been finding our spending overall has really dropped since we have the goal of our "life after work" adventure trip beginning March 3rd. The more we don't spend at home the more we'll have available to spend on the trip.)

I've been good. I went to one of the LSS and bought 2 sheets of paper for a layout and some stickers to finish off a few others. I went to Michaels today and just looked around, but only bought two journals for $1 each for my sister and I to take with us to DL to write everything down in since we always forget the details.

So I've been doing good with not buying scrapping stuff, but not so good about buying new books. :rolleyes1 Must work on one habit at a time! ;) :rotfl:

can you believe I have no desire to shop??? I have been stresses out lately and I usually hit the store for some therapy but I don't want to.
Is that normal??? :rotfl2:

of course I have no desire to create either, but that is another thread.

I have even more motivation not to spend $$ now. DBIL is getting married the first weekend of November. They live in Tallahassee so we can combine the trip for the wedding with a trip to the Food and Wine Fest! Yippity-skippety!!! DH says I have to be good about saving though. I reminded him that I was being good on the BAN!
