2008 - 9 new adventures

Well, let's see. How about Hong Kong & Tokyo with park add-ons? Maybe London/Scotland, Provence, Northern Italy (lakes region), Austria/Germany (with the castles in Bavaria). Definitely the last one! Try to come up with some more!

Anyone thing they will add an another location in the U.S.? I can't think of where they would but that will probably be something of interest for folks not wanting to travel far on a plane

Australia would be a neat "exotic" destination
How about a land tour in Alaska, that would be interesting

Yea - Alaska !! Anchorage to Denali - awesome! Maybe some more national parks ie. Yosemite!!!! How about a 'Lewis & Clark' tour? Still think the Munich/Austria tour would be excellent! Plus the castles, there are the Salt Mine tours, Ice mine Tours - lots to do for both kids and adults.

Totally agree, I did a tour of this area about 15 years ago and totally loved it
We visited, Innsbruck, Salsburg, Vienna, Munich, Bavaria area, and ended in Frankfurt

I wish that they would announce the 2008 schedule earlier than fall!! I like to plan well in advance, and this is annoying me. We would like to do an ABD tour in March over Spring Break, and I'd love to be able to check airfares, etc. Anyone else wish that they would announce this stuff earlier?

definitely agree

I think as of now the ABD tours begin in May. I am sure that is to allow for kids being out of school etc. There are some late in September though too. Also weather is a factor in the locations of the planned tours.

Maybe some safari tours in Africa? Perhaps a few places in Europe further west, and maybe even some of Asia. Russia might be interesting. Scotland would be aweome.

Well, that shoots a hole in my Spring Break idea! Thanks for the info!

Here is my wish list of where they could go

Alaska land tour
Western U.S. Oregon, Washington State
Australia or New Zealand
Scandanavia countries
Greece
Germany / Austria
Switzerland
Northern Italy - Venice, Bologna, Lake District
England - somewhere other than London
France - South - Nice, Monaco, Provence

Well that is 10 but you get the idea
Anyone else want to speculate?

Thought I would add my wish list as well...

  1. Greece
  2. Japan
  3. Africa
  4. Egypt

In that order!

If either of the top two come through, I would have to do some serious thinking!! Panama cruise or ABD?

If they do offer the Munich/Austria trip, I do hope they stay at the Hotel Muller in Fussen. The views are fabulous of both castles (Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau) and they have several wonderful dining rooms. We are going again after our Imperial Cities because 10 yr old says it was her favorite place last year! Can't say enuf good about it! So much to do in a little tiny Bavarian town!

I did a quick search to find the Hotel's website and bookmarked it - thank you. The place looks amazing. We are saving up for our first trip to Europe, hopefully to Bavaria and Austria, and the Hotel Muller looks wonderful. Perfect location, and great views.

Hi Golf4food! Glad you found the small suggestion helpful. We have been there twice now - once with daughter and once with daughter & granddaughter. This year it is son, me, granddaughter (again). We usually try to arrive in Fussen (2 hrs from Munich by train) in the afternoon. We chk in, hve lunch, then see Hohenschwangau. The Hotel Muller has our tickets ( which have entrance times!) on them. After the castle visit, we have dinner, and then just walk thru Schwangau ( it is all of about 3 blocks!). By 6PM all the busloads of tourists are gone and it is so peaceful! The Alpine lake with the swans in it is gorgeous. Neat beer garden with large patio and souvenir stands around. Next morning we take the horse/buggy to Neuschwanstein for about a 9:30 visit (b4 busses; tickets already arranged by hotel!). We then walked to the Marienbacke bridge for the view of the castle and gorge. Last year we walked back to the hotel down alongside the gorge (very safe - great pathway). WOW! It is really something. This year we plan a day to Linderhof, Ettal, and Oberammagau. Hopefully we will also get to Tegelberg and summer luge sled for DG. We also will rent bikes for a day around the area. Believe me, the hotel goes to the nth degree for you!
Last year, our flight from Munich to London was cancelled due to the terrorist threat. (and we had to get to London to meet our ABD tour that day). The hotel arranged (we paid) for a driver to bring us to Munich at 5AM to get a plane to Brussels and then Eurostar to London!!! They even packed us a lunch to eat along the way - at 5 AM!!!! (no charge!) Now THAT is service!!
If you do go there, you will never regret it. As I said b4, DG (now age 10) says that was her favorite place on our trip last year. (which included ABD London/Paris)

I would LOVE to see them start something in Alaska and then when a new DCL ship starts cruising to Alaska they would have something already in place for tours etc. They could tie a land and sea vacation together then.

Its a thought at least

Would I be alone in hoping they go back to Hawaii? My family is dying to go and I would love to have Disney be in charge of the plans!
